    The piano was made before Steinway had a son

      Not true. It's just the old block letter Steinway logo. The piano was CD186, built in the 1960s and used by Horowitz from 1965-1972. You can read more about Horowitz's pianos here: hankdrake.blogspot.com/2016/05/the-pianos-of-vladimir-horowitz.html
