有兩個原因，第一個原因是undercollar是bias cut的，用布片可保留其bias特性，因為undercollar會進行燙拔，如果用燙扑，不利燙拔。第二個原因top collar領尖會褶來完成，用布片會太厚，樸比較薄，褶得靚啲。
