Religion has a purpose to give people a framework and formula, without belief people are lost and pessimistic. Very generally speaking, Religions became an institution, which is why its become a a massive social problem. People don't even realize they're advocating hate because 'im right you're wrong' mentality which is divisive. Just like how other institutions have become corrupt (educational, mental, medical...), its a systematic flaw because humans have flaws. Instead of fixing the dysfunction we had people take advantage of it for their own gain. Religion doesn't need to be eradicated entirely, it needs to be repaired with the love you speak of! Having any resentment or hatred for the system when its really people who used faith to harm you will only hold you back from a wholesome understanding that we should all be chasing to know. I don't know what you've been through, and i can't tell you how to feel, but having an anti-theistic state of mind won't serve you in your ultimate highest good. Blessings and healing to you, our experiences are our greatest teachers, everyone has a story to tell, but i guarantee you its not to erase all religion. Peace be upon you

Thank you John for reminding me of all the things I learned when I was reawakened some 36 years ago during a difficult pregnancy. I was tested on all levels - physical, mental and emotional. My and baby's health were compromised. Jesus as the Sacred Heart appeared at my hospital bed saying "Don't be afraid, all is well " and all was.
Thank you very much for all the explanations. I was RC from a deeply religious family. At 18 I began to question many things and got into trouble for questioning the religious beliefs. I was guided after the birth to begin my path, search ; I learned many things, went to lots of classes, lectures and workshops on lots of things.
Last week I discovered you, John, on Next Level Soul. I turned 75. Your podcasts are a wonderful birthday gift. Many blessings to you.

I was raised with alot of interaction with my grandmother, who did her best to nourish my spirit by taking me to church. And of course, the church teaches the Bible according to it's own selective interpretation.
When you mentioned that no fear can exist in pure love, it reminded me of a question that I asked my grandmother at one point, when she was saying that I needed to have "the fear of God"..
I asked her, "But if God loves me unconditionally, why should I fear Him?"
It just didn't make sense to me. I don't remember her answer, just that it didn't satisfy me. Many years later, something triggered that memory, and immediately the thought entered my mind that I wasn't interpreting that word properly.. That a more accurate term would be "respect" of God.. It was only then, that I actually understood what those words really mean..
I plagued my grandmother with many questions that she didn't like over the years.. Questions like..
How is it that God "always was", with no beginning and no end? Didn't He have to come from somewhere?
And, the Bible says that God created all things.. But what about the angels? Nowhere does it talk about God creating the angels. Just that the angels were always with Him..
If life only exists on earth, and nowhere else, what about UFOs? And how about the one described in Ezekiel?
And many, many others.. Children can drive you nuts with their incessant questions and desire for answers! Lol. God bless my grandmother! ❤️

Yeshua had no wife, no girlfriend, no sexual relations at all. Read Gamaliel interview with Joseph and Mary, Jesus shunned the mating interests of young ladies. Being pure, why would he intermix and descend any further than necessary to get these messages through to us bonded, blinded, endarkened begins, to set us free?
He said, "If you seek me, you will find me, and whom the Son sets free is free indeed"

Yeshua had a wife and children. Copies or documents were found that say that. We have more information now from yeshuas time. Yeshua was jewish, not roman catholic. The romans took over managing their state run idea of christianity in 500 Ad. The romans hid lots of information in their vaults. They only wrote what suited the interests of their state run religion to run the country a certain way. Who told you Joshua had no wife no mate no children, etc?? What basis do you have to claim that yeshua had no wife or children. You need to go back and read the texts he is speaking about and go to the original texts written in whatever language of the time like books he is speaking about.

