Its very much like Varic to make modern jokes. I think that is why he is relatable. I always felt like it was a way of breaking the forth wall.
We're used to him telling the story but I get the feeling that he might actually die in this one to pass the baton to the next generation of heroes. I wonder if they will bring back the Inquisitor, I remember romancing Solas in one playthrough so I wonder how they will tie that in.
On a side note, I did wish that they stuck with the other character designs for Solas or at least changed his design for this one. Other than that, I am kinda excited to play this and hope to see some old faces and have more explorations of this "new" world.

So those two at the end were the locked away evanuris, Elgar'nan and Ghil'anain. Rook's actions caused him to accidentally free them when he was just relocating them. In doing what they did, rook's blood got mixed into the ritual connecting them to the veil and Solas but Solas is also now locked in the fade. I'm astounded anyone ever thought Varric was in danger there, but I've been very worried for Solas. He doesn't die right there, but that doesn't mean he won't die like five minutes after.
Mary Kirby and David Gaider being gone, along with others, makes me skeptical about the future. At least there's Exodus, which looks like it's shaping up to be what Mass Effect should've been. I'm honestly more excited for that than Veilguard, because even if I love it, maybe the next DA will be twenty years out and made by strangers.

I'm a little wary of what you mentioned about one-button basic attack combos. it really looked like that, I hope that's not the case cuz it'll get old fast.
My other concern is the lack of skill uses, 98% of the combat in this video was just basic attack spam. it's fine if there's some kind of light and heavy attack combo and varied attacks but again, if it's just the one-button basic attack, it's gonna be awful! I wish they had more skills unlocked in this video.
I also wonder if we'll get the tactical cam and the time pauses. I really enjoyed that in the Inquisition, I doubt they'll remove it in favor of pushing the action. but not showing it in the gameplay reveal worries me!

Maybe it isnt a choice that varric wants to talk solas down because of inquisition trespasser, like in the world state this gameplay is bassed on, the inquisitor choose to try and save solas from himself at the end and not to hunt him down, so maybe if the inquisitor decided he wanted to kill him, the choice would be swapped varric would want to kill him, and not listen to someone he newly knows compared to the inquisitor whom hes known longer and trusts? Idk might be reaching but that would be super cool that previous games could have such a huge impact 😅

I respect the work you put into making the video, i respect your open mindedness, and i respect your general positivity you show towards the games, but a lot of the stuff you said in the beginning of the video was just blatantly untrue and only serves to fuel the ongoing nonsensical hate that the game and studio is getting right now. The game was never at any point remotely close to being an "overwatch" type gameplay loop. There was a point in 2017ish that the studio was looking to include more live service elements into the game (like the underutilized live service optional mode of DA Inquisition, but baked into the core gameplay. It was still going to be an RPG at its core though. That was also scrapped years ago. Anything you saw in the trailer has created long after the decision to keep it a streamlined, offline RPG was made. The trailer was just a...questionable....art decision on their part perhaps trying to cater to a wider audience of gamers who perhaps never played any previous DA games. It should also be noted that many game trailers are made by third party companies who specialize in the process, so the general art direction of it might not have even been a Bioware decision. Not sure if that's the case here, but worth noting.
Really i'm just exhausted by the people who hate on the game purely because it doesn't feel like dark fantasy the same was origins did. Never understood that criticism because no game since origins has had the same vibe. DA2 was a marked departure from dark fantasy, and DA inquisition scapped the genre altogether. There are still dark themes in the game, but that's not what dark fantasy is. The lore is much better established now and I'm happy that each game offers its own themes and general identity. I look forward to seeing the unique vibes and art style that this game offers.

In DAI, who you chose to be automatically locked you out of romancing some characters and made romancing others viable. As much as BG3 was a 10/10, all the romances were the same and became boring after multiple playthroughs. I am concerned that they did a lot of generic things in this game and if they went generic with the romances, what else did they do generic? This game looks like most games...sadly. BG3 was amazing and learning a different style of combat, turn-based, felt like playing chest while using swords. The original DA games all had variations of turned-based and ARPG with pause, I am too disappointed because it doesn't look that different in combat than all the others and I was hoping for a Dragon Age unique style of combat.

