What a beautiful dog. When I lost my dog, I stayed with her in the vets office for 10 or more hours because I just couldn’t let her go. I had her for 18 years and it was one of the worst pains I’ve experienced in my life. I can’t wait to see her in heaven one day. God loans us His angels for a while. He knows we need them.
When I had to put my Border Collie of 15 years down at the Vet clinic because his health was making him suffer I felt so guilty and still do to this day. I miss you Lucky my friend 😭

I lost my Boston terrier 2 years ago, he was 13 years also. I don’t have a lot of family or friends so losing him hurt like nothing else. I haven’t gotten another pet either, not sure if I ever want to go through that loss again.
I have always thought of myself as tough. Former Army MP, college football, etc. Coach for 23 years. .... BUT ... when my little Magic died, I wept like a little girl for about 2 days. RIP Magic

I’ll share this with you on behalf of your best mate. My own Rocky-95# pit mix, had bone cancer. He loved the duck pond. At the end we went once again to his favorite spot, he was resting on a blanket I put out, just gazing at the water as the ducks went by. We got up for what would be his last walk there, he was knuckling - dragging his front paw. A nice couple came up n said ‘hurt ur leg big boy?’ I stammered ‘no, he has cancer. They looked so sad. I told em not to be, cuz today he’s watching ducks again and he doesn’t know he has cancer. He’s just walking with his BFF, n licking her face. Today is a good day for this boy. Maybe this helps. I dunno. Be well and so very sorry for your loss.
The best thing we can do for our beloved furry family members is stay with them as we are letting them go. Eventhough it hurts like our hearts are being ripped out they deserve for the Last thing they are aware of is someone who loves them. So sorry for your loss but I have known the same sorrow and I understand.
So sorry for your loss. He was a beautiful dog. Hardest part about owning a animal or even having one as a friend. Like a friend's or neighbor's cat, dog is when their no longer with us to love and enjoy. it never gets any easier to say good bye. I'm sad even when a neighbor moves for a reason and their friendly pet is no longer around. To say hello to every day on the street or in their yard, etc. At least he had a great life with you and your family and friends.
What a beautiful, happy looking dog, I lost my 13 year old German shepherd in 2021, it's still painful, but he had an amazing life, just like your gorgeous boy.
Sorry for your loss, i only lost my best buddy on the 6th Jan to a snake bite, i was his 3rd owner when he was 2 but i spent 4yrs with him and in that time he learnt to love and be loved, he developed from a unsure boy to a beautiful soul. I bawled every day for a month when he passed, like someone said the pain is terrible at losing a dearly loved pet. Dogs beat people paws down.
Our beautiful Flat Coated Retriever baby died 1.5 years ago after 12.5 years. It still hurts so much like loosing a part of your soul. Still got her beloved Winnie Pooh and an ever burning electric candle next to our bed where she slept. I totally feel your pain and loss! And before he died he got to raise a kitten for a year and a half, now he's gone and the cat acts like a dog lol because that's who raised him. So our cat don't know how to act around other cats but throw him in with the dogs and he's 1 of the crew.... Has zero fear of dogs... Don't even know he's a cat lol does everything a dog would do even plays fetch for hours ...crazy how nature works.

Brutal. I lost my belioved Apache (a long-haired GSD) I had for 10 wonderful yrs. I had to help him make the journey across that rainbow bridge twi yrs ago this April. Each time I have to do this for one of my dogs, it is that much harder and more deeply painful because the feelings of loss and helplessness stack one on the other. RIP Ramses. Look up Apache. I think you'll be best buds.

When we lost our Jack Russell it really hurt me. We have a beagle who is 13 and I worry everyday because she is a member of our family. Even though we get new dogs after the other dogs pass away, you never fully get past it
I have a German Shepherd/ Rottweiler mix. She is all German Shepherd except for the coloring and amount of fur. 70 lbs of pure muscle. She is 9 years old now. And it's starting to show. Can't do the same things she used to. She is my best friend. It's the circle of life, I get that. I've had other dogs, but never this close to any of them.
Sounds like your German Shepherd is your soul dog. My boy Brooklyn died May 8th. 100 pounds of pure love. He was a Goldendoodle and my soulmate ❤ dog. I cry everyday.

I've adopted 6 old unwanted and abused German shepherd. They lived a happy spoilt life and died with me with them. The pain never gets easy . Sending hugs for your loss
It's heart breaking when we have to say good bye to our beautiful fur babies, but we can't let them suffer when they are sick and old. I have had four beautiful boys, two German Shepherds, one Husky X and a Mongrel, I currently have Susy and she is now 12 years old I loved them all and miss by boys terribly every day and hope one day we will meet again.
This is always the hardest part of having a loyal pet, but it still doesn’t outweigh all the pleasure they five and we have to be strong and be there for them in their final moments , as hard as it is! great Video!
All they want is to love you and to be loved. We lost our girl Melanie 3 years ago to kidney failure. When she got sick she rallied and got much better. The vet said she shouldn’t even be walking and he said she didn’t want to leave us. He said he never saw such love from a family or from a dog. We had her three more years she wasn’t suffering but one day she just was We were with her with her favorite toy and blanket. We stayed with her afterwards. The vet was even choked up. I swore never again I couldn’t have my heart broken like that again. Then one day we were donating food to the animal shelter and walked out so to an 85 pound Rhodesian ridgeback She sleeps with us eats with us goes in the car with us everywhere we go. I need a bigger bed.

Brutal. I lost my belioved Apache (a long-haired GSD) I had for 10 wonderful yrs. I had to help him make the journey across that rainbow bridge twi yrs ago this April. Each time I have to do this for one of my dogs, it is that much harder and more deeply painful because the feelings of loss and helplessness stack one on the other. RIP Ramses. Look up Apache. I think you'll be best buds.
I understand your pain. I lost a big golden many years ago and i'll never forget him. Never have a dog again...too much pain.

When we lost our Jack Russell it really hurt me. We have a beagle who is 13 and I worry everyday because she is a member of our family. Even though we get new dogs after the other dogs pass away, you never fully get past it
I have a German Shepherd/ Rottweiler mix. She is all German Shepherd except for the coloring and amount of fur. 70 lbs of pure muscle. She is 9 years old now. And it's starting to show. Can't do the same things she used to. She is my best friend. It's the circle of life, I get that. I've had other dogs, but never this close to any of them.
Sounds like your German Shepherd is your soul dog. My boy Brooklyn died May 8th. 100 pounds of pure love. He was a Goldendoodle and my soulmate ❤ dog. I cry everyday.

It's heart breaking when we have to say good bye to our beautiful fur babies, but we can't let them suffer when they are sick and old. I have had four beautiful boys, two German Shepherds, one Husky X and a Mongrel, I currently have Susy and she is now 12 years old I loved them all and miss by boys terribly every day and hope one day we will meet again.

All they want is to love you and to be loved. We lost our girl Melanie 3 years ago to kidney failure. When she got sick she rallied and got much better. The vet said she shouldn’t even be walking and he said she didn’t want to leave us. He said he never saw such love from a family or from a dog. We had her three more years she wasn’t suffering but one day she just was We were with her with her favorite toy and blanket. We stayed with her afterwards. The vet was even choked up. I swore never again I couldn’t have my heart broken like that again. Then one day we were donating food to the animal shelter and walked out so to an 85 pound Rhodesian ridgeback She sleeps with us eats with us goes in the car with us everywhere we go. I need a bigger bed.