2:30 pm Sept. 4. Love what you’re doing. I thought I knew this gospel but you presented it in such a new and beautiful way. It brought to mind something that happened to me in 2nd grade. We were being prepared for our first confession and I guess the idea was to inflect adequate guilt. They sat us down in the first row of pews nice and close to the enormous crucifix that hung over the altar. Sr. Mary Paul excitedly paced back and forth in front of us gesticulating toward that dead body on the cross crying “You did this with your sins!” I was crushed.
Shortly after that we were settled in the cafeteria to watch a 1952 black &white movie on the passion of Christ. It was bloody and horrifying. I cried and cried. I was inconsolable even after we were back in our classroom. The kids laughed at me probably because they were embarrassed by my emotion.
Fast forward 20 years. My brother-in-law brought over a book for my husband but wouldn’t touch it. I said I’d read it. I was thinking that I had 12 yrs. of Catholic education and I would beat him over the head with his own book. It was “The Late Great Planet Earth” by Hal Linsey.
I read it when my toddler would nap in the afternoon. The first 2days of reading yielded nothing new. On the 3rd. the author said “Isn’t it good to know that we have a God who knows we can’t do it alone.” With that my mind went blank. It was a very odd feeling. I got up to look out the small dormer widow of my room when to my left, on the wall, I saw that crucifix from my childhood. Surprise, and again surprise because Jesus wasn’t dead! He called me by name but it wasn’t Rita. I didn’t know what it was but I knew it was me because with that I felt transparent like He knew me and He loved me. He said “You didn’t do this to me. I did this for you “ and He was gone.
A really big emotional healing took place that day. For 20 yrs. I had suffered from crying “fits”. It was not normal crying. They would come on for no reason that I could find. Something seemed to press down on my head and I was forced to the floor. It was a bottomless pit. I believe it came from the deep seeded guilt of having killed Christ.
That was 50 yrs. ago and I have been on a marvelous journey ever since.

@@JoniHinson In Hebrew, the word for man is “Gever,” which also means “One who overcomes.” So, looking at this from the perspective of Yeshua’s mother tongue, what he means is: “Everyone who overcomes this world will enter the kingdom of heaven.” This, of course, also goes back to another one of Yeshua’s statements: “I have overcome the world.” But it’s also important to understand what does “the world” mean. According to Kabbalah, of which Yeshua is the greatest interpreter, “the world” is the temptation to “receive.” The temptation to receive possessions, respect, status, money, pleasure and all other material or “worldly” things. Only those who overcome the will to receive these things can see the kingdom.

As far as any scriptural referenced to "Salvation, Saved, or Savior" I believe that it is a translational issue rather than a deliberate alteration . These words in the Greek come from the root word, "Sozo" which means, " To heal, To do good, To make whole or complete". It was traditional theology that put its lens on this to mean something different, most commonly viewed that a "Savior" is the fire escape from hell or some other ridiculous notion. From proper rendering of the Greek anyone can be a so called savior if they are doing good, healing, helping people out in the best way they can. This word "savior" most certainly should be understood in light of what Jeshua did and taught for people and not be viewed as a title. 😃😃

Jesus was saying we are the creators of our realities and that we are one with everything. We are God experiencing his/herself specifically for the refinement of our souls. When we have learned all that we can possibly learn and go through all probabilities we return to that same light and we will have no form. We will be light. We have to have the bad stuff in order to see what we are not.

"matter gave birth to a passion that has no equal"
In context of the previous statement that everything of matter is temporary and will cease to be, this passion seems to me to be the same as those sankaras the Buddha taught about... Craving and aversion related to wrong attachment to the things of this world, which keep us in bondage to the turning of the wheel.

Added: An excellent discussion. Not sure it’s outside some interpretations of the Bible, but certainly is of most. Great comments.
You aren’t the first person to have observed Paul’s personal point of view, but you made it clear in a few sentences!
As for “matter” it is nonetheless interesting to have been discussed in a manner that is spiritual and almost quantum.
I’m going to have to dig out my copy of this book, because I recall, perhaps mistakenly, that the first snippet was asking a question along the lines of “when will all matter….”
Thank you for the reading and efforts to draw attention to this fascinating history.

