That is one way to look at it but I can tell you that whether it was supplied to me or not, this is a REALLY good sleep pad. I had its earlier iteration, which I paid for (twice), and it was awesome...until it wasn't. This pad should have, hopefully, solved the singular issue its predecessor had in long-term durability.
Take it for what it is worth.
