I think nobody doesn't like Creedence. I was lucky enough to see them on their first tour. It was 1969. I was in the Navy, our ship was at Pearl Harbor and I saw them in Honolulu. I got there early and got up close. Sure wish I could remember more of the concert but there's been a lot of leaves between the trees since then. Great reaction.
John Fogarty sings plays guitar and harmonica. They do this live at Woodstock 69, you should check it out. Changing the subject a bit, John Popper is probably the most prolific harmonica player I've ever heard. He does a cover of Bob Marleys No Woman No Cry with Bob's son Ziggy that will blow your mind. I promise you've never heard a harmonica solo like this. I'd love to see your reaction to it.
One of my favorite CCR songs….a deep cut that never gets played. I remember getting pretty stoned one day in college and playing my kazoo all the way through this track. I had no voice for a day afterwards. 🤘😁
John fogerty on lead guitar, harmonica and lead singer .,simply a rock and roll hall of fame god.......along with his brother on drums and friends on bass and rythum guitar..........awesome.....
I think I read a comment awhile back, can't remember who or when, sorry about that. But they wrote CCR music was like "southern swamp blues" or something similar to that. I like that, it does have that kind of sound. And they are from northern California! They are amazing, no matter what, they can get you foot tapping and shoulders moving, even if your body hurts and moods are low.
Wow! I'm impressed! I mean for such a younger-brotha' to be into Fogarty and CCR..I didn't expect to witness this!. I HAD to sub you right away. OK....to put CCR and this type of music we used to call "SWAMP ROCK" into perspective....... i'm almost 69.....and my 50th high school reunion in Tucson is in 5 days..Sept 8 2023...I'm so STOKED! Anyhow, this was taped and released nationwide when I was just a sophomore in high school....a LONG time ago. EVERYBODY in school seemingly was heavy into CCR and we'd blast this stuff thru big amps and our 8-tracks out in the desert at our huge "Boonie" parties. Oh hell yes. Shows how some stuff can hold up and grab you and not let go for decades. This song is one BAD MF! CCR kept cranking out one BAD MOFO after another...it was heaven on Earth! Understand that in '70....America's youth had been turning onto weed and psychedelics for a good 7-8 years already ...and this movement swept the country. CCR's Music was and IS ideal for just kicking back in a bean-bag chair on the floor..haha.....spinning the vinyl on the turntable and with a great weed buzz going......let this heavy , repetitive-groove-with psychedelic feedback galore thrown in just melt your brain and FLOAT YOUR AZZAWAY! See....we BOOMERS knew what was happenin'' ! God Bless you all and God Bless America and all those who dig John Fogarty and CCR! Thank you for featuring him and his band. P.S. He's STILL AT IT and touring constantly. Word is....he still sounds frickkin' bad ass! jbeintucson
side two of this album "bayou country" is one if the best r&r sides ever. it begins with a cover of little richard's "good golly miss molly." an excellent rendition. the rest of songs were all penned by john fogerty. "penthouse pauper" is the next song followed by their standard classic "proud mary." the album side ends with "keep on chooglin'" a 7 minute long opus which mixes wonderful harmonica work with a kick ass guitar solo. the song rocks and never stops. that's one of the best album sides in r&r history.
I grew up on the great music of the 60's-70's. CCR has always been one of my favorites. They don't have a bad song! John Fogerty has one of the most unique & recognizable voices around.
This is what you get when you go into CCR albums....not the sweet short tunes fit for the radio airwaves....but these long jam sessions on their albums!!!!!
Never cared enough for the radio songs to buy an album. Boy did I miss out. This was great. The real gems are often the album deep cuts. Wish more reactors beside Chod would take a chance on the more obscure songs. Thank you whoever suggested this.
Thanks for finally getting to this. It was their 1st album I think. John Fogerty lead singer lead guitar harmonica excellent Doug Clifford just beating the hell out of those drums and Stu pluckin that bass just amazing. Thanks Chod;
That song is the finale of my all time favorite album side: Lead off: Good Golly Miss Molly - rip roaring CCR take on the 1950's classic, uptempo, crazy lead guitar from John. Batting 2nd: Penthouse Pauper - bluesy riff with some of my favorite CCR lyrics and some tasty leads in between. Batting third: Proud Mary - the Babe Ruth of CCR songs, their biggest hit, and best arranged and orchestrated song, with AM radio hooks, but with enough CCR/Fogerty twang to keep deeper fans happy, and batting clean-up, the aforementioned closing jam, Keep on Choogling. That whole album side (Side 2 of "Bayou Country") is 20 minutes of pure CCR bliss!
With killers, Born on the Bayou and Bootleg on the other side, for good measure. Hard to beat this amazing band, they had everything, musicianship, soul, know how the less is more vibe works, and great friendship....... well, when they were putting this stuff out at least.
I was really disappointed when I found out they were from Northern California instead of Mississippi. I think Fogerty still performs today and he sounds as good as he did at Woodstock.
Awesome. But you have to check out "Hideawy" and "It's Just a Thought"...such soul and passion. Please man, check 'em out. Some of their most beautiful tracks.
You want to give a shout out to someone holding a beat FOREVER and it makes the song? Waddy Wachtel on lead guitar on Stevie Nick’s huge hit On theEdge of Seventeen. And he suggested the riff….I’ve watched him hold down that riff live for minutes on end, while Stevie takes her time getting onstage. All I could think of was how sore his arm must be the next day.
I've offered up to you a tune you'd love many times. I'm not a paying subscriber so I'm ignored. The band is Little Feat. The song is "Spanish Moon" from the live "Waiting for Columbus". Your loss.
You don’t have to pay to sub! Or to connect through Instagram or FB. Patreon, yes. But you are competing for attentions with thousands of others. It’s not personal, dude. I love Little Feat myself, so it’s a good suggestion, but you guarantee he won’t listen to it when you throw attitude at him.

