Strasburg's hundred-and-four year old bastion of the Norfolk & Western railroad, the #475, was featured in yet another photo-freight special. Renumbered to #382, the locomotive sports a replica spark arrestor on the smokestack, mimicking the look of a locomotive starring in many of famed rail photographer O. Winston Link's photographs. Charging down the line early in the morning, #382 puts on a great show, and is even spun on the turntable at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania that night.
O. Winston Link is channeling you. Absolutely beautiful work.
Absolutely SPECTACULAR work on this video! Couldn't have done a better job than you did! Thumbs up and a favorite!
This is sweet! Great video!
OMG I love your vids
An absolute stunner from the first moment on. Terrific job! This has to be the greatest video of Strasburg ever.
somethings funky with the whistle
Nice video! I wish they would keep the 382s whistle on 475 as I hate that N&W Hooter!
I have seen grace and beauty
Wow... just, just WOW.
Awesome video Joe! This is one of the best hi-def videos I have ever seen! I can't wait to see more! How do you get permission to film stuff like that when there are other professional photographers around you? I loved that whistle 475 had on her. Thanks for sharing!
Absolutely stunning coverage!!! Well done!!!
Perfect calender shot at 4:20 !!
Amazing as usual. I wouldn't expect anything less from you!
Really Spectacular Video!
Fantastic video Joe!!!! Great opening shots!!
Thank you very much!!!Excellent video...Greetings from Hellas!!!
Beautiful.
That was awesome!
Love the video!!
Very nice!!!!!!!!
It's nice to see how it looked without the snow. And also some color.
Note that I don't comment much since it's always redundant, but this video deserves it: GREAT video :-)
4:57 must of been cool seeing 475 on the Museum of Pennsylvania turntable since these days strasburg doesn't use it anymore since I heard the turntable hasn't worked in years
It's also a good thing that Strasburg has decided to keep the N&W livery on the 475 for good.
@DarkMouseyFan114 - It's the actual whistle from N&W 382, custom made by engineer B.T. Nichols out of an old WWII bombshell and an N&W Hooter whistle base. Sounds very nice!
Link was given the whistle Idk if his son has allowed it to be used
Very beautiful man does 382 look and sound great in this video I would love to see her in real life one day.
Funnyperson251 If you want to see 382 then your looking for #475 because it's just her dressed up as #382.
Gorgeous! One question, was the shot with 90 pulling into Strasburg a part of the phot freight or was that one of the hourly trains?
Are you sure this isn't a N&W documentary?
That is just how good A photo charter can be.
I believe that’s 382’s original whistle on her
First whistle is a goose honk?!
@indie1361 90 was hauling the regular train.
prima Video !
So if I’m correct was this the second photo charter where 475 was masqueraded/disguised as 382.
Correct!
@@fuscoproductions figured since I'm pretty sure the first one was in February 2010 or March
@@atsfevan0242 that’s right! I was there as well. That was a LOT of snow that day!
@@fuscoproductions hope to see another photo event with 475 as 382 since I think it's only happen 4 or 5 times? The other two times being in 2017 and 2019 when 611 made it's first visit, and still surprised it's returning for a second visit that'll be longer than the first time
Wonder if the Strasburg Railroad can do Railfan weekends in the future?
So many photo charters are run on the Strasburg - lest we forget the big 611 event from 2019 and the "Steam Strikes Back" event from 2020, there are plenty of railfan events going on. There really isn't a shortage of things to be excited about!
I do miss the Trains & Troops events they used to hold during the first weekend of November - those events were essentially railfan weekends with the mixed half-hourly consist and WWI / WWII reenactors at the station and on the train.
SUUPER videography
The East Broad Top, and Durango and Silverton.
Well, Good enough to fool me that they got a new engine!
Is it just me or is #90 really hauling ass at 4:20?
Yeah, she is BOOKIN' IT. And, from at least what I can see, she's not doing yard speed.
Luckily her brakes were working!
Hi me again. I saw how all of your videos are HD. My videos are all in MPEG2 format. I convert them from WMV. I have gotten a few to upload in HD, but the others are all in SD. Could you advise or help?
Is #382 just #475 in disguise or just a separate engine?
382 is 475 in disguise. :)
475: They'll never know... ;)
How Do You Find Out About These Excursions
why on earth was it renumbered?
It is really 475 as 382 when I went on I asked someone and on other videos you can see the numbers 475
whistle sounded clogged up for some reason
@Espee9180 Cumbres & Toltec :)
there's this thing called, Google.
