My mom makes wedding cakes and she's been doing the Styrofoam "cakes" for decades! You can have a tiered cake with every other layer being Styrofoam (just make sure the bride and groom are aware which tier is Styrofoam so they don't cut into the wrong layer at the wedding). Also, having the prepackaged cakes in the wedding favors is something that a lot of people do as well so I'm shocked that these "savings" aren't more common in the UK.

Love this series! I had two styrofoam tiers on my wedding cake. That was 5 years ago! But they didn’t tell us which layers it was 🤣😩 everyone was waiting for us to cut the cake and I’m frantically searching for my planner to find out which tier is the real cake. So guys make sure they tel you which one to cut before hand!
