  • This is month 3 of my handpan journey, and I am working on harmonics! I put together a bit of a how-to because these were tricky for me to understand at first. I hope this helps some of you!
My pan is made by Nova Pans, called Panniverse on Amazon. It's tuned to a D Kurd scale, which is D minor. You can grab one here: amzn.to/3yZmx5o You can also find them on their website NovaPans.com
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. That means that if you buy something from the above Amazon link, I might get a small share of the sale :) Thank you!
I'm working right now on learning more percussion techniques with Master the Handpan! You can find the site here: masterthehandpan.teachable.co... You can use the code MUSICALMOLLY to get $30 off! The beginner's handpan course has over 7 hours of lessons plus an active Facebook group to ask questions of the wonderful instructor, David, and your fellow students. This is an affiliate link, so if you decide to purchase a course it supports this channel as well!

I actually did not realize that about handspans. I knew they could resonate more than one note but I didn't know about it being tuned on the long and short axises. Very cool and informative.

I didn't know it either until I started learning to play harmonics! Very fascinating 😊

Been trying to figure out harmonics myself for a few weeks now without assistance. I know about how harmonics work but just couldnt make it work on my pan. Your video reslly cleared it up for me and i got it literally first try. Thanks very much.

I have seen the process to which these things are made, and there is SO MUCH work that goes into it. So much details to abide by to make it sound correct and proper.

Just a note for those watching the fifth and octave are reversed in this case

I guess you might have confused the Octave & Fifth while demo & played opposite!!!
Unless you are showing AH-Alternate Harmonics.
    You are doin grt otherwise.