The finale to all their concerts. Would leave the crowd breathless.
CCR is so amazing, they could do an entire 7-minute song like this, on one chord, and it still sounds awesome.
When John says "you gotta ball and have a good time" he ain't talking about basketball.
😁
Ramble Tamble is a golden nugget
One of my favorite CCR songs….a deep cut that never gets played. I remember getting pretty stoned one day in college and playing my kazoo all the way through this track. I had no voice for a day afterwards. 🤘😁
John fogerty on lead guitar, harmonica and lead singer .,simply a rock and roll hall of fame god.......along with his brother on drums and friends on bass and rythum guitar..........awesome.....
Almost right, Johns brother Tom played rhythm guitar, Stu Cook on bass, & Doug Clifford on drums👍✌️
The beginning groove of this tune is very cool, then the harmonica comes in.....oh ya.
LOL!!! Every time I hear CCR after a long break, I always wonder why it's been so long. They really were exceptional.

This and Ramble Tamble two of my favourite CCR songs that few have heard of.
The first two albums are phenomenal.
John Fogerty played Lead vocals/Lead guitar and harmonica.
John Fogerty is great. That rhythm section really shines in these old CCR songs.
The lead singer is John Fogerty who is also lead guitarist and harmonica player. Great song! Excellent reaction!
Please try "The Old Man Down The Road" by John Foggerty from his solo career.
Great riff @ harmonica ever 😊

Agree ..we boomers lived the best of the music ..todays stuff isnt music ..its crap

Down on the Corner from the album Willy and the Poorboys
Great tune. Why have all the other reactors missed it? Banger
I’ve requested many times….Chod is the first one to actually do it!
@@w.geoffreyspaulding6588 Live it is even better......
A couple have done it, not many though..
I keep asking for it!
Whoa! I forgot about this song. Epic jam!✌🏻
I love me some Credence and some Chooglin.. rock on!
I grew up on the great music of the 60's-70's. CCR has always been one of my favorites. They don't have a bad song! John Fogerty has one of the most unique & recognizable voices around.
Slappin da bass...

Glad you finally found this one. Great job.
Love your videos!
Thanks, I needed that!

Who doesn't want this playing at their back yard bbq
For one of their best but most unknown try Graveyard Train
Gotta love how they use the one guitar chord as percussion through the entire song.
John Fogerty, CCR. Always fantastic.
We listened to this album quite a bit at parties back in the day. Good stuff.☺️
There is a great live version from Woodstock. Not that this isn't great but it's great to see them live in the early days.
I was really disappointed when I found out they were from Northern California instead of Mississippi. I think Fogerty still performs today and he sounds as good as he did at Woodstock.
Love them, love the song, love your genuine reactions and analysis 💕
The lead singer John Forgery is on the lead guitar. He does everything.
Fogerty sounds better
lead vocals, lead guitar, harmonica, background vocals, organs, sax, composes, arranges and produces.
@@love-vy1ry forgery sounds like a fake to me.
❤️❤️❤️❤️👍
Pedal to the Metal
Live versions are even better, Royal Albert Hall, Paris & Oakland
Fogerty was so great at creating a Bayou vibe even though he was raised in NoCal.
Sweet hitch-hiker please.
Please do SWEET HITCH HIKER and UP AROUND THE BEND by CCR
Awesome. But you have to check out "Hideawy" and "It's Just a Thought"...such soul and passion. Please man, check 'em out. Some of their most beautiful tracks.
Chod I would like if you tried Only The Lonely by The Motels. Great song with a nice saxophone 🎷 riff.
A nickname for the harmonica is the Mississippi saxophone.
Bootleg, Commotion, Good Golly Miss Molly, Cross Tie Walker
The lead singer, John Fogarty, also had a solo career. You should check out his song "CENTERFIELD, I always listen to it on baseball opening day.
Its Fogerty héhé
You are so right. Stupid auto correct, I didn't even notice.
First listen for me too.
You want to give a shout out to someone holding a beat FOREVER and it makes the song? Waddy Wachtel on lead guitar on Stevie Nick’s huge hit On theEdge of Seventeen. CCR has a limited catalog. So enjoy what is out there.
Ramble Tamble mamble sample.
CCR Chooglin
CCR!!!!please react to live performance.
Try ‘joy of my life’, a song the lead singer John Fogerty done during his solo career. Blue Moon Swamp album. Seriously good stuff.
Yes, damn good stuff is right! He won a Grammy for the album👍✌️
It's schmaltz and sickeningly syrupy compared to his CCR stuff. Worst song he ever recorded, after Rude Awakening No 2 !
😊👍
Chad, listen to Lodi or Stuck in Lodi
I've offered up to you a tune you'd love many times. I'm not a paying subscriber so I'm ignored. The band is Little Feat. The song is "Spanish Moon" from the live "Waiting for Columbus". Your loss.
Don't be so petty. You think you are the only one out here with requests. Chill dude!!
I love little feat

I'd like to help you in your endeavor to be free.
your microphone volume is WAY too low, i can barely hear you
The harp guitar and vocals all the same guy
You will not hear a BETTER harmonica
The bass man …just listen