Is it just me, or does anyone else notice that part way through this video, as John naturally moves back and forth while speaking, the camera starts going in and out of focus on the eyes of Yeshua, in the painting behind him?
I find that painting to be very striking and mesmerizing. Though I paid close attention to what John was saying, I couldn't really look at John much. My eyes trained themselves on the painting and I felt like Yeshua was present and looking directly at me, almost speaking to me..

Why would Jesus allow Paul and the rest of his followers to remain in ignorance? Yogananda says there is no sin, or if there is, guilt is the only one and I agree. He also says there is free will which I don't agree with. I believe we are God's instruments and that we don't really have a say in any matter, well we do, but it is our higher self(god) pulling the strings; there are no mistakes, everything is intentional. And that intention is always working in our favor leading us to God realization. Good and bad is an illusion much like everything else. We receive blessings not for being good boys and girls, but for dropping what we are not. Thinking expansive thoughts of interconnection and love leads us to realization because we are being our true selves - God. The only thing holding us back from working impossible miracles is our self-limiting beliefs of what is possible, Jesus is a prime example. I also believe Jesus was a yogi of the highest order. Look into Siddhis, you will be amazed!
We should treat each other the way we would treat Jesus and the way Jesus would treat us! We are one being in God🙏 Look into the illusion of separation; one of Jesus' greatest teachings!

Jeshua's understood it had to be a personal journey of self realization. He couldn't spoonfeed. He taught in parables so they would come to the room realizations and Paul never met Jeshua.

@@elizabethkass49 God is the doer, not me, not you. In fact "we" don't even exist, that's ego/mind/devil trying to exert force over our true nature, again done by God. That is the game we find ourselves in, to see through the Ego-mind and rejoin God. Jesus said what all awakened masters said, to surrender the entirety of your being and claim what is yours as the father, son and holy spirit. This comes back to the illusion of separation - the root of all illusion, we feel apart from God because of all this damn movement, be it mental or physical, it ripples the water and keeps us from seeing our true self, the Self beyond the humanness. With God's grace we learn to still and return home.

When I came to know Divine Mother, I realized that Mary Magdalene was Yeshua´s wife. I have learned a lot about her and Mother Mary, it has been fascinating to learn about their lives. They were extroidinary women in their own right. The material I´ve studied said that Mary Magdalene funded Yeshua´ś ministry; she was wealthy and Mother Mary´s brother was Joseph of Arimathea, he was also quite wealthy too. There is so much richness here and so much to learn. Thank you John!

This is all New Age concepts that do not match the documented history. Even her own Gospel shows how men did not accept her as an equal. The Joseph of Arimathea story you have listed is not found in any ancient texts and was a channeled message from the 1980s. People often try to put modern agendas into biblical stories. This is definitely one of them.

In many countries, joining the army is thought to be an act of bravery. How did killing others become brave??

Thank you. I was given a red-letter edition Bible in first grade.Unlike mainstream, I didn't think those words came from heaven up there, but from philosophers down here. Now as a buddhist practitioner with decades of study, I look at Jesus as a wonderful teacher who didn't live long enough to tell us about reality. The gnostics texts are so far removed from the Roman bible and so in keeping with the principle of the Three Poisons of buddhism. This teaching is so good and so incomplete !!!!! Ignorance is the #1 poison in my book. Fear is the root of the other two, Anger and Attachment. I see this woven in.
"Matter" in this context is used as the word "phenomenon" in buddhist texts.

That was a very good telling and interpreting of the Gospel of Mary Magdelene. Interesting how the Roman "Church" tried to burn it and discredit Mary Magdelene by labeling her a prostitute. Shameful. Interestingly enough, these teachings mirror the teaching that Yeshua taught in the Gospel of the Holy Twelve which was spirited away to protect it from the Roman Church. Your pronouncements and experiences are right in line with what I read in the Gospel of the Holy Twelve. One thing that I have gathered is that Yeshua was an inspired genius of the highest order. Thanks for your contributions in this life John.
