I actually like the side missions. I think they should have taken that aspect of it into the new modern warfare and expanded on it. I actually think people should appreciate the side missions because it's very very rare in a call of duty. Im doing a playthrough of it on my channel.

Black Ops was the lost CoD I bought (felt like cod nosedived from black ops and onward, as opposed to slowly going downhill). Played the rest through friends, they're all garbage. I hate it, and don't buy it.

I play a lot of shooters, and I must say that the infinite warfare campaign is superb. Totally crazy, over the top and super fun experience.
I kept playing the campaign again aand again and did not touch the mp because I can afford the F***ING PSN

I'm a zombies guy, and the maps are actually... REALLY FUN! but it's not the same feeling as shadows of evil from BO3 or Kino der untoten from BO1, that doesn't mean its bad, its just too different for me. If spaceland were a little bit harder, It'll be one of my favorites of the series. Maybe I bought it too late to enjoy the whole "multiplayer experience" but playing zombies with friends is pure happines.
Anyway I enjoyed the way the maps helped the multiplayer, it is done better than in BO3, but thats just from a zombies perspective...

I've played ever COD's since Cod 2 and i would say the campaign is one of the best I've played, because it shows the true meaning of war, the sacrifices, in the credits it has these recorded farewell messages which are quite sad and the ending is one of the best I've played still not my favourite (nothing can beat COD MW2) the multiplayer is not that good, but overall well it's quite good... for those who jump on the bandwagon this is MY opinion and everyone is in tilted to one. Have a nice day all :)

It's a good futuristic shooter. It's great for people who like Halo and the 2 previous C.O.D games. The campaign in this game had an amazing story line and it almost left me in tears at the end. Yes, it left me in tears. Multiplayer had a refreshing, smooth feel to it and felt cleaner than Black Ops 3. The zombies is a super fun experience and is great to play with friends! Overall, I would rate this game a 8.5/10. I give it that rating because seeing its competitors like Battlefield 1, Watch Dogs 2, etc make it lower. But in the end, it's just one year we have to live with this title. And if you don't want it, don't buy it.

The honest problem with the game is not the gameplay, it's not the boosting, it's not the wall running, it's the call of duty badge, infinite warfare just isn't the game that a lot of cod players are looking for, if you slapped a different title on instead of cod, it could be a very successful game
No doubt about that. The whole "Boots on ground" argument is getting stale. You're almost always fighting on the ground in CoD. I don't know how all the hate for CoD got started, but I'm damn sure that most of it just comes from bandwagoners who haven't even tried the game. It's not the best, but it sure as hell isn't the worst CoD. The time theme I could care less for. If the game feels fun, then it's fun. My only real complaint was that the maps just feel like they are becoming smaller and more tight corridored with every release. Other then that though, I'm glad they try to bring new changes to the table.

Dear, random cod player scrolling down the comments this is my honest review of this game. Cod infinite warfare has a solid campaign with a very strong story, characters, and missions like always. Multiplayer on the other hand felt like a crappier version of Bo3 it still has the same movement but the time to kill is as bad as cod ghosts and the maps aren't that great and supply drops make this game pay to win unless your lucky enough to get a the epic variants which is basically impossible unless you have a million dollars. The zombies is no treyarch zombies but it is a very good improvement from extinction. Infinity ward actually put some new perks which is pretty cool. Overall this game is 7/10. This is my opinion so please no hate.

I laughed when Infinite Warfare was announced, and bought Battlefield 1 Day 1.
Fast forward to today, I haven't played Battlefield 1 in months, bought Infinite Warfare on sale a few weeks ago, and just prestiged in it. It's actually an extremely fun, silly multiplayer shooter with a massive amount of depth. If you like playing Titanfall 2, you should give it a shot. The campaign was close to being fucking fantastic, but at the last quarter of the game, it felt like someone reminded Infinity Ward they were making a Call of Duty game, and not an FPS Mass Effect, and told them to wrap it up. The final quarter felt rushed and unsatisfying. If the campaign was a few hours longer, with a second set of side missions to do, it could have been one of my favorite FPS campaigns of all time.
I think this mirrors almost everyone's experience with it.
You actually could have gotten both games for 63 dollars if you had amazon prime. So My mind reads that 59.99 for MW1 and 2.01 for Infinite. Money well spent lmao

Firing the Jackal’s 20mm dragonfly is one of the most rewarding feelings I’ve experienced in a game. Piloting the jackal is my favorite part of the game. I’d pay 60$ for an entire game of doing just that.

Exactly. This is completely like Titanfall, but without the Titans which are the main selling point. Furthermore, the makers of Infinite Warfare just proves their disregard to anything real in the way they make people wallrun for so long without any visible boosting aid, unlike Titanfall where you are always visibly assisted by small jets like a blue jetpack police (thumbs up to anyone who gets the ref ^^). And if it's for the war aspect and gameplay, even Battlefield games 3 or 4 generations ago compete with this on multiplayer gameplay, physics, long-term playability, and graphics.

