whats crackalacking?
you said it for me! Though right now just putting together a budget banger that I have to flip.
@@techyescity 👍 2024 is a good one!
Kimchi 30% off? Now that’s the best deal of this episode!
You forgot to ask Brian, how much FPS increase do you get with Kimchi?
Big increase brother, fermented vegetables going to give you that energy boost.@@CyberClu
@@techyescity Yes. All the probiotics will give a good boost 😊
The I7-860 made my eyes pop open. The CPU I tried for so many years to destroy. Still have that rig, used it until 2017 daily. This hunt was totally motivational, great buys and now we are closer and closer to the next flip up.
That B450M with 16GB RAM was a great deal and same with the X99 combo. The only thing I don't like about the X99 boards is that a lot of budget coolers in my area don't fit on them (Thermalright Assassin, Deepcool AG400 and similar 4 heat pipe tower coolers) so the flip ends up costing a bit more than usual as I have to shell out for the more expensive tower coolers or an AiO.
On the flipside, X99 combos in my area are usually pretty cheap to begin with so it works out in the end.
Got get on that snowman train.
@@techyescityThis might be the year I finally decide to get ordering on Aliexpress.
Quite right, i'm in california and we never get deals like that here sadly. Most people on FB marketplace and offer up asking more then EBAY prices, just ridiculous.
Yeah that socket is a bit of a pain to get coolers for. Especially one that isn't just made for compatibility, but actually cools the cpu well enough.
Tbh I was more impressed seeing two BMWs using their indicators(or blinkers whatever you want to call them) to change lane. Sorry but it was more impressive than the deals you got. 7:05
Great vid, as always Bryan! I helped my buddy build his PC yesterday. I forgot how much fun putting one together can be. And he gave me his old i7-7700 system as a thank you. Oh, and I saved him money on his Windows license by going through the sponsor of today's video.
Legend! what did you build him out of curiousity? The 7700 can still go hard with even an RTX 3060.
@@techyescity He picked out the parts, just needed help putting it together. It was a 13700k with a used 3070 ti. He just wanted something newer to get on Win11 for some features. I mean, it's his money 🤑.
@dionelr It's a good and future-proof choice he made and a jump to Windows 11. I hope your friend is happy
What are reasons to pick lga 1700 i7 13700k over an AM5 equivalent?
@@jasper8291 if I were to guess, it would just be sticking to what's familiar.
The 3rd gen Optiplex uses a standard ATX 24 pin, so you don't need to get adapters for those. They didn't start with the proprietary stuff until 4th gen.
I realized that when I was putting it together today! big win.
One of my go-to quick and cheap flips. Start with an Optiplex 3010 or 7010 mini tower and put in a 1050, or you can swap the PSU and go for a 1060 or RX 580. You start getting into clearance issues with the HDD cage and the USB headers are under the GPU if you get a long one
3050 to 3060 is a pretty significant upgrade. About 33%
Yes, it's significant but for me it needs to be at least +40%.
Wow DDR5 already on the used market.. amazing how fast things move..
Where I am at it pops up about as much as the ddr4 does, not sure if people buying the Pre builts are just upgrading or just not looking at QVL before buying.
Am guessing either they bought non QVL ram, had issues or upgraded capacity. Pretty nice to see DDR5 used coming in though.
@@Willbme4EVA probably a mixture of the two. Surprisingly they don't learn anything from DDR4 since early on in certain platforms life DDR4 compatibility was just not good.
Isn't ddr5 just out last year for mainstream consumers?
LMAO that Kimchi took me by surprise, actually unexpected but good taste as expected from you
Still sporting an X99 rig and luvin it. BUILD: HuananZhi X99TF ($50, new, discounted) + E5-2696v3 ($45, used) + 48GB DDR4 3200MHz ($120, used) + RTX 2080Ti ($220, used) + Lian Li LanCool Mesh II Performance Case ($39, used). PSU was purchased new a few years ago (Corsair TX650...$85). This rig has served me well for over a year, no issues.
Twas a good one man! I'm glad you're back doing this kind of content! Been lovin it.
That farm area was beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
So much hardware being picked up!!! Great content and extremely interesting economics analysis at the end!
Thanks brother, definitely pay attention to all the finance news, it's interesting how it relates to tech.
great video brian man the x99 mb was my favourite love how many exansion slot that motherboard had just remembering the old days
Wish we had such deals in uk. Too many scammers these days imo. Monitor looked impressive. Enjoy these videos more than expensive new gpu/cpu 2bh. Great channel 🐈👍
Same just feel like Ausies are more laid back and chill. Im buying my shit brand new and not taking any risks😅
Hey Nick, don’t let Mike (MUB) see you over the pond here in Australia 😉😅😂🤣😂🤣
Haven't seen your content in ages! CZcams algorithm, man. Glad I finally caught it again!
