In my opinion, she is arguably one of the best songwriters of her gen. Her lyrics are very clever and heartfelt. Her lyrics are not afraid to make fun of herself and they are very vulnerable.

Her lyrics feel real and often raw in a way that few people are doing in rock, and especially pop, these days. Her songs are a trek through a personal emotional journey, and they're such lived in experiences that it's so easy to relate. Which is a long winded way of saying, you are 100% correct.
She was just the musical guest on SNL, and her performance was incredible! You should definitely check it out!

It’s so rare to hear somebody’s personality in their voice. Olivia is amazing.
Olivia has the unique talent of being able to connect to a range of generations. She herself is a very young woman. But she taps into grunge and 70s rock and even spoken word effortlessly. Yes by all means review her album. Both of them. They are modern masterpieces.

Love your reaction! Olivia did say that people are the same, more than they are different. So, that's why her debut album resonated with all different demographics. Her dad's a therapist, so she's really in touch with her emotions. She's 20, turning 21 next month. She wrote drivers license and her album when she was 17, with her sole producer.
plus her mother was an english teacher hence her amazing articulation and vocabulary !

olivia is punk !!! i’ve stood by this for the longest time and will always stand by it. her sound is SO different. there is absolutely nothing wrong with pop (i’m a big swiftie lmao i love pop!!) but the media putting her into pop music doesn’t sit right with me. her lyrics, her music, it’s sooo punk to me. also she has gotten so much more control over her voice in such little time. she has always been amazing, but her live performances are insaaane this album

She got a lot of hate for running out of breath bc she loves to run and jump around while preforming so she said for her next tour she’s been running on the treadmill and singing her songs so she can jump around and sing. Thats why her lungs capacity is really good❤

This is one of the most genuine reactions I’ve watched from a non-fan. I’m so glad she’s getting the credit she deserves cause she’s whole heartedly one of the best artists out there right now and she’s so young! I’m excited to watch your reaction to her albums! I recommend listening to both of them (SOUR and GUTS)
She's the real deal, and deserves every last bit of praise and acclaim that's come her way.
Double Bonus: She had an unexpected hit with her initial single release, Driver's License, and they hadn't apparently nailed down all of her contract details with her record company for her extended deal. The company tried to toss a lot of up-front money at her and she refused, insisting on far less money and keeping the rights to her own music. She banked on her own future success, and it's already paid off, making her one of the richest artists in the world now.

I feel like you’ll really enjoy GUTS. It’s actually her sophomore album, two years after her hit debut SOUR. GUTS is like the perfect pre-adult album, like a look back to everything from her teenage life and some realizations from what happened that time. Sonically, it’s a great mix of pop-rock/punk and ballads. She kind of paid homage to 90s and early 2000s pop rock /grunge scene with this record so yeah, expect a lot of bangers on the album with really great songwriting. Definitely a solid AOTY contender
she performed alot of her songs live from GUTS at the ace theater too its on her youtube channel and her and her producer, dan discuss the songs and creative process too throughout the performanceee it's a good watch and her live performances of her songs lacy and the grudge were so goood during this

Great reaction!! She's an incredible songwriter and both her albums are really wonderful. You should do a reaction to her first npr tiny desk too! Also, if you really want to go down a rabbit hole you should look up "olivia rodrigo unreleased songs compilation" and you can find so many songs she wrote when she was younger before she got signed and the songs are great too.
I got to hard rock and metal too, but she is a guilty pleasure of mine.
I was also incredibly impressed the first time I listened to Olivia. She's so talented, and she keeps getting better. You need to listen to GUTS; I think you'll really enjoy the album.
I’m so happy you are reacting to her. Olivia is really the best new artist out there. She is known for her profound and relatable lyrics. They are mostly sad and about herself however many people relate to her lyrics and even if not she makes you feel like you do. I really hope you react to more of Olivia here in the channel! I recommend sling SOUR album first it was her debut album. The album that made her famous she won Grammys in just her first year. The other album is GUTS this is the most recent and my personal favorite.

definitely amazing. i also just discovered her, i thought she was a pop singer i wouldn't like, but wooow. she's so talented and the lyrics felt so fresh. i'm listening her album guts and man, I'm really enjoying it.
She is deep, she is real, all her songs are her. I knew all songs were written by one person by the lyrics the day I listened to all her stuff on CZcams. Then I found out she was 18 the first time on Tiny Desk. Watch that performance. Turns out she is an actress first with four years in a Disney tv show before she turned 18. She is perfection at her craft and one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen, and then when I watch her sing she transcends any artist I have ever seen. I am in love with her self, her music, her genius. She is now 20, and her first album was great the next even better which only the Beatles ever did. I have hopes that her career mirrors what the Beatles achieved with every album better than the last until the end. May her music never end for she is a gift of infinite value we must protect and nurture. ❤

You have to remember that Olivia has been an actor for Disney since she was 12 years old.
So she has a lot of experience of expressing her emotions, probably just comes naturally to her now.
That's really her (not so?) secret weapon, the songs are great and all, but what makes her truly special is the emotion and expressiveness in how she sings, something that obviously comes from her acting background.

Her lyrics are so good and personal and she has a great way to create an scenery. I mean, she can make you imagine everything really well in a lot of songs which I find kind of hard to do when I listen to some other artists, her story telling and her as a songwriter is just great in general.
Also, I really love love her vocals, the way she expresses her feelings through her voice is so emotional, sometimes really fun or sarcastic and I just love her songs in general. She's so talented!

I share with my grand daughter that I love 💗 OR. I use to love many artists in the 80’s I’m fact I introduced my family to quite a few punk rock groups. The singer that has unbelievable transitions and quirky switch ups that I admire is Lana Del Rey but I can say that Olivia has for this as well. 🎧🎼🎶💖
