I never knew they charged you to cut the cake. It makes sense I guess when you think about it.
I mean not really, if all your guests need to be served a slice you’d still be paying per head regardless of if it’s a whole real cake or majority fake honestly. Now if they charge for every slice cut and they HAVE to cut the WHOLE cake down then yea, but other than that naah.
Wait please explain why it makes sense?! 😩😩😩 fkn beats me bro lmaoooo
John deehill
It depends if your friends cut it like me and the other bridesmaids the venue didn't chsrge
Venues charge you for slicing a damn cake?! That’s insane to me. Man the wedding industry is messed up.
It really is
That's number one reason why nobody wants to get married anymore.. 😂😂
That is a TOTAL racket! 😮 That is absolutely shameless!
Is there a school where I can train to be a professional cake slicer? It will be the new sommelier!😂
It's beautiful! Fake cakes are always a good idea. I did one for a small wedding, same idea, top tier real. Then we didnt have to waste all of that un eaten cake!
Hi ❤
I agree. It just makes sense
I totally get it. We had our daughter's wedding in our yard, we did everything, flowers, decor, have a pizza oven, did all the food. I am a cake decorator, and it would have been too much for me to do the cake the day before. Did a fake cake, it turned out beautiful, could decorate weeks before. I did sheet cakes for serving. Worked perfectly, I keep the cake on the off chance some catastrophe happens with the cake is destroyed could always just change the flowers out and they could have a cake for pictures. It still looks beautiful 5 years later.
I do this frequently when someone wants a huge cake for pictures.
If a fake cake costs as much as a real cake I'm going with real. My daughter just got married at a resort in Vegas. They didn't charge her to cut the cake.
I’d probably go with fake depending on how “big” and extravagant they want the cake to look. If you bite off more than you can chew the uneaten cake goes bad
@@IAmNiyahSimone - Actually, we brought my daughter's uneaten wedding cake home, portioned it, then put each portion in a food saver bag where the air is sucked out then put it in the freezer so they can defrost it and eat it whenever they want. We saved the top layer like that as well so they can have it for their 1st anniversary.
The venue charges? Do you also have to leave a dollar on the toilet?
The fact over half of it is fake is pretty amazing in my opinion. Big cakes like that cost a LOT of money but no matter how it looks, it's still cake, it'll get eaten or go bad. Not everyone has huge wedding budgets or a lot of guests. This can solve both issues. You could even make a 95% fake cake with only a very small section of real cake for the photo op of cake cutting and then it could be whisked away to the back "for cutting" when you're really just cutting up a few sheet cakes in the back. This is genius.
Und alles nur um besser als andere da zu stehen. Leute bleibt bei der Wahrheit was soll denn dieser Fake. Immer besser, immer mehr, alles künstlich und unecht, ich find es sehr schlimm!
I’m sure the guests would notice the difference in design😭
@@IAmNiyahSimoneeven if they know and notice, who cares? Most people don't eat the cake cuz they're already full and let's be honest, most wedding cakes are bland cuz that's where couples cut their expenses.
I am an artist. I get you. That is hard work with all the detail you piped. You are so smart to do this. Kudos. Gir! 😊
Actually if I’m paying nearly the same price I’d take the real cake and freeze them. There’s multiple reasons to have cake during the year just save the top tier for my anniversary.
For all those complaining about wedding venues charging to cut the cake, they have to hire a crew of catering services. No one is going to work for free. Including bar tenders that they hire for weddings. The cake also has to be cut precisely to get the amount of servings for all the guests that will attend. If the cake were cut larger than it should, then they would run out of servings and that would make the wedding venue and planner look bad.
THEY CHARGE YOU PER SLICE?
I never would have guessed that this cake was fake !! Total genius whoever came up with this because so much cake is wasted.. I would definitely consider this option for my anniversary 😊.
If the cake would be almost the same I rather have real cake. Let them slice a certain amount and freeze the uncut leftovers.
Oh? Wait, they charge you for cutting the cake? I don't know much about this but couldn't you just cut it yourself? 🧐
Many venues put a mandatory charge on the cake cutting fee. I’m not really sure why, but I think it might be a safety and food safety reason.
@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe Wow, I didn't know about that at all. Seems like a fee that I would not be happy to pay for 😂 Thanks for the reply!
You’re not cutting cake at your wedding 😂 and most vendors require anyone handling food to have a license. Some caterers will offer to cut your cake for free!
@UdoADHD which is why you have a wedding at church?????
You & I have the same Dish towel 😁💕
I love!! It’s so pretty
Crazy that they charge for cutting cake like that. I would definitely get a family member to do it for free lol
Must don't understand the time spent nor how costly the decor is.
They charge you for cutting the cake?!?! Imma cut it myself
They charge for that too, its a mandatory fee in most venues.
Yeah I'm not paying for fake cake. I'd rather just have a small one. At least it'll cost less
They can always save the top tier and freeze it for their first anniversary
As a former wedding planner. I would cut the cake for the guests to save them money.
