Reese Plex mine had a tumor and I donât know why my mom wouldnât get surgery for her, she knew that my world would have no meaning without her and she was young too, but Iâm making a IT chapter 2 quote oh yeah she also didnât TELL me she had a tumor until she was already dead and she just said that oh it might be cause sheâs old, or make a lame excuse but anyways I was like which is the IT quote you lied and I died! You lied and I died! Because I like died inside when she died and she lied sooooo, but Iâm happy your hammy is alive! And survived! It makes me happy when other hammys are happy

Update: My beautiful baby girl maple has passed on November 2nd 2019. I wanted to give her the best life I could and gave her everything she needed. We donât know what happened but I got her from a pet store so maybe she was sick. I will love you forever maple! Rest well mappie (nickname) i love you more than anything!

Update: My hamster FrootLoop passed away at 2 years. He was my last ever petstore hamster! I only adopt now! I didnât do research at first and used crittertrails and other small cages. Frootloop broke the cycle of bad hamster care for me. He got a bin cage, proper diet, big wheel, and so much more. Thank you Frootloop for everything you did! You were amazing and I hope Iâll see you again one day!

My boy, Jinnie, is at 2 and a half years old. He's my first personal pet at 18yrs old and my first hamster. He is my comfort, my world, and my reason to keep going. But I feel that he is near to passing soon and I keep sobbing thinking about it. I don't know what to do, I feel complete lost. However thanks to Rachel, I have tried giving him a good life. Maybe not the best, but what I've seen he has been happy. So I'm very thankful. â€

I recently lost my sweet girl june and found that giving her fresh food like cucumbers was good for keeping up her water intake towards the end!! if only they lived longer đđŸ
My hamster will be three years old early next year, and I had to remove his wheel, because he can't walk well
Maybe keep it, just in case. If you see that you hammy is NOT walking on it, just remove it.

@@BeatrizSantos-jj3zp same with my hammy. She doesn't use the wheel at all lately. When she goes on it during okay time. She can't move it at all as if it's too heavy for her. I've had to remove it.
My old man is now 2 years and 5 months.. He had a eye problem recently but he recovered.. But the last week he had problems with his balance, not all the time but especially when he just woke up. Poor boy sleeps much more and I grieve quite badly... I cry even when I brush my teeth ugh.. This morning he suddenly wanted to play and made cute noises âŁïž He still clean himself and likes food. I guess I should not cry so much but cuddle him more. I get nervous when he trips and fall over, but yet he got some energy left to run across the floor... So strange that hamie.. âșïžđ

My hamster muddybuddy died tonight. She reached 2.6 years old. I'm amazed on how you keep getting so many hamsters after so many dying. I can't stand one of them passing away and you keep going. It's truly amazing
Mine is very poorly and nearing the end and it breaks my heart as he's my little boy and has made me the proudest dad... the way I see it is they give you 2 or maybe slightly less or slightly more years of love, and in that time you have given that little hammy such a happy enriched life even if a short one.. every life ends someday however a life with animal enrichment is better than a life without them †they deserve to be loved in their short little lifes

My baby hamster is only 12 weeks old and Iâm glad I have (fingers crossed đ€đ») a couple more years with her â€ïž
my hamster had to be put down two days ago due to malignant tumors that eventually resulted in her not eating, drinking water, inactivity, etc. It was hard to make the decision and to have my final moments with her, but I know it was the right choice. want to thank you in helping me give her the best quality of life possible! You do so much in this community and you taught me a lot in delivering a happy life to her :)

I learn something new from every video đ my son and i get his hamsters out their bin cages at least two times for a hour so they can walk around and spend time with us. Like you said you never know how much time you have with them so we make sure we give them lots of love and attentoon

I didn't know anything about hamsters 2 years ago. I was so scared when I got my first Syrian, "Kitty". I didn't know a human could befriend an animal so small. This channel got us through. Bin cage, to detof, diet... To elderly care and death. Now that I can finally watch your videos again, I'm feeling ready to guardian another hammy. Thank you honestly. You don't know what you've done for this guy and his love for animals.

My Atticus came from the pet store just two months ago and he's showing all the signs of an aging hamster. I don't know how old he is but I was told he had been in the store for a while. I'm just trying to give him the best life I can while he's still here. â€
My hamster is warming up to me and Iâm very happy heâll let me pet him he put his paw on me but he nibbles a bit but heâs adjusting and how many gerber puff can u give every often edit: thank you so much everyone now I know to feed my Syrian one every couple days donât worry it wasnât 5 a day but Iâve only had him for a few weeks so Iâm sure itâs fine Iâm being honest I was giving him one a day but I stopped cause now I know Iâve only had him for a small amount of time and got them a few weeks ago do u think heâs good tho?
i think you can give one a week i think thats the best you can give them more often but i would incase of diebetes
I give mine 1-2 a week
They donât have a lot of sugar so every like 2 days is generally fine. Idk what kind of hamster you have, dwarfs are more prone to diabetes though so they should get less than a Syrian for example but I usually give my Syrians a treat every other day and dwarfs 2/3 a week depending on what type (only Syrians get yogurt drops ever because they contain more sugar)
Christina Kenward i do have a dwarf but all hamsters need to be safe and i have lots of treats for her i have banana strawberries and a whimzee so i give one whimzee a month and one if my treats a week so she doesnt get diabetes

My hamster is about 3 years and i notice he has become a really old man and he always takes little nappies near his wheel.

