- A frantic Scottish Cup semi-final ended with Rangers beating their Old Firm rivals Celtic after a dramatic penalty shoot-out.
An early strike from Kenny Miller gave Mark Warburton’s the lead after 16 minutes, but an Eric Sviatchenko header five minutes into the second half forced the game into extra-time. A stunning strike from Rangers’ Barrie McKay and cool Tom Rogic finish for Celtic on either side of the extra-time interval took the game to penalties. Rogic, whose goal levelled the score for Celtic in extra-time, missed the crucial penalty in sudden death which has set-up an all-Championship final. - Sport

One of the best days of my life !! Rangers were given no chance in this game. This was one of the worst Rangers teams in living memory and in the first division and Celtic were the SPL champions !!

OMS 24 Celtic and Rangers WERE big clubs -- not any more, and not for many years. Presently, neither team could even challenge for the Europa League title -- never mind the Champions League. They are but a shadow of what they were fifty years ago. Sure they are leaders in the Scottish premiership, but most of that league's teams wouldn't reach higher than the English League One. So you really need to re-define in your mind what a "big club" is all about. It's consistency at or near football's top level.

As a Ger I agree with you. Also a number of players who were mince under Deila became very good players for Rodgers. I think it's the same, to some degree, with Gerrard. Halliday and even Taverneir were nowhere near good enough under Pedro etc., but are doing well now. It's amazing what some managers see in a player that others don't.

As a Celtic fan, I hated this game so much. I was in a Glasgow pub heartbroken come half 2 in afternoon (early kick-off). Still don't know how we lost this match -- even to this day. We dominated the game, but ironically not in possession. On the way home from Glasgow, I bumped into fellow Celtic supporters on the train. Just one of those things, I guess.
