its always been R-I-P for my generation and for many years before it. younger people, not realizing what it actually even meant started saying "rip" it is an acronym for " Rest in peace" or even more early form "Requiescat In Pace" used on gravestones where there was limited space or the person making the headstone didn't know how to spell or have the time to carve out in a stone the words. Saying "rip" is less correct than R-I-P and a little bit crude considering its use.
AsTheWheelsTurn, all that being true, Brock didn’t pronounce it like Gen Z does, which is the reason for the original comment.

Whenever I meet a young person that doesn’t have vocal fry, or uptalk, or speaks in a normal fashion, I have so much more respect for them immediately.
People who talk like this in a professional setting (IMO,) shouldn’t be taken seriously. Can you imagine hearing “omg, like literally our overhead... I’m dead....” at a business meeting?
Perhaps an exaggeration. Perhaps the lingo goes out the window when in a professional setting, but the inflection remains the same.
