- Recorded live by TRADtv in the beautiful chapel at Paisley Abbey, as part of our coverage of The Visit 2017, here is dynamic trio Talisk performing The Hills / Echo. Talisk are Mohsen Amini (concertina), Hayley Keenan (fiddle) and Graeme Armstrong (guitar). They combine virtuosic concertina playing with frenetic fiddle and percussively tight guitar in a mix of European folk music. Find out more about Talisk on their website: www.talisk.co.uk.
In April 2017 TRADtv teamed up with Showcase Scotland Expo to capture exclusive performances at The Visit showcasing event. We filmed live traditional music sessions in Paisley (in Paisley Town Hall, Paisley Abbey and Paisley Arts Centre) and Stirling (in The Tolbooth).
The Showcase Scotland Expo team take delegates from North America to different parts of the country to soak up the history and culture and enjoy showcase performances by a selection of the most exciting contemporary traditional music artists in distinct and special venues.

Gosh my heart could explode every tune ✨🤌🥰🖤⚡️🌹🌙💃💜
listened to this 100 times , just great heartfelt music
okay 1000 times now
@@jamiehitchcock6231 Me too 😊They're something else aren't they. Thought the audiences response was a bit lame though! They should have raised the roof after THAT performance !
When in galicia we started to heard scotish and irish and breton music whith the chieftines in the 70,s whe dreamed, just dreamed, that level is possible. Welcome talisk, the future i dreamed in my youth
Having an ad in middle of such a video is tragically disturbing
Thanks for pointing out the ad, we've removed this and will remove any adverts from within videos across the TRADtv channel.
Such a beautiful piece of music exquisitely played. What an absolute joy and privilege to see Talisk in Stirling 29/12/23. You MUST get to experience them live!
So insanely beautiful it almost makes you angry. The pinnacle of the art, thank you so much for giving us a small dose of your talent.
Just found them today. One of the happiest days I can recall
I'm climbing up the Cuillins listening to this beautiful music.
Absolutely Bloody amazing... what a sound !!!! It's not often a piece of music moves me to tears but this one did !
Oh, to be young and have that kind of energy again... They are phenomenally wonderful!
Absolutely wonderful. I do not know how many times I have played this... There is another recording on youtube of these pieces, but this one is the best
Quel bonheur quel joie d'écouter votre musique , cele me transporte et très envie de venir vivre chez vous
Pure joy distilled.
5:23 this is what music is about.

hey! madame Hayley, you are so sweet in your fiddle playing. I lie down! (a fiddler from France)
Thank you for this beautiful video! It's amazing how much skill and passion these people show live on stage!
The violin is amazing!
Bloody amazing!!
Wow, this is amazing!!! It really moved me. Thank you for your energy, thank you for sharing. ❤
素晴らしい!echoのアレンジで一番好きかも。旋律だけ聴くより、メンバーのテンションの昂りが刺激的な動画で聴くのが好き。叶うならライブで聴ければ最善!
This amazing video should have a million likes!
fantastic
Divine music...
such a sweet song
wow !
UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!
love!!!
Outstanding!
This is fantastic
It should be said that, even though Graeme Armstrong joined Talisk in 2017, he's not playing int this set. The guitar player here is Craig Irving :)
superb playing...
Superb! Thank you ❤
endless joy :)
As James Joyce might have said- there’s no word wonderful enough to describe it…
I want to get married to this exact composition... absolutely beautiful
Oh Yea!!!!!!!
I love this piece so much. It's got everything. Takes you on an epic ride! If anyone ever tells me that they can't get into trad music, I'm playing them this.
classieux ! bravo !
This set feels like the past waking up and transcending into the future, like every passing of spring into summer crashing into each other all at once, emotion distilled into a tungsten rod and dropped from the heavens to obliterate the present for one blessed moment.
youre not supposed to take all of the pretentious pills at once.
E...feckin....electric....unplugged🥳
Ceól go hana mhaith ar fád🙏🏻
Los muy débiles aplausos del público no son suficientes para la verdadera ovación que merecía tan excelsa muestra de talento, casi me hace llorar la ejecución del tipo de enmedio, maravilloso.
Una Pura Máquina atómica Graciucas !
There is an error: the guitar is Craig Irving. That being said, they are absolutely amazing
Questo è squisito! Ben fatto!
I am so in love with the violinist. But alas...
WOW x
There's that girl named Gregory again.😉 Sweet!!
I saw her first dammit!
@ TRADtv my apologies.the problem was on my end of the net in Australia
Thanks Arcusinoz! We were a bit puzzled because we think it sounds nice. We appreciate your feedback though and hope you enjoy the wonderful music we capture. Lots more coming up soon too!
Oh if I had only begun to play the concertina at 20 rather than 50. Maybe I could have achieved just a touch of this brilliance. More practice inspired
j adore ce groupe ou peut ton trouver un cd si possible en france
¿no tuviera la partitura de el tema? es bellisimo
What tuning is the guitarist in? I can't tell if it's a mix of standard and DADGAD (so EADGAD)
It's Standard
It's not every day you hear Celtic music in the key of E-major.
Celtic music?
@@allanmcdougall3214 that's right, the instruments played here are often used in Celtic Music ensembles.
@@marvinthemaniac7698 Where is Celticland? Music is of a form, of a tradition, associated with a place or nation or people. Celtic music is a crass marketing device to at best, bundle up some similar traditions or at worse, peddle some mystical new-age droney rubbish.
@@allanmcdougall3214 why do you say that?
@@allanmcdougall3214 While it is true that it is a marketing term and it has been abusively used by "mystical new-age drowney rubbish" I still like to call that celtic music, it means that it is not really trad and not necessarily associated with one country but it surely uses some trad patterns from Ireland/Scotland/Wales/Brittany/Galicia/...
Of course you can just call that folk music but it is less accurate imho.
Can anyone put the link to The Hills here please? Or is it known by another name? It's very beautiful but I don't know it and cant find it on the Session under 'the hills' or anywhere...Thanks!
Is this what you're looking for?

The Hills of Kaitoke by Catherine Fraser
Thanks! Found it and learnt it I love this tune so much!
A full sound with three "instruments". Sounds both old-time and modern (timeless). How do they flawlessly know the arrangement? (practice). Image what they'd be doing if they let the concertina player play a real musical instrument?
TRADtv need to learn a bit about recording music in a church................shocking audio quality!!! Lovely music needs to be heard properly.
Arcusinoz lovely ambience. I work as a producer.
Modern Trad: Airy fairy introduction followed by senseless breakneck speed reels.
I've had enough of this crap.
Ahh lad...
Please recommend some YT pages, please, that you like. I want to listen.
Oh Feargal this is wonderful !
@@1earflapping MIchéal Ó Domnhaill & Kevin Burke concert, I think a little after the break of the Bothy Band. Good timing, perfect swing and plenty of nyah.
You're welcome ;)
@@1earflapping Also, there's a wonderful video with Maggie Adamson & Brian Nicholson about half an hour long. Shetland music at Its best.
Beautiful !
