I Faced A Former Grandmaster?

- I faced a former Grandmaster and two times International Master Igors Rausis from Latvia. The legendary Grandmaster is known to the internet for his cheating scandal but what internet doesnt know is that Igor is actually a very charismatic and personable!
I had a chance to challenge Igor at @charlottechesscenter No idea what he is doing here...
So, evidently, he played the Latvian Gambit that I thought was a complete scam and even strarted a new game, but then the "accidentally passing by" Grandmaster Olexandr Bortnyk said the line really existed - so I realized that the legendary Rausis was in fact telling the truth!... Watch the game till the end to see who actually won!

Unlike Dina's normal trash talking in chess game, her demeanor with this GM was very heartwarming to see

According to FIDE, GM->IM Igors Rausis aka Isa Kasimi is only 62 years old. The man in the video seems much older than that.
He died today he was suffering with cancer since 2003 the illness might have been the reason he looks a bit old for his age maybe

Cheater or not, he’s an old man wearing telescopes for glasses and reaches for rooks he forgot he lost. It’s nice to see a human side to Dina; she had compassion for this old man. Modern chess is a memory game which the players call “theory,” with players just duplicating previous games move-by-move until someone makes a mistake or deliberately chooses a novelty, each player trying to perfect the previous player’s game. That’s how GMs know what their opponents’ next moves will be, because they’ve both memorized the same book. Thanks to Dina, Igor, and his alter ego Kasimi, we got a real old timer’s game out of this with the Latvian Gambit, and it looked like a super fun game. That’s probably an opening that hasn’t been played seriously since Morphy’s time in an era when gentlemen still played fun chess, not memory game 😂

If you look at the international ban list she is now on it. - Noted as.. "Of questionable character" Some one high up on the chess scene has obviously taken Umbridge at her chess shenanigans.
She changed the title of the video from "I beat a grandmaster?" to "I played a former grandmaster?" In reality he beat her. In the end they agree to a draw because she made an illegal move but his clock was at 0. However he called her illegal move while she didn't call his flag, that means he won. It takes a certain skill to call a flag when you're both short on time, and Dina didn't do it so he won. He was also slower because he was practically blind and has slower hands. He was also far better and about to mate her.

@@niagra898I don't know the exact story of this guy, but in the video it seems like this guy cheated in offical chess games. If he cheated and became a grandmaster because of that than he never was a real grandmaster and surely can lose the title.