COD Infinite Warfare is so much better that COD Black Ops 4 because it has a single player campaign. It's 2020 and I can still enjoy COD IW but I can't enjoy COD BO4 anymore. But that's just my opinion though, but I'm very glad to see so many people like COD IW like I do.

Sad that people never gave this game a chance. COD in it's prime was 2007-2012 (MW 1, 2, 3, BO 1, 2 & WaW) and that's what people want and are setting themselves up for failure to if that is what they expect. The backlash for this game got more hate than a COD game that takes place during WWII, but you can't play as a British Soldier lol. I'll take Infinite Warfare over WWII, Vanguard and Black Ops 4 any day.

This game was awesome, so many good memories, it helped with my English a lot for some reason, multiplayer was fun, campaign was great, and space land was beyond amazing, truly one of the best cods out there if not my favorite.
When you said it helped with your English, same with me but with black ops one. I was five to six then and with subtitles on I was reading ahead of what I should be and it surprised me how a game can do that. And yeah this cod isn’t too bad fun to go back to. Anyway if you see this have a nice day!
IW is not even that bad people just love to jump on the bandwagon and hate on it. It has the best campaign of any COD, a very decent multiplayer, and a very unique and fun zombies mode. People need to stop hating and give it a chance.

Yeah i hear the argument a lot but it is a pretty weak one... listen, the problem is that the odler games were just way better in terms of overall story/character-developement and gamedesign. People want boots on the ground/ change of setting since these 2 are the most obvious ones which can forcefully change the gameplay but in the end a bad game is a bad game... another setting or movement-system wont change that. People just do not realize that. My point is: The futuristic setting is great, the new movement-system is nice too, but the devs failed to create a good game so even new interesting features couldnt help.

season pass i think of it as it lets the players that have purchased the SP the year blackops2 was out this enables us Players/ buyers of the SP holders to DLC the blackops2 content into blackops3, like the guns, perks, streaks, and most importantly (THE MAPS).
all that can be done with IW's season pass.

You forgot to mention that this game must not be bought on PC.
Here are the reasons:
1) People who buy the game con Windows Store cannot play with those who buy on Steam.
2) You are going to be pretty much alone: on Steam the game has sold around 16.000 copies at day two (and it's only going to get worse).
So, yeah, here you have the facts. If you really want this game, do yourself a favor and pick it up for one of the two consoles.

I just played the game yesterday and i must say Cod infinite warfare campaign is the best, it's a very unique cod. I love it, fuck the haters, they always hate anything new. If you love old CODs so much then go play the psp or ps2 version. Dumb nostalgic haters. And I dont give a fuck about the multiplayer, i just play for the campaign. I got inspired by how Reyes sacrificed his life to complete the mission, died like a true soldier, no fear of deaths. When i played as Reyes it felt like i was playing as myself because he was a humble and calm person and he cared for his teammates like myself. same as Daniels in COD WW1, i also felt like i was playing as myself because my name is also daniel, and he has the same personality as Reyes too
My grandpa once told me to not judge something based on what others say about it i always think about that when a new game ever comes out and people say it’s bad.

I mean it's got a decent campaign but that's about it. And even the campaign doesn't really count as CoD anymore. It's basically a halo/titanfall rip off.
Everyone complaining about the game and giving it bad reviews in steam. I look at the comments and its all about the damn multiplayer. I don't give two shits about multiplayer! They worked on a good ass campaign! Like it for what is essentially the main part of the damn game and get over your selfes!
BigAsh go watch movies if you want 95% scripted+cutscenes 5% gameplay campaign. There has been almost no majestic singleplayer campaign since Half Life 2
That happens mostly because COD has mindless setting for multiplayer. Of course there are trolls everywhere, but games like Battlefield, Counter Strike, or good multiplayer indie games have significantly less amount of those players, because the gameplay itself is good enough to make players to play properly. COD multiplayer is just mindlessly running shooting dying simulator with 0 strategy 0 tactic 0 teamplay 0 gameplay. No surprise the game has tons of trolling kids all over the places.
You're dumb if you spent $60 for the 6 or so hours of campaign content this game has. It's just not worth it.

I agree, I loved the campaign! I liked the multiplayer too, but you definitely need to have a taste for it, because it falls a little short.
But yes the campaign was amazing, and Nick Reyes, and Nora Salter are amazing characters, and the story was great. I wish it was longer but I thought it was good.

Call of Duty 2 was the last one I was really excited for, but that's because it was the 3rd year of CoD (counting the expansion for CoD 1). Even though there was a 2 year gap between CoD 2 and 4:Modern Warfare because I played on the PC which didn't get 3, it was already feeling samey back then. Call of Duty's biggest thing, whether for better or worse, is that it is a sports game. It releases every single year with basically no changes as a full priced game. This is the 13th straight year of Call of Duty.
And before you hop on board that "YEAH, BATTLEFIELD IS BETTER!!" train, it has been doing the same thing, just slightly better. Battlefield has been riding the modern combat train since 2005 while CoD didn't start it until 2007. And CoD has at least flipped around as well with WaW being WWII again, going into Vietnam and into future warfare. Only thing Battlefield did differently was they did futuristic in 2006 with BF 2142, WWII again with 1943 on consoles, and now with BF 1. The main thing EA does "better" with Battlefield is that they don't release it like clockwork every single year in or around November. But with them now also doing Battlefront, which is really just Battlefield skinned with Star Wars, that may change.