Another great video. My son picked up a windows pro key with the promo you posted. Thanks again. The last part comes in on Wednesday and we build his first dedicated gaming PC. 12700, 32gb DDR5, and 4070.
You are my favorite PC builder YTber. I flip PC and when I get discouraged I watch your videos and get excited. Youre content has been amazing lately and I watch from beginning to end!
Wow, thanks!
Never underestimate a goooood kimchi and at a vg price ….. best deal ever Bry 🥰🤩👍
Strong start to 2024 💪😎💪
Love the Kimchi score!
YOU ARE INCREDIBLE, how I wish I had a life like yours. Well done.
Hey man, this video looks better than usual, a bit sharper. New camera?
Lol I got an RX 5700 in an RX 6500 box. It threw me for a loop at first, but I verified it that it is an OEM 5700.
That's what the intro made me think of.
I definitely would have been happy getting an RX 6600 XT instead of a 980 :P
getting dem deals!!
The AOC monitor and the X99 combo are definitely my favourites of this, I used that exact monitor for a good while and everyone that saw it was impressed by its quality for the (at the time new) price, and I'm still using that exact CPU and motherboard in my PC right now lol
SSDs and DDR5 RAM prices have been going up since December. I'm probably stocking up a bit.
I love the idea of buying used parts locally but I live in Croatia where the prices are so bad that you can get better value buying new from Germany and getting it delivered to your door then buying second hand locally.
I don't know how that's even possible lol
I am sure you made the profit as soon as you visited the scenic area. The weather there also looks beautiful
Yeah it's amazing!
I love the x99 platform, I have a few of them and even started ordering the machinist boards from china.
I always loved the idea of that platform. With the amount of PCIe lanes it likely would be good for VR.
I sit there watching this during a giant snowstorm jealous of the weather
Mid west USA?
brian, thoughts on getting a hzj78 land cruiser? with the long distances you travel it might end up being cheaper to be in diesel and youll get a ton of space to haul pc parts
That freaking asus mobo was beautiful!
Hey there Brian. I've been watching for a few years now, you inspired me to start my own used PC hustle and I've been going strong ever since.
My question for you is how do you sell your older Optiplex/Thinkcentre/ProDesk conversions? I'm asking about $400CAD for an i5 4th gen/RX 470/16gb ram w/128GB SSD and 500GB HDD and up to $800 for an i7 4th gen/32gb RAM/RX 6600, and I keep getting comments from back seat builders saying these builds can't perform as advertised based on their age. Even when I include screenshots of 3DMark scores.
I've basically had my hand forced into working with 6th Gen and newer and people still don't understand how Intel's lack of innovation lead to a stagnation of progress between that and 10th gens.
Any advice on how to approach these sorts of builds without throwing the entire budget aspect away on aesthetics would be appreciated. I'm aware banger cases don't sell, and that Nvidia cards are the hot ticket. But any other input would be immensely appreciated. Cheers from Canada, mate!
love the lez resprise.
14:07 I had to do a double-take. It's like we were getting a glimpse of a young shoeless Bryan from the past! 🤣
The best deal 2 best deals I have gotten recently whas an ryzen 5 1600 system, with 1.5 ssd storage, 800w psu, 24 gb or ram lol, had a ausu mobo, and a rx 6500xt for 120 with windows, the second deal was a rtx 3050 with 32 gb ddr4 for 140
Here in the states we always meet somewhere public, going to random people's houses or having them come to yours is considered risky.
That box looks brand new for the 6600XT! Bodes well for the card within...
Ken ya legend
Can you make a guide on changing GPU thermal paste?
In my case I need to change my thermal pads since they ripped last time I opened my 6700 XT. The ripped pads still work well enough, but they will eventually cause issues I think.
Where is the suitcase PC for GPU testing? Are you working on it or is it forgotten project?
Got a watercooled x99a godlike, 5820k and geforce titan x card for 150aud. Tested it all works!
Corsair ax1200i powersupply works 😂
Lez has been a big part of your hustle
I'd like to see the video when you first met him

Oh, all right deals, nice.
WTF it's Australian Dollar!
Nice windforce 970 here👋
I picked up a 1070 8gb after taxes & SH it wasn't as cheap as I thought but seemed like a decent deal.
At 6:46 the DDR5 is shown to be 5600MT/S @ 36-36-36-76 timings. After you buy it in person, at 7:57 the DDR5 is rated at 5200MT/S @ 40-40-40-77 timings. Did you get a small hose job or did they tell you about it and you were okay with it because you need the Corsair stuff?
With a little flipping, Got the $2000 aud i spent on a 4080 back and got a 4070 ti for $300 aud. win win
Obviously in Australia the used PC market is going strong and healthy. I wish I was there to pick those great offers because I don't see these in Europe....
