Update: so I can confirm. It smells like a hard working Arab man on a hot summer day. I’m going to let it sit on my shelf for a month or 2 and see how the notes settle.

A lot of my coworkers came up to me and asked me what I was wearing with this. They loved it. Of course it is very subjective, but have to say that it has gotten me compliments from men and women. The most important part though, is that you like it yourself, and personally I like it, but soooo not for summer!

Fragrance is personal and each nose is different. I bought it 2 days back and I absolutely love it. It’s dark, rich, mysterious and has a lot of depth and character.

I agree with you 💯%👍🤝. Every nose is different and people like different stuff. What's important is that you like it and it fits your taste. If someone doesn't like the fragrance that I am wearing, then that's their problem, but don't bring that dislike to me. We just can't please everyone else, it's impossible! I think Middle Eastern fragrances are the best, the quality ingredients are amazing. The House of Lattafa fragrances are fantastic. I have many of their fragrances in my collection, I darn love all of them.
Bought this last year. Love it and was surprised how many people at work liked it so I got a decant of the original and people like that even more. I now have a bottle of the original coming from my favorite discounter.
I smelled the original Initio oud for greatness and I thought it was great although I still liked the oud for happiness better.
What percentage of similarity would you assign to the oud for glory compared to the oud for greatness? thank you in advance

Im the same in that I tend to like more basic fragrences. When i first smelled the real Oud For Greatness by Initio, i was taken aback. I was like "wtf is that?" and didn't like it off first sniff.
But then i had a bunch of other people smell it, both men and women, and EVERY single one of them said they liked it a lot.
So i gave it another chance and now i get it. It's a dark and mysterious scent. Something a dark figure wearing a black cloak would smell like. I enjoy it a lot now, but its still not something i personally wear too often. This is a great clone of the real thing, they are very similar.
I like this scent, 2-3 sprays max so mainly only the scent stays in my bubble. I live in a colder climate and is perfect for me. I like Oud Amethyst as well but Oud for glory has more of a "punch". Both good imo.
At first I wasn't sure about it, but I found it to be a really addictive smell... But, it is a valid point that it's too different... Don't pull out the encre noir AL'E or OFG for a job interview.

Oud for Glory smells WAY too sweet for me. To the point that i get a headache from wearing it. Mine has been sitting on the shelf since i bought it last winter. I've sprayed it once or twice sine then, but it's just not doable for me 😭
I feel the same. Not worth it for me. It's just sitting there on the shelf. I live in a hot climate mainly, gets cold only a couple of months but really wouldn't wear it in the cold.
I love the scent and I really wish I could pull it off but alas it's just too much for those around me. Great room spray though.
Hate it on my first sniff, smells like an incense to me. But after 3/4 days i get to explore more of the notes and the dry down is awesome. Now I have no regret of blind buying. Wearing it everyday 😁😁
I spray 4 times with OFG and twice with Al Haramain Amber Oud tabacco edition and I’m smelling great

You can actually mix it with khamrah. Perfect mix of dark and sweet juices.
I'm confused. Bought one this week and mine is sweet and almost like BR540 🤔 It's a little bit 'oudy' for me in parts, but it's a lovely scent
Lucky, that's how my friends batch smelt, when I bought mine it has no sweetness and it's pretty much all wood.
I like the sweet zafran rose like opening kinda like b540, but after an hour it smells just like blue shower bath gel ..all in all It reminds me of an cheap body spray.. would love a sweet Safran rose golden warm Amber sweet woods sandlewood like version of this a a little bit sweet Italian designer like maybe (male 37).. any recomandation for me?
I would look into Knights of Arabia from killer oud. Paris corner makes it.

It's the end of June and im wearing Oud For Glory today. I think it works perfectly well in the summer, just be gentle on the trigger and have confidence.
Maybe it doesn't count because they are my relatives, but I saw my sister and mom today, and they both demanded I tell them what I'm wearing because it smells so good. They sometimes say I smell good, but they have never asked what I'm wearing before.
My mom is going to purchase it for my stepdad now.
Of course, if you want to make it fresher, you can layer it with YSL Y like you said in your recent video. That combo does work pretty well.

