    I have spent hours looking at various burlap wreaths and nothing caught my attention until I came across your wreath!!! It is beautiful! I love your method of using two rolls together. I'm headed to Hobby Lobby and/or Michaels for my burlap!. We have two double Front Doors and I think using your method is just perfect! Many thanks!

    Beautiful wreath. I found this method a little while back and it's the only one I use because that loop/bubble/pull through method gives me anxiety lol which is why I watched videos for MONTHS and never actually finished one until I found this. And to be honest I think the finished wreath using this method is so much prettier. I did a fall wreath this way last year for my mom, the only thing that was a little difficult was embellishing with ribbons. I couldn't find a good way to keep them from kind of sinking in between the ruffles lol. Maybe I used the wrong size/style of ribbon.

      Karen Manigault I know right. My 80 year old mom felt the same way but ended up making a beautiful wreath in just 15 minutes...and yes, it’s never a bad idea to secure it, especially when using a softer fabric or ribbon. I prefer using a large needle and string to secure it avoid scratching or marking up the door it hangs on, but whatever works best for you. Thank you 💗

      Matthew Scruggs I don’t think I could stress enough that you have to constantly make sure the sides are pulled up even and it helps to make sure your rolls of burlap stay straight on the table to help keep them straight and it’s easier to pull through too. I’m sorry you’re having a difficult time. I wish I could help more 🤍

    Instead of burlap, can I use wired ribbon or even mesh that is the same size (5.5 in)?

    • @notsoshabbydiys9882
      @notsoshabbydiys9882  Před 6 lety +1

      Katrina Evans great question. Yes, ribbon works too! Wire ribbon is a little harder to pull through at times, but it looks pretty. If it’s not as bulky as the burlap, you will end up needing more linear feet than what this call for. Also, you may want to stay away from mesh or any other fabric that is too translucent. It doesn’t end up looking very full, and with lighter fabric you can still see the wire frame when it’s done.
      Good luck, and have fun 💗

    • @notsoshabbydiys9882
      @notsoshabbydiys9882  Před 6 lety +2

      Prisci Bee I’m sorry, I just saw this. First off, thank you! You’re so sweet! Second, at the beginning there’s nothing special you need to do with the starting ends besides hold them in place until the section it packed snout to hold on its own. Does that answer your question? If you’re asking how it’s started, you line up the two strips of burlap side by side. Next take the two corners next to each other and slide them into the middle section of the frame. Pull the ribbon through to about half way. Take the two remaining corners and pull those through the remaining sections (each through the one that is closest to it). Now they should be lined up with the first two corners you pulled through at the beginning. There should be a part of the wire frame running up the center of both ribbons. Now start to gently pull the edges of the ribbon threw while doing your best to keep them even the entire on both sides.
      Let me know if that answers your question. Sometimes my own explanations confuse me. Haha

    • @notsoshabbydiys9882
      @notsoshabbydiys9882  Před 6 lety

      Janki Shah great question! Not if you make sure to pack each section tight. If you are worried you didn’t get it tight enough and are wanting to secure it just in case, I would used a large needle and string. Flip it over so the back is facing up, run your needle and thread under one part of the wire frame and burlap each time. Take both ends of that sting and make a square knot. Then trim the string so they aren’t long enough to be visible while it’s hanging on the door. Do this in as many places you feel need it.
      Also, I wouldn’t use wire like a lot of tutorials say, it can scratch your door. I hope this helps.

    • @notsoshabbydiys9882
      @notsoshabbydiys9882  Před 4 lety

      Lisa Visone yes for this method you will need a four wire frame. And yes a 20 works but I usually use a wider ribbon only because I like a fuller look to my wreaths. If I plan on adding something like a witch sitting in the center, I’ll use a smaller width so there is room in the center of the wreath. It’s so great because you really can customize it however you prefer. Good luck, I’m sure it will turn out beautiful 💕

    Will this work with two different colors of burlap?

    Wired or unwired burlap?

      Kris Hilliard This one I made did not have wire. If you use a thinner ribbon it definitely looks better with wire. You will have to reshape the ruffles after storage since the wire bends easily.

    I think my burlap is to thick. 2- 5.5" x 30 inches only covers 1/4 of my wreath

      Rene Hager sorry, it needs to be 30 “FEET” long. I realize there was an error on the video right after I downloaded it so I put the correction in the comments under the video. Sorry for all the confusion

    How do you do this with a heart wire frame? Any videos?

      Katrina Evans I don’t have a video on that, but it’s a great suggestion. I’ll consider that for an upcoming video :).
      Most heart shaped frames only have three wires. You could do the same process, but only doing the single line. You may even want to use two layers of burlap for a fuller ruffle. Just lay them directly on top of each other. There’s also more space between wires, so you would definitely want secure it at the beginning and the end. Depending on how loose it feels, you may even want to secure it every few inches. Hope that helps.