He's eating, drinking, pooing, peeing, and stashing food which is good but he's sleeping more and barely on his wheel. I just want to be there for him. I'm going to make an appointment with an exotic vet but I honestly don't think there is much they can do. I Love him so much and just Thanks for making this video.

This is such a difficult topic, itâs so sad seeing our fur babies get older and not being able to do as much as they used to!
My first hamster lived until he was 3 years and 2 months old! I got him at a chain pet store. (if Iâd known what I know now and how these places get their hamsters, I wouldnât have gone there to buy one. I was very very lucky to have gotten a hamster that has such a good genetic make up) He was the friendliest, cuddliest hamster Iâve ever known, everyone would be shocked when they met him at how loving and attention seeking he was to me, he would cling to me like a parrot always on my shoulder. I was so lucky to have ended up with him, in the end he was so old, it broke my heart the last year of his life because even though he was happy and wasnât in pain, he was a lot slower, and couldnât do as much as he did as a young hamster. I wish I had come across this video when I had him! It would have prepared me more! đ

My syrian hamster Tharja passed away, a day short of 2 years. We gave her the suite life, fed her by hand some mush of pellets and catfood, plenty of toilet paper bedding and she still has the energy to make a nice cozy nest despite moving excruciatingly slow. She left us like she was just sleeping, curled up and at peace, not suffering. RIP Tharja. you were a beautiful and perfect hamster.

My dwarf Baloo was exactly one year old when he passed. He showed all of the signs you described, he unfortunately had an internal tumor on his belly. When I brought him to the vet he passed almost immediately when she touched his tumor. Always do checkups on your babe â€ïž Thanks for an amazing video

Daisy is 2 years old...she started to shaking and squeaking a few days ago. I took her to the emergency, and turned out that she has some neurological problems. She is home now, shaking, loosing balance, breathing fast...she is my baby girl and I love her so much. I'm next to her and trying to make her happy all the time. â€ïž

My hamster is 3 he is a long haired male Syrian he is my baby he lives in a 40 gallon turtle tank which is actually wider than a fish tank. He has a 9 inch wheel lots of hideouts a great diet and quality bedding. Iâm am so blessed to be able to still have my baby P.S thank you for making very informative videos to teach people PROPER hamster care!đ

male syrians are usually easier to please are easier to tame. however, if you want a dwarf, i donât recommend a robo as theyâre hard to tame and are very fast. i suggest getting a russian campbellâs as a first dwarf hamster

Makenzie Pitre No hate on hamster paws, but I wouldnât just pick a Syrian because their easier to tame. Everything depends on who you are. I happen to be better at taming dwarves, but some people are better at taming Syrians. I had a robo as on of my first hamsters, and he was the light of my world. Iâm just saying that there isnât just a one type of hamster you should get, you should see which one matches your personality!

Thanks to you my hamster lived to be 3 and a half years old. I am so great ful that you have helped give me all this knowledge about hamsters
I watched your videos to prepare before I got my Russian dwarf hamster - Dobby Manickam. He passed away a few days ago at 1 year and 8 months (June 18/21 - Feb 18/23). He had laboured breathing with his eyes closed and was lethargic/zombie like one day and the next afternoon he passed away. I was devastated and heart broken. Not only that, but Iâm getting married this summer and had the optimistic naĂŻve view that he would be there for it.
I was spiraling after thinking it was my fault and trying to find an explanation as to why he died early (as some live to 3 years!). I neglected him, didnât love him enough, did he die of of pneumonia or old age, was it too cold, I didn't pay attention to the signs, I was too busy?! I could have loved him better and actually stayed up to spend time with him. Should have kept him in my room instead? But I guess we all do that as pet owners...question, regret and grieve.
Thank you for making your videos so us hamster owners have a safe place to go to learn, share, grieve and inspire. If I am ever brave enough to have another hamster, I am going to make sure that I learn from my regrets with Dobby Manickam and continuously improve.

Watching this again because my hamster is almost 2 years and is showing a lot of these signs. Sheâs really slowing down and I canât take her to vet because we are currently on ECQ and the vets donât have online consultation :â( weâre lock inside for another 3 weeks. Iâm trying to keep her enclosure as comfy as possible. Keeping everything clean but keeps everything also the same so she wonât get stress. Sheâs slowing down too soon. This is so sad.
My little girl passed away a month ago. She was a Syrian as well. I'm glad I gave her the best life she could have had. Thanks for sharing this information.

Thank you for talking about this topic. My hamster Gizmo recently passed the 1.5 year mark and heâs starting to slow down. He isnât as interested in being handled and will nibble on my fingers now. I still love him just as much and will give him softer foods when heâs having trouble, and I keep him as comfortable as possible.

Thanks, Victoria. This is not the best and fun topic to talk about, but yes. Youâre true and right at the same time, this is the reality. My Hamsters are already here for 8 months. They are 2 robos, male and female, and they have separate cages. What I do is I mush a bit of banana or I use some of those healthy pellets and add water. This video is helpful. Thank you!