Hi I really like your video's getting good deals on hardware, but I wonder shouldn't you start focussong more on Windows 11 compatible cpu and motherboard combo's with windows 10 being eol and obsolete in 2025?
I actually hate that with windows 10. They're going to do to it what they did to windows 7, only it'll be much sooner. It's what forced my secondary system to move off of windows 7. It's also for that reason that I made my sister's PC with components that could easily upgrade windows 11.
In uk used pc parts are crazy high. Due to inflation, no one is willing to sell used parts. If you get any, they are similar priced to new parts or higher. Used A320 motherboards are £40-50. Used pc business are dead here😅
Same here in germany. Used is dead here.
It's a shame. I hope it gets better there and here soon. Would love to start working on the passion again
I'm in the uk too and there is never a good deal on used pc parts on any site as well as a flood of used pc sellers trying to do it as a business.
I use that same X99 MB in my game rig, with a E5 1660v4, and I cannot get it to over clock at all, what am I doing wrong? LOL, love to know what you would recommend. Thanks for the great content!! Cant wait to see whats next!!
use a v3 and do a boost unlock.
Yup, it's only the v3 that does the boost unlock, the v4 has no exploit.
@@iFiReRaiN Makes me wonder if there's a good reason to go with a 10-12 core v4 cpu? Newer instruction sets maybe? I dunno.
its my birthday today and when i came home my ma had some pc parts her friend was just going to dump! it was a case, psu and ssd. the case was WAY better than the one i had (i have a matrexx 30) so i took it for myself, the psu was lower wattage, same rating but it had black cables and was fully modular and the ssd was 240gb sata. i still took the psu and ssd and im keeping my spare case for my brother who i am going to build a pc for. after finishing mine (i also got a ryzen 5 5500 for my birthday but that was paid for) i only need a gpu now. crackalacking deal, im shocked they were just going to throw that all away!
Not tech related, but I find it funny that in this video you are in a Ford and I am in the US with a Pontiac G8 (Holden Commodore). An Aussie driving an American car and an American driving an Australian car.
Haha, yeah the focus is a reliable little run about, until I can afford something better.
i got a used 7900xtx reference for 570$ . obviously it had the hotspot problem, so i put an alphacool gpu aio on it, i maybe could get away with a nzxt g12 and some memory cooling modules. if you find a cheap way cooling a 7900xtx, look for the reference cards and pay no more than 500-600
Thats roughly how much i got a 3090 for used a 7 months ago! A thermally throttling xtx would still perform better in gaming! Everything else is questionable.
@@Derpynewb with the reference cooler, it ran fine at 1100mv -10% Power Target and 65% fan speed (max Hotspot 78c) . performance loss from stock was about 8-10 % so you could call it a 7900xtx GRE :)
Cant wait for the RTX 6090
How would the rx6600 go in a dell xps8700 with i7 4790 32gb of ram
I just bought my bro a Precision 3640 with a Xeon W1290P 10 core and 1tb nvme my.2 and 32gb ram for $550 cad.
1 year warranty from a server store reseller.
Just need a decent GPU upgrade my bros system is a i7 7700k with gtz1060 3gb. Had a chance to buy a rx5700 8gb but vary of buying used. Or new open box.
Only buying GPUs with Tech YES Lovin
What camera you got?
Do you sell the empty boxes that had different GPUs in for extra flip money?
10:36 Damn is that a DeLorean, its in 2014
I got a 980 the other day for $600 TTD. Thats about 80 USD. I want to pair it with a 12700 if I get the money
Saw those deals on FB and wondering if you would snatch them up lol
I had that x99 mobo with a 5960x running at 4.7Ghz with 32GB running at 3200mhz cl16, was within a few % of a stock 9900k, sold that system recently for 900$ with a 3060ti.

Corsair RM750 PSU
Noctua nhd15 CPU cooler
Zotac 3060ti OCed to +100 on the core and + 1500 on the VRAM

x99 sets going for around 100euro here lol. i7 5930K, x99-a, 16gb DDR4 2666
@19:09 one cannot say the 1970's inflation is a direct comparison to these days. do people not remember there was a massive oil crisis that left the US starving for oil back then? we are at a completely different paradigm, with the US now producing vastly more of it own oil, even enough to be self sufficient if it weren't for geo politics and global trade. so to think we are going for 2 or 3 waves and we are not past the peak is just insane to me. stimulus checks and handing out trillions to small business in the form of loans that just get forgiven isnt going to happen again.
We are a net importer of oil in Australia, and only have a handful of refineries. It's true that typically inflation follows monetary stimulus, but we'll have to wait and see if that occurs again. Either way, definitely not immune to oil prices here, and largely subject to the whims of the producers.
Just that it's not just the oil as a fuel, but also as a resource behind the usd, and they are in a skyrocketing debt now!
