It’s not meant to be an exact reenactment of the JFK story, more a subversion. A modern take. LDR plays an amalgamation of Marilyn and Jackie. She’s playing with expectations here by having ASAP Rocky play the role of JFK. The song itself is a warning about hedonistic excess as experienced by a couple that is wealthy, and how that can change love from something pure and simple to something convoluted and maybe even corrupted.
Also, the birthday cake scene is supposed to be reenactment of Priscilla and Elvis, so I’ve heard..

It’s not. How can people be so naive. Who writs a letter like that other then an artist? She was a politicians wife damn it, not a poet (+he was not faithfull and they had bigger problems then romanticizing their relationship - like nuclear bombs…)
it's actually a rumor. the last part was written by Lana and if you search online, you will find nothing about that so-called letter. All those fake letter pics were fanmade. I had tried to search from the whole web once this music video was first dropped, yet by that time, there was no evidence that could prove it's written by Jacky - this proves that the Jacky letter thing is just a total rumor