Oud for glory layers well with Fuhkar, CDIM intense limited Edition, Ansaam Silver, and khamarah. Only where Oud for Glory on cold and chilly days….

I tend to agree with a lot of your perfume takes but I just got this one and I think its an awesome scent. Another perfume that I think people should be careful with blind buying is CDNM Milestone, imo. I will have to give that one away since I cant stand it.

Wear milestone a couple of times first time I smelt it it smelt like shi after a couple of wears it grew on me trust
You have to let it sit, what they call maturate .cause I was the same and let me tell you, the wifey just about eats me up when I wear it
I definitely disagree with this, A LOT of women like this fragrance, my gf LOVES it on me, its just, you have to be the type of guy to wear this sorta fragrance
I am a little woman...and I wear it....but lightly sprayed... it is really potent. After a while it becomes magnificent.... just sayin'....
i bought this a year ago and hated it. so cloying and syrupy...blah. However, like so many challenging fragrances, coming back to it later you find your sensibilities and understanding of fragrance has matured and u often have an aha moment. I had the same happen recently with Paco Rabbane XS which i thought smelled like the stem of a flower.,,,just weird. then last week i put it on and was blown away by the mint and bergamot. I almost threw that one out too. Glad I didnt. I put Oud for Glory on today after watching this to remind myself how crap it was....and boom! oh wow....i finally have an entrance point into understanding it. Some people say that Oud for Greatness is a clone of BR 540. Can u see similarities with for example Untold? or are they completely different?

Yea.. im havin it nd trust me , its not a grt smell.. spices , wood , and metallic earthy smell.. its the combo.. nothing specl or not evn worth the money
asad is great. very versatile, basic and simple just a spicy wood smell
i like it but i got the feeling it doesnt last long... also its more for night and tuxedo style lol

I can't find anything on the bottle. I don't have the box, It's a really good performer It doesn't let down. I would say 8 plus hours. But that's only from wearing it two or three times. I really dislike this fragrance.

Imo, Lattafa Amethyst is better if you're looking into buying oud for glory. Amethyst has a similar vibe, but it is somewhat balanced with added powdery sweetness from the rose and a bit of vanilla on the base (which toned down the animalic oud that OFG has).
I've heard that it's a little bit better! And plus when you mix rose with oud it seems to work really well.
I just picked up oud satin clone and I love it. So it's not all oud fragrances that I hate. It's just the mixture of this animalic nature that's going on in oud for glory. But it's some people's vibe! No hate towards people, love my peeps!

I just got mine today. But I can barely smell it. And what little I can smell seems to disappear within 10 seconds. I tried spraying it on clothes and it's still the same.
Having the exact same issue. 10 sprays on skin with unscented lotion and almost nothing 2 hours later.
@@philtrapp my issue's fixed now. i macerated it for about 2 weeks. Keep it in a dark cool place and that should do the trick. The scent needed some getting used to for me as I'm not a huge oud fan. But it grew on me over time and now I use it twice a week. Lasts hellava long time on skin easily 7 hours and clothes sometimes I can smell it 2 days later as well.
@@philtrapp also I would suggest not to smell it up close immediately after spraying it. Makes you go nose blind.
I think noseblind I cant smell it after 50 sec but people can smell me😊
Forgot to mention that when this leaked in my car, It managed to soak into my breath Mints.
That's mainly why I hate it now.

Great and spot on review! I couldn’t put into words how this blind buy made me feel, but you hit the nail on the head! It smells like I can fuel my car and clean my base boards with this shit!
3:19 simply not true....over 20 random women within the first few days of purchase all complimented me on how great this fragrance is and that they wanted to suggest it to their friends and boyfriends....it is very manly and woody, no mystery here...my personal critique is that it does not last as long as you think....only about 3 to 4 hours....validated with social circle....if it's your fragrance for that 24 hour period, then you may need to reapply after 6 hours or so....and if you decide to wear it in the summer, no more than 2 to 3 sprays compared to in the fall or winter where you can go at least 8 sprays.