@@sydneylivecamera I was referring to inflation in the US. Although I understand it was a bit worse around the world, this idea that inflation is somehow going back up to the same levels or that we have yet to peak is utterly insane. a once in a generation shock led to the first peak, and somehow we are to expect an even bigger peak next? more than doubtful.
@@chovekb when you say skyrocketing debt what exactly do you mean? if your theory was correct than why did the US weather the inflation storm the best, compared to other countries that have currency that is backed by much more favorable debt to gdp ratios?
@@natejones8508 because they have a "secured 'world' market" if you know what i mean!
how far are u willing to drive for parts?
Not so sure about that inflation hypothesis. 70's had massive war expenses, economy output slowing down. That's putting pressure on both sides of the Fisher equation. Not expecting governemnt spending to increase that much nor is the economy that down on yearly added value. I am expecting inflton to sort of level out at 3 to 5% for a while.
History doesn't reapeat, it only rhymes

3050 upgraded to a 3060 is a ok upgrade.
Hey Bri top notch content as usual. What are 1080s (8 or 11 gb) going for in your neck of the woods? I ask 'cause I scooped one up and paired it with my 4th gen and the difference between it and the 1650 super 4gb I had in is just ... it's night and day! The 1080ti (evga Hybrid water cooled) just smokes the 1650. Even better, I was given another (air cooled, Gigabyte) 1080ti that I put in my daughter's 4th gen (4790k) system and it's been handling every new AAA game at high settings she throws at it.
That's your budget sweet spot, IMO: 4th gen + 1080ti. Your thoughts?
nice kimchi
Oh man, my 1650 is only worth $80 now :( ...Maybe if I wait for that inflationary curve I can sell it off a little higher haha.
How much would yall pay for a i7 8700k, asus tuff z37, 16gb adata ram, and a 360m cooler have one near me on facebook and they are asking $225
Sounds about right
You mind if i would do similar series in Poland? Cheers from old fan!
YEah JImmy Carter, Obummer, and BIdet, were the worst with reckless spending, ruied my working daysas a economist
I really hate to say it, I feel pretty confident that we will see the RTX 5090 come in around near that 2.5K mark. nVidia likes to push that envelope. I think that the only reason we saw the 4090 at $1599 was because nVidia ordered so many of them before Bitcoin mining crashed. They've been artificially constraining supply massively to make it feel like they sell out quickly, and now that they do have a massive demand in China, we are seeing the price rise for these cards... If I'm honest with myself, I just can't see nVidia offering that value at the ultra high end, when they can make so much more selling it for AI!
Flip up challenge when?
Slim pickings for a couple of years now it’s an explosion of goods
It's cool to see you guys there wearing summer clothes. You are living upside down.
The kid selling his 3050 after upgrading to a 3060 probably got caught up in the vRAM wars. Jumping from 8GB to 12GB seems like a lot.
yes and no as well , the 3050 is a crap 1080p GPU.
You can probably thank the administration of the United States for the inflation trends you've been seeing and the horror of 2021-2. Yeah you're absolutely correct about the 70s comparing almost equally to the 20s now. It's a bit scary mate, but hang in there. You've got a skill to shook and jive, if it's not PC parts, you'll be able to hustle anything else we will need to keep moving on. Thanks for the great content from Down Under!
It always amazes me what people are willing to pay for just a small increase in fps for gaming, ie ram/gpu/cpu. You crushed it and make someone happy with a budget pc. Oh I was stationed in South Korea, love me some kimchee, it’s,awesome with a fried egg for breakfast but your breath stinks the rest of the day 😂
I am still rocking an X58 for my gaming needs and was going to upgrade to an X99 system, but these are just not worth it these days. Way under powered when compared to what you could buy for the same money from AMD. All the complete X99 gaming setup's i have seen for sale cost the same as a Ryzen 5 5600 system which will be better than any CPU you put in an X99 MOBO. Some people still think these are high end systems today. The price you got this X99 setup is ok, and i would go the X99 route if i could get something running in a case for around $300/$350 without a GPU.
You're right that it's not high end these days, but it does still have more PCI Express lanes than anything Ryzen or Intel right now.
That's been the only thing I really wanted, just more lanes. Right now I'm more than happy to use my 5700x.
@@ArtisChronicles Did you watch Turning $100 into a HIGH-END Gaming PC - S3:E5?? See what i am saying about X99 being way too expensive. No way would a person in the know pay $1200 for an X99 setup. You can get something newer and way more powerful for the same money and sometimes even less. This is currently on Gumtree for $1250. I'll only post the listing's title as CZcams may remove my comment for posting links. "Ryzen 7 5700X 8 core 4.6ghz gaming PC with Strix RTX 2080, 1tb NVMe"

I really love these kinds of videos keep them up! I just snagged a 6650 xt off ebay for $190, how do you think it compares to a 3060 or 3060ti?
