It’s pretty much impossible for us to ever be the kind of people we want to be or the kind of people we’d want to be with. Otherwise we wouldn’t want it so desperately, or admire what we admire to begin with. Being born into the sea of better people sucks.
I would never tell you that you’re where you should be or that you’re wrong about how much people love you, because those are your standards and observations. No one else can affect that, no one else can teach you what to value, and that’s a good thing even though it hurts like a black hole.
But I do hope you keep trudging along. There are potential futures where you don’t hate yourself quite as much, and maybe - just maybe - you even believe it when someone says they love you. Futures where you’re someone’s favorite. Crazier shit’s happened, right?
Until then, maybe brew up some coffee, call up someone who makes you laugh, and play some Mario Kart. Or maybe go out with this “they” and revel in that they’ll even take you along and you can listen to their voices. There are smiles to be stolen between nights in the cube.
Or maybe just take another rip idk ;)
