Fun fact: dots on letters didn't exist previously and many letters looked identical; you were supposed to know the sound they make using context... dots were added just to accommodate learning Arabic for foreigners after the spread of Islam. Same story with the diacritics.

As a Muslim learning the Quran I had to learn the Arabic sounds at the age of 4 and had to combine them to learn more. And had to learn it more for tajweed which makes it more complicated.

I laughed throughout the whole video.😂😂😂 You're on point really and as a native Arabic speaker i can feel your pain..... but i can't help imaging your expression when you finally learn arabic to find out we can actually read the words without the dots and the diacritic marks (what you called vowels) depending on just the meaning of the phrase. it is how the original language was written. That would be the anticlimactic thing ever but still arabic is the most beautiful language you could learn imo so i'm cheering here for you🎉👏👏

But again, everyone makes mistakes; so i read them incorrectly sometimes

I am European (Hungarian) and غ , خ , ق is easy for me, but the emphatics are most difficult. I have to concentrate to not pronounce the same way as the others letters. The alphabet is not what he says. The dotes are totally ok, but issue is when vowel marks are missing and you don't have a good vocabulary. The grammar is the most difficult I have ever learned.

We have to learn the same way the alphabet from scratch and to pronounce those letters. So my experience is that it is the most difficult language I have ever learned.
No, it's not further back. Depending on dialect it's the exact same sound or actually further forward in the throat.
The Arabic sound varies between being made at the soft palate like "K" or at the uvula like ق while the French "R" is only made at the uvula and it may be devoiced under certain situations making it sound like خ.

Wrong. Urdu is a stupid language and IM a native speaker. We have around 10 redundant letters. All of these letters aren't pronounced correctly in urdu since they're borrowed from arabic.

I love learning new languages and talking to people who don't speak my language. And being an arab and knowing Arabic makes it easier to me to learn the pronunciation of any other languages because we have pretty much all the sounds that a human can make
I think all kids need to learn as much sounds as they can because it's very essential skill and makes it easier to learn other languages later in life
Arabic being the lauguage of the word of GOD, is undoubtly the hardest to perfect, and a fact about it is that, if you can speak perfect arabic, you can speak any other language perfectly (with practice ofc), as the arabic alphabet contains all possible ways to twist a tongue, therefore can generate all the alphabets in other languages.

There are many sounds that doesn't exist in Arabic, for example we have one ش, English has like 3, we don't have a P sound, and many of the German vowel sounds don't exist in Arabic, not to mention clicks

i’m Egyptian puerto rican and Dominican born in puerto rico where i am learning spanish, english, and a little arabic from my mom. Ngl arabic is so hard for me sometimes i wish on giving up on the language, but i honestly kept going just for the sake of me being able to talk to my mom in her native language instead of her having to speak in english for me. in getting pretty good at it actually :)

And the ق is either pronounced as a q or a g (in iraqi and some dialects it changes pronunciation) so iraq is most likely pronounced as irag by locals and don't forget these letters ي ؤ ك ة which are non existent in some dialects

I am speak English, Russian, and Hebrew fluently. If you listen closely you can understanding some Arabic of multiple dialects.
You can understand words and even sentences, the sounds are similar but pronunciation varies. I will be trying to learn Arabic, I am not worried to say the least.
There is a great similarity between the Hebrew and Arabic languages, so it will be easier to learn

The ج makes the j sound not G
Only in Egypt we say it as a g but its correct use is as a J

It's also some tribes in south of Saudi and also Oman and alot of Yemeni people.
Yemeni people literally don't pronounce j at all even if it's originally English
The jeem letter is pronounced G in most of Egypt (not even all of Egypt) but who are we to say what's correct? Even classical Arabic had dialects that used to pronounce letters differently and modern Arabic dialects evolved from some of them and kept some of their traits... Now if you really wanna go back like waaaay back the original Alfro-Asiatic (and proto-Semitic of course) sound for this letter was in fact G as it is in Babylonian, Phoenitian, Old Egyptian, Amharic etc. so...... Who's right, the Egyptians who stuck to the more archaic variant, the collonized countries that pronounce it like the French "j", the Khalijis, Iraqis, Kuwaitis and others who pronounce it closest to Qur'anic tajweed pronunciation or or or... The "standardized" jeem is a thing just because most of the Qur'an was revealed in the dialect of the Quraysh who pronounced it like that and they were just one tribe out od hundreds? Yeah........ Let the guy pronounce it as he wants, Arabs also do 🤷🏻♂️

Buddy, Both classical and MSA arabic pronounce it as a J, Maybe the sound was different when arabic was forming but the correct way to say it today is a J
The Quran was revealed in 7 dialects and all of them spell the Jeem as a J, you Must read the Qur'ān the way the prophet read it or else you are commiting a sin
@@UXMC2 Classical Arabic is not only the Qur'an but also poetry and prose and in a non-religious (scientific) view all the dialects that existed at the time of the prophet peace be upon him were eloquent (fusha) so... The fact that the Qur'an shouldn't be recited saying g instead of j doesn't proove anything, it just happens that the dialect that pronounced jeem as g wasn't one of the dialects found in the Qur'an 🤷🏻♂️

It took me like 30 minutes to learn the alphabets.... And btw I can now kinda read arabic.
And I was in uniform waiting for my school bus when I learnt it. It's not that hard...

I'm a Bengali speaker, I learned all those alphabets when I was about 5. It's really weird to see how much English speakers have to struggle just to pronounce those.

Actually the most funny part as a native is you making jokes on how the letters look, because I’m used to seeing them my whole life so now I had to think to understand the joke and it’s even way funnier when I realize it. Btw I love your spirit, I think it’s really rare to find someone who’s really just interested in talking to people and living life from their perspective

I feel like we arabs ourselves also struggled learning the language growing up, especially with grammar ( one would find "E3rab" hard even if they're in high school). Being a Muslim myself from a non Arab country who happened to learn Arabic alphabets at a very young age, I must admit that some Arabic alphabets are difficult to pronounce 😁, i remember when I learned how to pronounce ع it took me 4 months to pronounce it correctly 🤣

Arabic was a lingua franca between many nation including Europe. No one complained. It's not difficult, it is like every language need hard working.
