      @@gabrielduarte3904 reeling with your non dominant hand makes more sense but i guess we just do it how we are taught and for some reason in australia we are taught to use our dominant for reeling. another stupid thing about the way we do it is that we often cast with our right and then switch the rod to our left hand to start reeling with our right. anyway it’s just what feels most comfortable for me.

      @danielwutfisho Před měsícem

      I had a vanquish 23 5000, after 1 usage started to hear bearing noise. Also was the smoothest reel out of the box but again once the grease wore in it became way less smooth. Certate retains its smoothness.

      @@danielwutfisho Catch and cook has a review on Daiwa vs the Vanquish.. in that video he managed to land several cownose rays on the 1000sspg fine without issues or the frame flexing under load. Not to mention the new duracross drag system now gives you both the advantage of carbon and felt drag washer systems.
      After catching Mangrove Jacks and GTs as by catch nothing wrong with my 1000sspg?
      I don't know if you service your own reels but after the recent service of my reels I'm starting to really see flaws in Daiwas internals and drag systems...
      My Saltist 4000 is already having issues after being spooled by a serious fish and it's the same drag stack and system in the certate and saltiga too. Never knew that the drag pin could dislodge itself and Lodge itself at the top of the reel, not to mention it's a flimsy peice of thin steel that corrodes very easily. That can't happen in a Shimano as the drag stack is designed completely different. Markberg at Tackle addiction was sponsored by Daiwa, Have you ever asked him why he isn't or doesn't sell Daiwa anymore?

    • @danielwutfisho
      @danielwutfisho Před měsícem

      @@samasim3944 All reels can have problems mate, I'm sure the vanquish is a good reel but I'm commenting on my experience or the example that I got. Shimano has had some issues with ball bearings recently and you'll know from recent buyers that even the made in japan reels have had this. The duracross system is a good upgrade, and of course the magnesium frame will not flex just like daiwa's airity. Again I am commenting on my example, I have not had the best experience with Shimano. Daiwa reels remain unserviceable by yourself but luckily I live quite close to their HQ in Australia.

    The Daiwa Certate looks a bit ugly IMHO.....
    Mind you, I try to limit my rod and reel to a maximum of $50 for both and used at that.... If a person can't catch fish on a $50 setup then that individual doesn't know what fishing is really about. It's not about how much one spends but fishing is more about catching fish on a limited budget.
    Myself, I tend to lean towards Shimano reels but then again I buy whatever is on sale at the end of the season to save a few bucks....

    Now, ... Conventional reels, ... if you don't have an educated and skilled thumb, ...you won't be able to cast a conventional reel…!
    For those that keep buying spinners... We know you guys can't cast...
    The worst thing about spinners is the line twist it creates… and will result in a “bird's nest”…. Yes, that's exactly what I said…have seen this so many times...not good at all…
    Don't get this wrong.. I do own very nice spinners... I just don't care to use them anymore…I prefer the significant distance I get over a spinner... hands down…!