I would disagree on most of what you said. It is sweet but also very tangy. It's also fruity in a red berry kind of way. There's more going on though with the spices etc, and the woodyness dries out the tartness giving the overall scent a smooth husky texture despite the sharpness. There is also a gasoline like note which covers over everything further toning down the tang and giving it a masculine edge. Desipte all this it's still pretty tart but I wouldn't say there is any fecal quality about it at all. It's perhaps just that things that normally smell that sharp usually are things going off, so I can see why someone might associate that with it. Also, it's one of those scents that smell much better in the air. Seeing as though it's fruity I would say it's definitely a sexier enticing type of scent as long as it's lightly sprayed. Very rich though, very rich.

@@bigbang5831 You're probably picking up on the gasoline note and only noticing that when you smell it. If theres something in a fragrance you dont like you tend to hyper focus on that and miss out appreciating the other notes. It's almost like hypnotising yourself into thinking it's bad. Then one day you smell a nice scent on someone and ask what it is and its that fragrance. I dont like One Million because I dont like the mass appealing vanilla but the amount of times Ive asked someone what they're wearing only to find out its that is embarrasing.
I dont blame you for not liking this though since it's very much a more complex snif-a-holics "I want something richer/deeper/different" type of scent, AND it's middle eastern-ish with the fairly sharp oud (It gets way more skankier than that). I definately think it could do with a little more smoothness/lightness to make it more wareable. I hardly use it myself. Just a little too rich and inappropriate I feel but there's probably someone who wears it all the time and is a hit with the ladies.
@@gavinlynas2833 the thing is the dry down isn't that bad tho. I'm gonna put it up on the shelf and let it sit for bout a month and then I'll come back to it. I've alot of reviewers say that works and it smells alot better. I'm definitely not gonna give up on it so soon. But it's definitely a smell very unique from all my other colognes for sure. @@bigbang5831 Yes in the dry down youve basically got a fruity tangy leather scent. The fragrance was probably made months ago already so I dont see how storing it for another month would change anything. Mine still smells the same and Ive had it for more than a year. Its probably just too much of a leap in what youre used to and youre finding it hard to adapt, and youre sniffing it up close (its quite a nose full) when others will be smelling it dissipated in the air as its meant to. Just wear it and see what reactions you get or spray it on someone else lol and see how sexy they become/ or not. No-one has said a thing to me yet but I have only worn it about 6 times during non-social events. Compliments can change your perspective on a fragrance and help you understand how it is coming accross (despite what you may think) and what it does for you respect/attraction wise.
@@gavinlynas2833 yo I had to come back on here and tell u i let it sit on the shelf from the time of our conversation and just came back to it, I sprayed it and it smells AMAZING NOW!!. By letting it go through maceration process it helped a ton. I'm really glad I didn't give on oud for glory. I will definitely be getting me a back up of this
I don’t really like it but I don’t hate it. I don’t smell 💩 😂. I just don’t like Lattafas version. There is a clone from Montagne called Mystique Oud. It’s really really good and refined

All due respect, this review stopped me from getting oud for greatness, but I went tp the msll and tried it and its not at all like described here. Not dark at all i feel and smells amazing
That's why it's impossible to tell somebody if they're gonna like something on the internet. Fragrances, you have to experience for yourself. I can only do so much with describing it.
If you don't pick up any darkness, I don't know what to say. It's a very heavy dark fragrance. Based around patchouli, oud and smokey guaicwood.

But few weeks ago friend was bit**g about his bottles of Greatness... I tried them and beast performance is gone. Something wierd is happening at Initio.

Smelled initio version in harrods, I get that spicy bo vibe too when dried down on skin. Not so much on paper. It smells really nice on paper. Not smelled the dupe, probably won’t buy it because of that dried down bo smell in the original. Not sure if that’s how the dupe smells Immediately when sprayed but also when dried down too
Can you recommend some earthy fragrance? A bit on budget side.
Encre noire and encre noire a l'extreme. Earthy, mossy, woody scents. They're more on the woody side though and not mainstream at all, not easy to pull off.

