If you only want the steps to make something, like those vids shot from above with no people, no conversation no nuthin - then we are absolutely not for you. But if you wanna a little fun while you learn, then this is the place.
Cooking doesn’t have to be hard, it just has to be delicious.

Can I come over and just hang out one day
How do you get ur grill so clean
I subscribed, I watch all the time, I make too much of this stuff, I've bought Coleman's mustard (awesome!), Kewpie mayo (Amazing!), and my cardiologist is getting a new Ferrari 488 Spider. Thanks Sam!

Well said my guy

Love his attitude....philosophy.
@@tacolove892 I've always lived my life by the opposite. What's in my heart? No one else knows, no one else understands because human language isn't defined enough for me to explain it to anyone else. (is what's in my heart bad? I don't think so. I don't wish harm on anyone anywhere, is my intention to do good to those who deserve it and ignore those who don't? Yes! However, no one else gets that and I can say it, but I can't truly make anyone else believe it.) But is what's in my stomach important? Hell yeah! If it tastes good, makes me happy and satisfies my hunger then it's important as all hell. People just don't understand each other, they judge on what they believe (and I include myself here even though my best intention is not to fall into that trap) What makes individuals truly happy is what best suits themselves, and for me that is good food. For others that is any one of millions of other things. I'll try not to judge anyone else's happiness if they are happy to not judge mine.
Almost nailed a comment Jesus made. "And he called the people to him and said to them, 'Hear and understand: it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.'" - Matthew 15:10-11 ESV
*Simon Peter the Apostle has entered the chat*
Hahahahaha I love that!
Your comment about what’s in your heart vs what’s in you belly... absolutely awesome!!!! I’m not Jewish but that statement was just great! Love this channel and rarely comment but keep it up I’ve learned a lot and my kids are thankful haha
Literally what Jesus said in Matthew
Erin Aguilera I didn’t realize that I’ve got a lot to learn but I loved it
Happy to hear it 👊🏻
Matthew 15: 17 “Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? 18 But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them.
@@samthecookingguy i hope you are not a jew
As someone currently in Norfolk England, I approve of your mustard choice
I'm not Cuban but I first learned to eat Cuban sandwiches in Miami. All of them I got in Miami were made with bread and butter pickles, not dill. It gives a totally different flavor profile. I checked with all the Cuban friends I have and it's about an 80-20 split in favor of bread and butter. Sam, I would love for you to make one with bread and butter pickles and see if you agree.
I like B n B pickles better, too.
I prefer bread and butter too but honestly never thought much of it. I wonder what kind the restaurants here (Tampa) use.
I’ve never had bread and butter pickles on a Cuban and don’t generally buy those either but I will try it.
Wicked perm also
I really don't like B&B pickles but am all about the authenticity of a recipe. Thanks

As a person of Cuban descent that was raised in Miami, I have to say you did well with the mojo marinade. The only things I would say, 1st if you can find sour oranges the taste is way better then the orange and lime, I know they are not easy to find. 2nd is that you need to marinate the pork in the mojo for at least 1 hour before cooking it.
Did u meet dexter?

@@AlexM-ht9ff It's still West Tampa or Ybor my friend.
A M not Cuban but born and raised 305 so I know my way around Calla Ocho. I would also add that the cheese needs to be a little more melted.

My first time ever watching a video from this guy and HECK, I already love this guy. Amazing food, great personality 😊👍
That's the kind of religious perspective everyone can agree with.
Matthew 15: 17-20.
Uhhh no, no one's works get them to heaven.

But not the top bun, idk why he's trying to hide it
I usually cook pork to about 160-165..
Just made this. Holy s**t, I need to lie down for about a week. Amazing.
Sam, remove the flat griddle after heated , put the sandwich on the grills, and place the hot griddle on top of the sandwich and press.
May i suggest using some oven glove when you pick up the hot griddle !
The religious part made me cry with joy, it's such a beautiful perspective and I feel like it's something my Dad would say, (don't worry he's alive, I just miss him, I don't live with him anymore) but amazing video and I hope you get a 5 star service Sam!
Ouch, the "don't worry he's alive" part unintentionally teared me up because I recently lost my dad too soon (I'm still 25 years old) XP Oh well, I couldn't help it. Really cherish your dad while he's still here with us, good dads are the best.
3:56 I agree! As Colossians 2-16 says: "Let no one judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a festival, a New Moon, or a Sabbath."
Made this tonight. Granted in texas heat grilling was a bitch. But I said never again after I built it and hubby grilled it. He was sweating. I was in the house chopping and building..... I just went in and took a bite. AND HELL YESSSSSSS WE ARE MAKING THIS AGAIN. HOLY SCAMOLY IT IS INCREDIBLE. The recipe and detail we followed and holy smokes. It was amazing

As a native born Cubano, I AM IMPRESSED! Love the Coleman's Mustard plus your boneless pork ribs, - we always use pig roast center cut, but these ribs seem to be better in taste. Le Heim, Mazeltov! ie. well done!
As a 1st gen Cuban American, that looks fabulous!