It looks beautiful. And it’s messed up that they charge for every slice they cut
Don't even waste your time telling people why you would make a fake cake. I like your video thank you for sharing what you're sharing I've been making fake cakes and I have not been doing it as long as you even though I feel my cake look beautiful. But because I watched this video I know the top part is real. Most haters hate because they don't have your vision you are your beautiful ideas. So give them the hand 🖐️ and keep doing the beautiful work that you are doing. I plan on doing CZcams as well. Thank you for your videos they're very inspiring and uplifting.❤️ When people come for you realize that's it's because GOD is taking you somewhere great. So stay in your light and don't walk in darkness for no One. ❤️🙂
Ive never been to a wedding but tv and movies allways show the bride and groom cut a piece and feed each other i assumed. They cut their own cake im sure alit of people opt to cut their own cake
Venues will allow a cursory cake cutting, but most will not allow you to cut the entirety of the cake and serve your own guests.
I work at a wedding venue and most people doing 4+ layers will do a fake bottom, only the top real and just do a kitchen cake for us to cut in the kitchen, plate and bring out
Of course I'm ok with fake cakes. It's perfect for a small wedding. The cake gives the vibe but if it was all edible there would be waste. I once was asked for a whole fake cake and it just stood there and beside it there were cupcakes to eat
Plus you still have to buy the Styrofoam cakes. And those aren't cheap either.
Real or not it's beautiful and it should be $850
How many people waste the cake is the answer??? With fake cake you’ll have it for a life time!! ❤️ your better off just getting cupcakes !! And it all depends on who does your Fake bake cake on the price ! Cause I know you could make one for around $50 then your time but that’s when you get creative lol 😂 and save money it’s not that hard to learn ❤️
The problem is that the fake cake is still using real frosting, fondant and the like but filled with Styrofoam. You don't get to 'keep' it for life
@@nobody-xh6ii last I knew fake is not using any type of real food? I do fake bakes and definitely don’t use real food it’s 100% fake
Charge per slice 😐 that's weird. Is this the norm?
Bellissimo 👍❤️❤️❤️
They could provide cupcakes for the guest.?
Oh my goodness! My mother still can't fathom that my daughters quinceanera cake was fake! She still talking about it! Like she was MAD!!
Get over it mummy!!! Let it go!! So I know the hate!!
LOL! Such a strange thing to get upset about!
@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe guess what Patty getting for her birthday? Yep...a fake cake!....no...my mother would probably knock every brain cell from my head if I did that to her! And she so loves sweets.....but it is tempting!!!
I had 10 other desserts at the quinceanera
Why you care if you can't eat the pretty cake??
Oh and when that happens then nobody ever eats the cake and a tiered cake is usually far too much to freeze!
@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe Ist es besser alle zu täuschen um mehr zu haben und besser als andere zu sein. Dieser Fake ist schlimm. .... alles muss so perfekt sein selbst über die Bilder kommt noch ein Filter.
@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe exactly!!!
I would just pay for the whole cake to be real..because I love sweets and you can freeze or give away the cake..
I been to wedding where the cake was for decor and a real cake is cut in to pcs n given out in pretty lil boxes for guess to take home.
1m it looks o good even if its fake🤣
I would pay or charge maybe $1,000 or 700
if you have a fake cake you would need a sheet cake to serve. It needs to be cut in order to serve it. So how is a dummy cake saving money?
As expensive as the styrofoam cakes are and all the work and all the time you put into making it up I'd pay about $200- $250 for that cake and FYI people that's all wedding cakes the two top cakes are real sometimes there's three real and the rest is dummy cake the top tier is always supposed to be saved for first year anniversary
Ummm. You decorated the whole thing. The decoration is the most skilled and time consuming part. $2,500-$3,000. Average in our town is $1k per tier. People need to stop taking advantage of the artists.
There are ways to save money and we can practice and use CZcams if you doubt value. Maybe, people may accidentally find they really have an unknown talent.
So how much would this cake be??
I actually have a friend who is doing a Vow renewal ceremony in Feb. She needs a GF and SF mostly Fake Cake. Because it is almost impossible to do a sugar free cake with Decorations, I told her I would do Sugar Lite. So a Cream Cheese Frosting, using very little powder sugar as a filling and a crumb coat/ and do the Simi Naked Cake look, to which we can add Fake or Real Flowers too, and use a GF mix for the cake itself. But how do you get a Fake Cake to look Simi Naked?
I was thinking about covering it in fondant, in the same shade as the cake, do a rough texture to it, and let it dry, then do a thin coat of frosting, scraping it back off to get the Simi Naked Cake look so it doesn't look weird or different from the editable portion of the cake. She is only needing to feed 30-50 ppl, but wants the Big Beautiful Cake look. 3-4-5 tiers.
Do you have a Hack for that?
I actually don’t have a hack!! I wonder if you could cover the fake tiers in a fondant colour similar to the look of her real cake and then ice it as you would a semi naked cake.
@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe yeah that's what I was thinking lol. That's the only thing I can think of.
Lmao, if we can manipulate Fondant and Frosting, Isomalt and just food period to look like anything we want, why can't that work.
I would pay 350 for it
I want the cake for$100
😮
Where do we send you our cake pictures of cakes we made? Hopefully mine gets to be in a video 🙏 i dont have social media.
I only accept Instagram submissions unfortunately!! If you ever get one feel free to send it to @sdbakeshoppe
Its okay 🤗 i love your videos i watch your channel for hours daily you really helped me start making cakes. Keep the videos coming i love recreating your amazing cakes 😁
Wow I never knew you could make a fake cake and be charged as much as you would be a real cake. Why not just get a real cake and bring the rest of the uncut cake home?
I personally would want the real cake in most instances, but sometimes it really is just TOO much cake and I know it would go to waste. To each their own though :)
Where a you based
