great video. Still, after i repeat the exact same steps, the issue is that in Collectors Administration, the filebeat part is not showing as for the windows did, therefore, i cannot assign any configuration to it, i tried to dig for it, but still can;t figure it out.
Hello Thank you for the great video with Side car. I have followed all the instructions an see that sidecar and filebeat running. But i am not able to see any logs in graylog when i do show messages from side car.. Can u please suggest
your tutorials helped me big time.. thanks a ton... If i can make a request, could you please create another video demonstrating the nxlog on linux and gelf forwarding....
I've done everything you do here, but it's still not working. I have the sidecar and filebeat running and there seems to be no problem, but the messages aren't coming in. I'm using Raw/Plaintext UDP for the input. It hasn't been going anywhere for days because it's so much more complicated than the 2.5 version.
1st important thing i have seen in your message is that raw/plaintext udp, you should launch a beats input. check the video for windows sidecar config, in which i'm specifying that a beats input needs to be launched. try to monitor for a file on your linux machine that gets modified every single minute and see what happens if the auto push of the configuration didn't worked, try to push it manually. make sure you have the filebeat and sidecar service running.... for me it was easier because i already had elastic search on that server.
great video but you should also show your loadbalancer config. I did it with nginx. Also yml files are really no flexible in text so when there is an error in yml file you cannot see anything in the sidecar log file. But journal -xe help. Solution is to go to an online yml editor and see the syntax error.

Hello, :D how do you send logs to sidecar? Thanks :D
you need to tell to filebeat which files it needs to monitor for, sidecar it's a way on how to configure the remote agent remotely
