This performance/event, was absolutely a prime example of evolution.
It not only showed the growth of Eminem himself, with Slim Shady owning the stage, to Marshall growing to the greatest version of himself,
but it also showed the growth of music as a whole, and the way artists capitalize on the changes of media, and Eminem and his teams ability to navigate the structure and remain relevant and new by changing the performances, and never bending to be what others want you to be. Marshall doesn't want to be Shady again, he's grown; but Shady will always be part of him.
This also showed the growth of gaming, going from a grounded garage style Guitar Hero game play, to something significantly more advanced then we have ever seen.
Eminem is an example of someone who can grow, and defy what we as an audience expect. He is no longer playing in clubs, he is no longer a grounded artist, and he has so many assets he doesn't even need to be making anything. He could stop right now, and he'd never have to do a thing again. But he does it because he enjoys it, and the challenges he's overcome, the obstacles he has faced, and the climate he has contributed so much in to it's growth, he's earned his place; and he is not stopping. The crash of the server, as well as Xbox Live proves that he is still shattering records, and bodying any environment he chooses to perform in. Whether you're a Fortnite fan or not, or even a gamer, there is no denying this was something special.
