- We can all see the Earth is heating up, that polar ice and glaciers are melting, and that ever more fires, floods and droughts are screaming at us that our climate is unraveling. Our societies are also showing signs of unraveling. But the legendary, world-renowned Native American Rights leader, Oren R. Lyons, Faithkeeper of the Turtle Clan of the Onondaga Nation, who, among countless achievements, helped establish the UN’s Working Group on Indigenous Populations and authored or co-authored such profoundly influential texts as: Wilderness in Native American Culture and Exiled in the Land of the Free: Democracy, Indian Nations and the U.S. Constitution, is here to tell us that we can’t give up. We have profound responsibilities to coming generations, and time is of the essence, but if we want to reverse course to prevent climate catastrophe and achieve real peace, we will have to dig deep to transform contemporary society’s core values that underlie and drive the existential crises we are facing.

The American public has been kept ignorant from the very beginning. Let’s remove the wool from our eyes and gather with our true family. Thank you Oren Lyons for the work you are tirelessly doing to shed light, and for sharing the way to live in loving care of each other.
As a British person, I can see that we need the guidance of Native peoples from around the World to help guide us back to our shared humanity; anchored in an appreciation of our oneness with all things in our World. I see the Native Nations as the guardians of our true nature and oneness. I honour your Leaders, the People and your Ancestors. Your stories, traditions and wisdom must be preserved.
We have lost much of native culture in UK and Europe. The horrors and cataclysms brought on by our empires both historical and present shows the deadly consequences of a lack of nature based/spiritual wisdom. I hope more than anything we can regain what we've lost.
Never has this been more important than now. To listen, and to follow the path laid out by native wisdom. For never before have we been so disconnected with earth and nature. And never before have we so humiliated and degraded the sacred ground we stand on. Do we have it in us to make a u-turn?

As a Metis citizen, also Scandinavian and Eurasian, middle child, child of divorce, grandfather subjected to residential school, and twin spirit dealing with multiple major and ambiguous grief and loss, so much trauma, I spend every day simply struggling to exist and belong in a world that doesn't believe in me, know me or want or acknowledge me.
Other than maybe by a few of those on the anonymous mental health site 7 Cups of Tea, I'm treated with abuse and toxicity at best every day of my life. I've never stopped showing up and will just keep going - remembering that sacred part of me and living by it's light.

I am a 10th great-granddaughter of Massasoit Ousamequin who had mercy upon the pilgrim immigrants and covenanted with them and kept it for 50 years to be at peace with each other. I'm also the 10th great-granddaughter of many of the pilgrims themselves too. I love both sides and understand there was a good thing in the beginning. I am grateful the founding fathers who were also my great grandfather's took time to bring in the 6 nations to form yet another covenant to form a more better union. Both sides began wonderfully and ended terribly. Both sides need healing. I am a peacemaker at heart. I have made covenant with my God to help bring us back to this state of peace. I believe this is the way, for all of us to covenant to bring peace again.

Wise words, and I want to further their reach. The problem with democracy, is that we don't have any, but what we have, we call democracy. The system is parliamentarism with polyarchy, groups infighting for power. The system is also dualistic, hierarchical, and fragmenting. It's built for eternal conflict, not for conscious and constructive co-operation. The only way out is to open the gates of 3. "When you only have two options, take the third", or as Chief Oren said: "When you come to a fork in the road, take it." Democracy isn't freedom, it's a special kind of mental prison. Freedom isn't freedom either, as long as it is presented as the opposite of tyranny. The opposite of tyranny is non-tyranny. Freedom is freedom from all structure and framework. That is raw nature where the strongest will dictate the life of everyone else. It is not a road ahead, it's a road back before civilisation. What we need is a non-tyrannical system based on true and real power, not the coercive force of Big Money, Big State, Big Pharma, Big Agro and any other Big anti-life entity. "Organic Leadership". In 1991 I returned to Canada as the Great Spirit called me. By 1993 I was invited to many Sweatlodge Ceremonies by Elders. My colour of ribbon was blue. I became merged within of the Sacred male and female. I was told to carry on providing many Sweatlodge Ceremonies for all people and then received a Pipe Stone carried by an individual from South USA and it he could not leave until it was received. We all need to recognize the Whirling Rainbow and our existence with purpose to evolve into the superconsciousness (our higher self). Funny enough, my mother is Assyrian and I hold deep understanding in purpose. We are at a time of the Great Split and will choose individually our new path to becoming light beings. There are many signs in the night sky which I recognized started in 1996. My prayer has always been that the Native First Nations will stand tall and reclaim their magnificent selves and be recognized as the rejuvenation of all land and peoples. HO.
