It’s illegal to indefinitely encamp private property so it’s not considered protest but as trespassing. Also students have right to protest without disrupting normal university functionalities. Because of these environment students who come to universities just for studies and not for activism, can’t attend regular classes.

The fact of the matter is, when you say people do not have the right to protest you are undermining the same freedom which has allowed you to live the life you do today. You are on the side of the British, The Racists, The Misogynists, The War Mongeres, all who claimed that these protests were 'illegal', but was in legality? A codified book which is subject to change? There comes a point where we must stand for morality. Freedom for some must be freedom for all. If you side with the people in power on this issue, eventually you're rights will be the next to be stripped away and nobody will be there to help you. These protests are what it means to be American, yet the police state and government are sending in military to confine the civilians. The point of the US constitution was that civilians can rise up and overthrow corrupt people, yet people forget that it is We the People.
