Legit, Summer Belongs To You changed my life. It came out the summer I graduated high school while I was prepping for college and made me understand I shouldn't just watch my life go by. Phineas and Ferb always had the vibe of making the most of your time, but it didn't really hit me until the special because there was actual tension involved. I remember feeling so much relief when they just barely succeeded in the end. The final song lives in my soul as one of my biggest inspirations in my life. Candace's verse in particular makes me very emotional because unlike her brothers, she actually feels limited.
BTW, Beautiful Gorgeous' dream job was revealed in the sequel episode. IIRC, she wanted to be someone who glues aglets onto shoes.

Honestly, of all the shows that did event episodes, SpongeBob probably did them the worst, mainly because they would go all out on commercials, marathons, tie-in promotions and everything to hype them up as epic events, only for the actual episodes to be some of the most boring and forgettable ones in the entire show. How many people can vividly remember any really good jokes or fun action from episodes like Pest of the West, Spongebob's Last Stand, The Clash of Triton, SpongeBob vs. the Big One, or A Squarepants Family Vacation? It seems like they're only ever brought up when discussing how Nickelodeon overhyped them, because more often than not there was just nothing exciting about how those episodes were executed, and most SpongeBob fans would rather talk about the really good or really bad episodes over the really forgettable ones

The All Growed Up special is hands down the most significant cartoon experience of my childhood. I could not stop thinking about it. I could not stop talking about it to my brother and my cousin. I watched it live at a parents friends' house that we had never been to before. My brother and I just watched it and hung out alone in this strangers house and I will never forget how I got to watch with my brother (my best friend) after all that waiting and it lived up to the hype in my opinion.
Rugrats was our favorite show and for some reason I always love watching people grow up. In any show or movie I love to see the coming of age aspect. Having that in my favorite cartoon about clever hilarious babies is like the perfect storm. I still to this day get emotional when they first turn and at the end during the montage while the Emica song plays. Brings a tear to my eye. I remember getting really hyped whenever SpongeBob did a major event episode, especially the ones like the Medieval one, the Best Day Ever one, and the Where's Gary episode. The night of the Gary episode my Mom's car broke down before I got home to see the new episode and I was stressed because I wanted to know what happened to Gary, worried I was gonna miss it. Thankfully we made it back just in time before the episode started and it's an experience I'll never forget. I'll always miss this era of cartoons

I have crazy nostalgia for Summer Belongs to You. I was at my Grandparents' house, and everything was so warm, I think it was late-summer/early-fall. I was like five, I remember having so much fun playing in their yard. Then my Mom and Dad came back from the store, and we watched this episode when we got home.
From an outside perspective it seems boring, but that experience will always be with me. My Mom and Dad bought me a DC Universe Classics figure, it was Doctor Mid-Nite, and it came with a collect and connect Darkseid arm. I sound like the world's biggest nerd, but it's a time in my life where the status quo was changing, and I wished things could go back to that way. Now I'm Nostalgic for the way things were in those days too.
I remember how much we talked about the colors of the leaves. Bright green, some had turned Yellow, others were red, and brown, but none of them had fallen, they hung there like perfect time capsules.
Sorry for writing an essay, but I was super glad you still included Summer Belongs to You. Phineas and Ferb always made sure that the kids watching had fun and ceased the day.

the three event episodes that come to mind are: the first being the Fairly Oddparents: School's Out The Musical which I was sooooo hype for because it aired a week after I "graduated" preschool, and I remember being so sad when they stopped airing it every Summer bc I never bothered to ask my parents for a dvd and the stores didn't carry it anymore
the second was Danny Phantom's Ultimate Enemy, where I distinctly remember switching back and forth between Boomerang and Nick during the lead in, because Teen Titans was on but I also wanted to keep an eye on the countdown, lol. also, hell of an episode to experience when you're five years old - like, I could /tell/ that it was being a bit overtly preachy about not cheating, but also, like. I was five and watching Danny's family and friends straight up die, then his ghost half kill his human half was kinda insane
the last one that I remember being REALLY hype for was the Backyardigans Super Spy special, which aired during prime time which was CRAZY for a Nick Jr show. I was seven by this point, and still regularly watched Nick Jr bc 1) I had a toddler brother and 2)I still liked the content, lol - the morning of the special, I remember being soooo cautious when bringing it up to my friends bc I wasn't sure if /they/ had moved on from Nick Jr, so it was a risky gamble for me. Thankfully, they seemed SO relieved that I brought it up, as we were all very much still in the prime demographic and like - it was a SPY special! the grip spy related media had on us in the 00s was very much real and Nickelodeon was not afraid to cash in, fr. I remember the next day we all talked about it and then playing spies during recess, so it was a good time!

Even to this day, 10+ years later, the show is still celebrated and talked about, with new content coming THIS YEAR!