The environments look fine. The demons look too generic, and I’m personally not a big fan of the departure of their look that’s already been established from the previous 3 GAMES. The characters look like they’ve been ripped straight from fortnight or league of legends. Knowing a bit more than what’s just seen in this particular video, they got a little carried away with the character creator. I like having lots of choices as much as the next person, but “bulge” size ? And “glute” size ? Yeah, I couldn’t care less. And pronouns !? Please ! 🤦‍♂️ we’ve had characters like Sera and Dorian in Inquisition. I loved them. Were they gay ? Yes. Did they shove that down players throats ? NO ! And that’s how it SHOULD be. Leave your DEI, woke garbage out please. Or even better, make your own game, instead of riding the coattails of other already established series, see how it sells. But stop ruining beloved franchises like Dragon Age, Silent Hill 2, and Assassin’s Creed. Claiming to be making these recent, horrifying changes in the name of “modern audiences”. You had ONE JOB BioWare. To simply continue the narrative that had already been established in Inquisition. I don’t really care for what I’m seeing displayed, or for the nuts and bolts of the game, but let’s see how they did with the story itself.

Im sorry but-- How do pronouns ruin the game? I personally can't care less about pronouns, but its just another option to choose or not, how is this such a problem 😅 Bg3 also had it, right?

I haven’t played BG3, so I couldn’t tell you. And no. Pronouns in and of themselves aren’t a “problem”, but when something is being shoved in your face, demanding your attention, for me personally, it just makes me want to have nothing to do with it. For example, in Inquisition we had Dorian and Sera. Both are great characters. Both are gay. Does that matter ? No. Unless you’re wanting to romance one of them, if that’s the case, then you create your Inquisitor accordingly. But it wasn’t something shoved in your face. More than the thing itself, more often it’s the reason WHY it’s being included. Do you recall in games past that included the use of pronouns ? No ! Because it doesn’t matter ! Just like the pandering “diversity” in games currently, or the “uglification” of women in games. It’s WHY it’s being implemented that’s the issue. In all honesty, I’m not crazy about what I see in the gameplay trailer for “veilguard”, but I’m still holding out hope that the story itself is still compelling.

@@jamesknott5255 I think you are making it bigger then it actually is. I think it’s gonna ask you once what your pronouns are and the characters will refer to you as so. If it’s such a problem then just… hear me out… if you are going to play Male then use he/him. Same thing if you are going to play a Female. You’ll never be asked again.

Oh haha. Like I’ve already stated, the pronouns in and of themselves isn’t the point, it’s the simple fact that they’re being introduced 🤔 at all. It shouldn’t even be a thing. And with people continuing with the mindset of “oh, it’s not that big a deal” is partly what’s gotten things to the point they have, and no, not JUST with the whole “pronouns” thing. If these dei people wanna develop their own games, great ! I wish them all the luck in the world. But I don’t like that they’re “mandating” to game developers that they HAVE to include stuff like this “or else”. It’s just my own opinion of course, and I totally understand others disagreeing with me. But I also know I’m not in the minority in feeling like this with current games coming out. I DO want this game to be great.

@@jamesknott5255 I want the game to be great too, I think its the way that you phrased the comment made it sound hostile to an extent. It follows a similar thing with how people are going "this game woke so its bad" etc etc. One of the three things (maybe four) things stated before your woke sentence is the pronouns while the other three are glute and bulge size. Are all those 'woke' because the term of it has been thrown around. For example, by calling a game with a gay character mentioning they have a boyfriend as 'woke'. Whats shoving down your throat exactly cause unless they have a magic surgeon you aren't gonna get an option to have bulge, glute and pronouns unless in the character creator which from my understanding will show up ONCE evry playthrough.
If you buy the game just don't engage with these elements and you'll have a enjoyable experience. Please explain to me the term 'woke' by your standards that should be left out of gaming. I will say personally I have played through all three games and the DLC. Origins is the best imo.
