    The beauty of the stories fascinated my writer's mind, the sound of his voice made the stories feel complete, the way the words were used to explain some of the smallest details, opened my mind to possibles, that still hold themselves unknown.

      @jimlinds5018 Před 8 lety +2

      Don't worry Angie. Either way it doesn't make you the smartest person in the room. Btw is auto "incorrect" a thing? Like when your phone takes on human traits and tries to make an ass out of you? It totally works

    • @jimlinds5018
      @jimlinds5018 Před 8 lety +2

      Also at least Mary capitalized the start of each sentence. You couldn't even use a comma between incorrect and or, followed by the absence of comma between or and grammar. I can't believe you'd bang on an obvious misspell, while simultaneously calling spelling grammar. All the while using worse grammar (to the power of ten) just to troll some lady trying to pay Otis a compliment. Stay in your lane Ange. The adults are speaking around you...

    love this and so glad I found it looking up "the telltale heart' which brought me to this site. LOVE SCARY STORIES, love being read to and at least this way there's a chance of getting things done around my apt today without a t.v. screen to reel me in. But I'm finding this as equally distracting. Reminding me of my mom and dad telling us about life before television and their families huddling around the little radio in the living room...being told to turn off 'the idiot box' as they sold me on the joy of reading with a promise for more terror at the hands of my own imagination rather than entrusting someone else's. They were right as usual.

    Really liked "Esteban". I used to be a child psychologist and an attorney who represented children (often against "child protection" people) and I can related to that story. Adults can be so evil. Of course, I never went so far as the teacher, but the truth is that sometimes I wished I could have done the same thing. Real life can be worse than a horror story.

  • @pinkiepie6880
    @pinkiepie6880 Před 2 lety

    Aww Dhost made me sad and Esteban pulled at my heart strings and (thankfully) had a happy ending! I was expecting the latter story to go in very different direction; like Esteban was lying and was going to make out the music teacher assaulted him (only because another teacher had got in trouble for abusing him), or that Esteban was a ghost or demon haha
    I do love the creepy stories (I've read a couple Stephen King short story collections). I recently got into audiobooks to help me sleep, and I came across Children of the Corn, and I laughed at a few parts. Don't know if it was the way it was narrated or the content. But 1408 was pretty scary read by Stephen King himself. Recently I've got into creepy pastas so this is a treat!

    Dhost just broke my heart into pieces…I had a precious lil girl who cried for her daddy all the time. When I left his abusive controlling ways, he wanted to punish & hurt me, so he abandoned her.
    When finally she had the opportunity to get to know him, when she was 18…he passed away.
    I will never heal over the loss she still suffers from.
    Do not be so selfish that you hurt innocent hearts. Because they will be hurt forever.
    And I promise you, it will be an even greater loss to you. A child needs both parents. So grow up. Or keep your “organs” to yourself.
    Edit
    I’d also love to female dog slap Anna

      I'm sorry to hear that but even single Mum's can do a great job raising their children, as you no doubt have.
      Women continue to amaze me; not only do they create life, but work, look after their children, spend most of their day running around after them... cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, entertaining guests, and yet still make time to do things for others, such as family and friends! Obviously there are great single Dad's out there too, but it never ceases to amaze me what women are capable of, even if left on their own!
      P.S. Dhost really pulled at my heartstrings too... rather than being a horror or creepypasta, I found it sad.
      P.P.S. Originally I was going to include a couple paragraphs about my own traumatic early childhood, a few toxic relationships (including abuse) and my own issues, but I felt that it subtracted from the message I wanted to get across - that Mum's are like Super Heroes! But I'd like you to know that I feel for you, and although our experiences wouldn't be exactly the same, I've dealt them all the same. Except for having a child!

    Listening to 'Home'; after many nights of never making it that far as I fall asleep (it's helping my insomnia; as I wake up several times a night, I can just keep listening before drifting off again and again!)...
    When I heard the part about the camp caretaker drugging the kids with sleeping pills I had to go back and listen to it again because I thought I'd misheard it haha how crazy!
    SPOILER:
    Now I know why he drugged them... 😳
    This really took a turn I wasn't expecting! The caretaker seemed like a really kind, caring guy that really felt for the orphaned children. Boy, was I misguided. Maybe I just wanted to believe it, after him reassuring Conner and giving him a pat on the head and a wink. Or waxing on about how the orphans really appreciated nature, unlike the spoilt rich kids. But now I realize the 'winners' are really losers... or at least one of them was. Creepy. All for money, even though they get sponsored by rich clientele to house their kids all Summer, while the poor orphans are the ones they murder because no one will look for them.
    Reminds me of the sad reality of a lot of true crime I've read or watched where the lower class or outliers of society are taken advantage of and murdered, how the police claim the children are just runaways, or the prostitutes have moved on to a different pimp or state. It's how so many murderers have become prolific serial killers. Like the case of the Yorkshire Ripper. The police completely disregarded the victims that were sex workers, and failed to recognize a pattern as he had also attacked women who weren't prostitutes (a survivor's witness statement that the perpetrator had a Yorkshire accent was completely disregarded, which later hampered the investigation), one of many things the police would overlook.
