Buying a 3D printer only becomes an option when you do a lot of printing tbh. Shapeways is better for people who might only do it a few times, or for 3D printing options not available to hobbyists
@@UntrackedEndorphins yeah I couldn’t ever hope to do SLS nylon at home. Also finicky is an understatement on low end printers when you need a mechanical part that has good layer adhesion.

Shapeways is a company with really expensive professional printers. If people want more budget-friendly options, I'd use Treatstock. It is way cheaper and is more of a marketplace with people to select from rather than a large corporate entity.
Shapeways has its purposes and benefits, but buying basic materials on demand from them is kinda a ripoff imo.

To be totally fair to the “no tools necessary” sentiment, you really didn’t even need the printer to print stencils for the rubber pads. All of the locations where rubber pads were placed were flat and easily could’ve just put paper under them and traced the outlines and holes onto the paper, then gone from there. So, to be fair to the channel, even the printer was unnecessary…

I love chips but find I spend too much time touching all of them trying to get the perfect handful. Can you come up with an invention that grabs the perfect handful of chips from the bag everytime.

Idea for Optimization - Make a rotatable stand where the focus is at a single point..Here different cameras have different focus points which you would need to adjust
An ideal design for the 1 million plaque,
Take "break/cut" a 1cm by 1cm piece from every invention you made so far and place it in a plaque mold filled with rainbow-colored silicon.
$110 for a bent piece of aluminum? $50 for a palm-sized print? That's ain't cheap bro...

1 Million Plaque Idea:
It's only fitting to create a Gator-Play Button. It can be blue with tactile bumps and holes all around it. Maybe the mirrored section of the play button can be a picture using lenticular printing to show your cease and desist letter and you wearing your gator grips.

The glowforge is pretty good but if you have a bigger budget I would recommend the Kent lasers Prestige 60 or 90