I found your channel about 3 hours ago. Needless to say, I went straight home to cook.
I fully support that decision 👊🏻
I've had a version that includes salami. Untraditional, yes, but takes it up a notch. The recipe i make comes from a Cuban born friend, and it was her dad's version: Yellow mustard on bottom, layer of mayo on top bun, always dill pickles. I need a Cuban sandwich not now but RIGHT now. Love the use of the country style ribs, such a flavorful cut.
That is such a great idea thanks for thank you.
Hey Sam you hit the nail on the head with your take on food. God never meant for you not to eat certain things, but be careful how you love your neighbor (meaning others in your community).
Sam, absolutely love your videos your humor is a huge plus. Just finished making the Cuban and unless everyone is lying to me I nailed it. Really appreciate how you keep it quick and easy. Keep em coming 😁

@@samthecookingguy who do shits that you do?
I made this tonight, and it's now one of my favorite things! That marinade is so good!
I'm a Cuban-american, I loved that, people don't get hung up on the bread, it should be tastey, soft crust bread, when it crisps up like that it's amazing.
Bread (Italian/French looking loafs) sold in Ybor City aren't soft crust. Bread sold in Miami isn't soft crusted either. WTF? Cuban bread sold at the Danish Bakery in Publix isn't soft crusted either.
No Cuban bread, no sandwich, asere. Regardless, that's one delicious sandwich! No one can argue that.
By Cuban bread, do you mean a French baguette? 😏
Tito Carbonelli-Hernandez Hahaha.
@@TheShootist Sounds like you might be getting older bread. True fresh Cuban bread is very soft.

Love the simplicity in your food. Always inspires me to cook it myself.
I am a 70 year old woman from (5 generations) Tampa. We were making Cubans 20 years before Miami. Did you know that Cuban Sandwiches were not pressed before the mid seventies. Before then they were toasted open faced under a broiler
70 years old and commenting on CZcams...Awesome....

Do you kmnow that cuban sanwiches were invented in Mexico city in the 50's?
Lol gotta love people from Tampa always posting these comments incessantly on cuban sandwich videos.

As someone who has no access to a legit Cuban sandwich where I live and has been craving one since the time of the Movie “Chef”. This is by far the most informative and very easily do-able recipe videoI have seen so far. Will definitely try it.

And how can anybody give this video a thumbs down or any of Samus videos thumbs down. He put a lot of hard work into these videos and his son is awesome. I love the way this family works together and they're sharing some huge delicious secrets with everybody. How could you not like his videos? Combining a few of your older videos... I used the sous vide method to cook a pork shoulder for 36 hours at 140. Then I cross cut the fat cap and rubbed sofrito and cumin all over before I put it the oven to crisp up the fat. Puerto Rican Pernil on Day 2, makes the best Cuban sandwiches ever because the pork is already butter smooth. This is the recipe I used to get my wife completely past the meat Jacuzzi concept. She never doubted it again.

great stuff, love your perspective, and your energy.
I’m saying this because I love all of you,
No religion, church, priest, pastor, rabbi, or other worldly creation can save you to spend eternity in Heaven with God. The only way is salvation through Jesus. Believe in him, ask for forgiveness, and ask for salvation. His sacrifice on the cross is the only payment for our sins.
I’m not preaching, or judging, as I said, I love you all as my brothers and sisters, God’s creation. Works alone can not pay or price for sin, and I mean no disrespect by saying this. It’s simply I am very concerned for all people that someone searching may benefit from this.
Sam, I pray for you and family often, and thank God for your favorable impact on so many lives. You changed my life, during the pandemic I took up cooking being home and not overseas for work most of the time. Your recipes turned me into a “hero Dad” with my girls.

HEY SAM! I have an idea ... not just for a show but maybe a weeks worth. I'm a full time single dad and I like cooking for my daughter. She is starting to enjoy cooking with me, got her a kitchen for Christmas and thought it would be enough .. guess not. Anyway, how bout some quick and delicious (not like you dont do that already) meals that single parents can make for/with their toddlers, kids what have you!? ... I'd love you for it. Thank you for the consoderation!
Not a dad yet, but I think the right answer here goes something like this: Don't change anything. Keep making the same meals - just accept that a toddler will not ever be useful in the kitchen, ever. What's important is that you include them in these tasks (edit: even if they only make a huge mess every time) . . . they will learn that helping in the kitchen is fun, and it's just what people do together. So when they get a little older (say, 4, 5 or 6), and they're old enough to actually help, they will still want to - before they realize that it's work. ;)
(Google: the Maya method)
Just letting you know if, you do not have a panini press, just wrap a brick in aluminum foil and place it on top for the weight. I use mine all the time. Works like a charm.

You did good .
Hi Sam! I just started watching your channel and enjoy the content and your fun, engaging demeaner. The Cuban sandwich you made is a thing of beauty! Though, while I'm totally down with improvising when you can't find an ingredient, I am urging you that if you can procure a fresh Cuban bread you should use it on your next sandwich. The crusty Cuban bread adds an outstanding level of texture to the sandwich that other types of bread can't touch. It will make a good Cuban sammy a great one!
