It's so good to be able to hear the full question and also, frankly, to be able to see the press members as they ask their questions, their mannerisms and some of the personality and nuance coming thru. This is what sets NOF apart man. Absolute attention to the finest details for the best experience for viewers / followers. Keep it up yall
This is how all press conferences should be formatted. Huge improvement. The only thing I would suggest is maybe a duel/split-screen, keeping the reporters & Mickey both onscreen simultaneously.
That should be the philosophy but it’s not. The Saints are a bad drafting team that prioritizes needs over BPA. Example: BPA when the Saints were on the clock at #40 last draft was Brian Branch. But as we know they went with Foskey because DL was a bigger need at the time. And predictably, Branch was a DRoY candidate for the Lions whilst Foskey is looking like a waste of a pick. Good drafting teams prioritize BPA, bad drafting team prioritize positional needs. The Saints are the latter.
Why do we interview Micky before the draft, when he can’t say a word, and no one really wants him to tip his hand? How about right after. So he can say, we got a steal! Etc etc 😊
Not sure who asked it, but the question about not being confident with *either* starting tackle currently being on the roster was an excellent question. Mickey started to spew out his regular line of bullshit, but his brain short-circuited mid-sentence when he realized it wouldn’t make any sense and he couldn’t BS his way out of the question. I’m completely over Loomis… he says the worst part of his job is dealing with the media (because answering media questions is the only semblance of accountability he faces at his job), and likewise, listening to his bullshit is one of the worst parts of being a Saints fan. I can deal with all the mistakes and draft busts and terrible personnel decisions, but his monster ego and open contempt for the fanbase is what makes him so damn unlikeable. I will celebrate the day this guy is gone from the Saints organization.