Don't mind him. Oud for Glory is an excellent fragrance. No grounded perfume head will align with his perspective on this.

Yeah, got this two weeks ago and was really disappointed. Almost immediately gone, no projection and the smell...I don't know man, maybe it's just not my thing but I just didn't like it and maybe that's because it's so weak. I'll leave it a few months in the bottle and see if it gained...something. Great vid, keep going.

When I tried more recently I was actually blown away how much the juice matured. It is a powerful smell and it took me one day of wearing to get used to it but just a day or later I tried it again and somehow I got it, I understood and liked it. One thing though, it's a definite fall /winter cold weather smel
You can't wear it when it's somewhat warmer or even hot outside. Apart from bugs some people might actually attack you, just kidding. But really, only colder weather, let it rest for a month or so in the bottle and in the second week take the cap of for about 1-2 days. You might be surprised. Positive or negative, I don't know..that's a matter of taste.

This shit is hilarious. Hilarious!!!! by the way i got a sample of this (well actually Oud for Greatness) and Side Effect two weeks ago. Side Effect is fire. I actually like Oud for Greatness more than Oud Wood (i think). But i'm not the biggest oud person either. So i love that you lean towards the crowd pleasers. I can relate to you more than the fragsnobs mad. that something like YSL Myself doesn't smell fecal enough. Sick.
two significantly more refined scents would be the cheapest mosquito repellant you could get, or an off-brand pepper spray. This is the cheapest smelling, most synthetic thing ever put together - the Lynx Bodyspray of the summer of 2023. The d××g dealers who camp at the subway station nearby are very fond of it tho.

Scent is great but for my longevity is poor and I'm not nose blind to it as oud for greatness last for longer on me
He said Tom Ford is polorizing, and OFG smells like BO. Lmao, Wrong about both. Tom Ford may be polarizing for 3 seconds, and oud for glory is all but spot on to oud for greatness with better performance. You either like oud or you don't.

I think you just don't like oud in general because oud is a pretty heavy/dark smell as you described. You have to like oud in order to appreciate this scent. A lot of people really enjoying wearing oud.
Not true. I love oud in many different fragrances like Paragon, Oud for Happiness, etc. Many do the balance of oud better than this.
This is just my opinion and that's important to keep in mind. Lots of people love this fragrance. 🙏

I was surprised by this fragrance. Wasn't sure if I liked it or not. But it's kind of grown on me. Smells like dark wood and chocolate. Maybe a lead pencil or metallic note too. Good projection and longevity. But I have to be in the mood for it and usually reserve it for a rainy day. I'd much rather wear this than Encre Noire by Lalique which is another dark fragrance but that one smells like rotten death to me. LOL But I would not get this again TBH. There's much more pleasant fragrances out there.

@@rohith7841 Yes, it's difficult to find an occasion to wear this one. I feel it's good for cold, rainy days or a gothic mood. Ha. It's more of an earthy scent and not a fun or sexy scent. I'll hold on to it for now but at some point it may get tossed to make room for something else. 😆

What people don't understand about this type of oud based perfumes is that they're very dressy, formal and potent. Just like Oud Satin Mood MFK, they should be sprayed on clothes even the night prior to wear it off a bit and avoid disturbing people around you. Sometimes, people compliment your fragrance cause it's too strong, not necessarily cause it smells nice. Al haramain's Oudh Adam is a better clone than Lataffa's imo for those who enjoy OFG but can't afford it.

I'm of the school of thought that you should ALWAYS wear what you enjoy... Unless there's a strong chance that what you're wearing can be confused by part of the population for smelling like the inside of something's rectum. Then that's a "no" from me.

😂 It's because of the Oud! I Love Oud BUT, it depends on the type. Oud can smell like "Butt"😂. It can be really stinky, but when mixed with the right stuff it's AMAZING. So just like you said it's either loved or hated. When I 1st smelled Oud I was like H--l Naw. But now I love it. It's the same with smoky Scotch, you either love it or hate it. Also if you dont like middle eastern smells 4get about it.😮
