    Can confirm, this fix worked for my 2014 hyundai accent. Keep in mind, these compressors do not have a clutch and always spin with the motor. Thanks!

      I’m getting my compressor fixed next week. They did everything and I kept saying it’s the compressor. They didn’t believe me because the compressor was still spinning. They changed the hose, suction and evaporator. It’s Still blowing hot. Now they say it’s the compressor, what I’ve been saying it was from jump. I spent so much money. Mine is still under warranty but they didn’t want to approve the compressor because they approved the evaporator.

      @@ItsEkcho That's why we need to put our hands on our cars. Dealer, shop or mechanics just want money. My Dealer had my car for two days to do nothing, not even do what I requested and at the end they want to do what I already did. They want to start looking for the problem but starting from where I already did. You see? they don't care about you or your car, is only looking for money.

    When you replace the control valve, make sure you replace it with an OE brand. If you use an aftermarket one, you will have problems in the long run with it cycling on and off. It happened to me several times. I use a brand called Mando. No problems anymore.

      Does the AC still work good. My daughters car is doing the same thing. I only have a gauge for the low side but it was off the chart when I hooked it up. So while she was at the dealership getting an oil change she had them check the AC. They charged her 185$ to tell her that the compressor was bad and it was going to be 1400$ to replace it. From this video and many others they say this is the only thing that is wrong with it but the dealership wants to charge for a compressor because they claim it is only a temporary fix. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️. I’m lost before I either rent the stuff to replace the valve am I better off doing this or just getting a compressor from Amazon or 1aauto for under 300$.
      Yesterday I checked all of the fuses and they are good I also pulled the plug on the valve and checked the voltage
      I was getting around 11.4 volts. Anyone know if this is normal or do I have a voltage drop somewhere and should be getting 12v.
      Any suggestions help or advice would be greatly appreciated

    I replaced the valve but need to get it recharged. Is the clutch supposed to turn all the time even when the AC or defrost is off? On most vehicles the clutch only engages, 1. when there is sufficient refrigerant, 2. if the AC or defrost is on.

    My daughter took her 17 accent today to the dealership and they charged her 185$ to tell her it was going to cost her 1400$ to replace the AC compressor.
    Could this control valve be the issue that I could fix myself. Only gauge setup I have is for the low side and it was extremely high. If I remember correctly it was around 60psi.

    How did you diagnose the issue

    • @heartlandmechanic
      @heartlandmechanic  Před rokem +2

      By reading the gauges , only 2 things can cause that gauge reading , ( control valve or expansion valve ) , knowing that expansion valve rarely go bad and that the control valves are common for failing .

      @ignacio2013abc Před rokem

      @@ignacio2013abc Its becoming a common problem on all of the newer compressors that use a control valve , ( On all car models ) I replaced about 10 control valves over the summer , mostly GM and Ford , The best way to diagnose ( system full of freon and on a warm day ) check gauge reading ,

    • @heartlandmechanic
      @heartlandmechanic  Před rokem +6

      The reason you are not hearing a lot about control valves is they are being misdiagnosed for the compressor , repair shops will tell the customer it needs new compressor ( new control valve comes with compressor } then they can sell them a expansion valve and dryer , They have then covered there self .
