  • At the end of March 2011, Bill Nelson and the Gentlemen Rocketeers, along with one hundred plus guests, populated Studio A at Metropolis Studios, West London, England for a dynamite concert reminiscent of the Marquee Club in its heyday. A blistering fourteen song set from the band, which covers much of Bill's career to date, was the result. Available as a CD/DVD set and to download.

I truly respect Bill's guitar playing, but what love most about his artistry , is his lyrics. I absolutely love his songs and the poetry they encapsulate.

I am totally amazed how great Bill Nelson still sounds after all these years. In fact, as I'm writing this I cant see the video and there is no way I could differentiate between todays Bill and 70's Bill. Fantastic!!

A classic, bought the single around 75-76 while at school, then I played the B-side ' Crying to the sky' wow ! incredible , Bill had such an influence on the late great Stuart Adamson as well, Bill is a guitar legend, vastly underated in my opinion.

I saw Bebop a couple of times in the seventies and was blown away by two things: number one Bill's absolute guitar mastery and their completely stylish look. I was a rock band fan and the universal dress code was long hair and denims. When I first saw Bill, Charlie and the others (I didn't know the keyboards player's and drummer's names at the time so I'm not going to pretend I did)
walk out onto the stage, at Birmingham Town Hall I think it was, I thought what's this, a bunch of bank managers formed a band they'll be offering mortgages in a minute. That is until they started to play. It was just fantastic to see. I bought the albums and loved the band from that moment on. In these karaoke times of auto tuners and effects this reminds me of the real thing. Rock on Bill.
