Since the drone controller was too op in the pck version I tried to rebalance it, but looks like i overdid this) I'm sorry for that. All I can say in my defense is that yes, the drones get a bonus to attack speed and also a pretty large bonus to crit chance, although this is not displayed. I will try to improve this weapon in the next patch.
Also, I was just today working on a character that would use both turrets and summons and here you are expressing the same idea) It's funny because in addition to this I took a few other ideas of yours for the next update from your playthrough of my mod))
To be clear, like I said in the video it isn't that the weapon is _bad_ because the common version is a fairly strong common. I think it just needs to ramp up a bit more to feel worth paying for upgrades. I don't think it needs _too much_ help.
I think it would be fun if they upgraded in a similar way to turrets. In their current state they feel kind of like having 6 pistols that orbit the character, but if they would get different modes of attack with their upgrades instead, it would really feel unique throughout the run
The crit damage makes it stand out a bit as most structures do not get crit. Perhaps the drones could have contact damage that scales with melee?

Scalding Blanket and Strange Book are so insane together for engineering builds. Seeing you pass that scalding blanket up made me sadge!
Gods I love engineering builds. I downloaded like six mods that add new characters and been getting some fun stuff. Thank you Retro for provide awesome entertainment!
I think severed hand is designed to turn a any brotato into a one hand army
So give it to the illusionist or one handed character
3:31 could probably build a Calculator type character around that. Get bonuses from perfect shops, perfect kills, maybe even avoiding exactsies deaths.

I don't really know anything about brotato aside from what I've seen in your videos, but from what i saw it looks like it scales off crit chance but you didn't have any

Sadly something I remember from playing the Extatonion mod (played awhile back) was that while it had a lot of cool stuff...the weapon upgrades were mostly very lackluster. Many didn't have added effects,boosted scaling, etc.. Instead, many just got a base dmg increase, which while good, isn't very exciting.
I mean… it does crit at least? The drone shots.

nope, the Strange Book makes what I said true, you just weren't following
upgraded drone controller says 60% but also the damage number is higher, so it is not actually 60%.
