I think the whole unique beauty of this granny square comes from the lighter #3 Mandala Cake and the unique stitch pattern you have come up with. These squares could be put together to make lots of different things.

I can honestly say this is the first granny square that I really like. Actually I love it. I will be making this. Crystal thank you so very much. I wish I could make it to the retreat this year but financially we just cant do it. I started saving so I can make it next year. Im a very down to earth person and so honest that it can and has even gotten me into deep water. I see the same quality in you and Mr. Bod. Until next time have a great day and stay safe.
Im thinking of using these for a cardigan. I did the other cardigan using the galaxy squares and i think this square would be good for a bit colder weather! Thanks for the great ideas!

Ha allergic to blocking! I know the feeling :) In 40 years of crochet I have never blocked, never swatched, and for goodness sake, do people really measure their squares?? I just make them as big as I want and go with it. Garments, sure. But squares?

Yay ! Another Granny Square ..Thank you so much for sharing Crystal ! I lucked out at my Walmart today and got 13 of the clearance Mandala that was $2.50 for $1 each!
I used the color Serpent and got 3 full 14" squares with a bit left over using a 5mm hook so I can use it with another cake of Serpent and make more squares I plan to make enough to make a small afghan. Thank you Crystal!!
I used this and the galaxy square to make throw pillows. They work super well. By reducing the hook size I can make a 12” or make the full sized version. Love both patterns.
I was able to make 3 out of 1 mandala cake. There is even enough left to use for attaching them together. I love how different each one came out. I’m not sure what I’m going to make yet but love the pattern.
I bought 4 rolls of Mandalay yarn (.99 ea) couldn't pass up bargain but didn't know what to make. I am almost through with Afghan using this design. Thank you for easy instructions.