I am one of those original fans that love the original cod's and the modern warfares and the world at war game. My biggest gripe with this game was that they had 3 developers doing the game in cycles but each of the last 3 years they seem to be going further and further into the future and making it more titanfall and halo like rather then giving the core fan base a past or modern shooter again in one of those cycles. Not everyone plays COD for all the futuristic settings and gagdets, some want the oldschool style game they use to make. Doing a future game two years in a row is not bad but 3 years and the promise of 3 or 4 more futuristic games is a bit too much! And it shows that most fans agreed when Battlefield went back to WW1 times and got millions of likes while COD got millions of dislikes.
Now don't get me wrong, I pre-ordered the game but that is because I wanted COD MW1 remastered. That is the only way they said we will get it even though I think a standalone will come in the future. They would have to be niave not do it because a standalone will generate millions of more dollars for them at a later date. But okay, I bought it incase they are too stupid to release a standalone. I played the single player in Infinite and I kind of like it. I like it way more then the online. I still prefer my past and modern shooters but the game is not all that bad.
I think they should have however released this differently. They should have either taken a off year from the futuristic games and had COD MW1, MW2, and World At War Remastered collection released this year while Infinite would come out in 2017, or they should have built a side spinoff like franchise under a new Moniker. If they would have done the set, it would have given hardcore fans what they wanted and also a break from these games. If they done a new game, they could have had one studio work on the new COD like franchise entitled something like "Infinite Warfare or Infinity". And not even us the COD monkier in the game but only in advertisements. Such as the makers of Call of Duty Present "Infinity". Similar to how Bungee makes Destiny now when they started out with Halo. I think this would have lessened the backlash as well as created two franchises for the creators. Then the following year or even the same year they could do classic and modern call of duties with the other teams.
If you think about it, we've only had 3 futuristic games in the Call of Duty games that include advanced movement. Gamers were like "COD is getting old we need something fresh and exciting!" So Sledgehammer came out with Advanced Warfare as a response to that (plus they had to compete with Titanfall). Of course they want to follow the trend so they released Black Ops 3 the next year, slightly changing the movement mechanic and adding in specialists. Of course by the time infinite warfare comes along, somebody is like "we want boots on the ground again, and EVERYBODY jumps on the band wagon.
Here's a little throwback: this happened back in 2007 when WW2 games were dominating the market and Modern Warfare came out. People wanted something new, so they delivered! And they stuck with boots on the ground until 2014. So for those of you who have been hating on the games that have tried to change up the meta give it a chance. I haven't heard a single person complain about the change from Battlefield 4 to Battlefield 1 (probably because it's a darn good game), even though the Battlefield franchise has established itself as a "modern shooter" in recent years.
I understand the hate and criticism but at the same time, a LOT of it is band wagon hating. Peer pressure to conform to the same ideas and opinions. Rent the game and play it first, then form an opinion. I probably just typed a full length essay but I just wanted to share my opinion.

steam players cant play with windows store players! they split their player base...thats fucking stupid! i looked on the steam website and at its peak, infinite warfare has 15,000 active players! thats terrible, BO3 had 63,500 at its peak launch day. way to go activision!

It isn't because of the split between stores on why the player base is so low. PC gamers just aren't buying IW. I would say that most of the PC FPS userbase (that aren't playing CS:GO, TF2, Arma 3 etc), are most likely not playing on Steam right now. They are probably playing BF1, Titanfall 2 or Overwatch. That's just my guess as those are 3 games we don't have statistics (that I am aware of) on concurrent users on PC. According to Steamspy, IW has only 66,773 copies owned by Steam users and less than half of those players have even played the game so far. Not sure how it is doing on console right now, but this is the worst COD launch I think I have seen even with the PC crowd who honestly haven't been as enchanted by the franchise for a while now for numerous reasons.

No, usually a game is released on the PC and any PC gamer can interact/play with any other PC player unless the publisher has structured or regionalised servers (which they can do to tackle latency related issues).
In this case Microsoft have built a user silo and Steam have a user silo, since CoD Infinite Warfare doesn't rely on dedicated servers (it uses Peering for multiplayer connections) There really is no excuse for this bullshit especially on an open platform. Essentially Microsoft have been trying to take back the PC as a gaming platform and they are doing it by implementing artificial restrictions and screwing customers by building playerbase silo's.

Tips for Cod to be great again
1. Scrap any ideas on continuing on Infinite Warfare and the other future titles
2. Start off with a refreshing WW2 title, I don't think cod could pull off WW1, focus on a trio of them
3. Start up another franchise that is a modern day focused on terror maybe, I think that would be interesting, have this be like infinity wards project and activisions being the WW2
4. Keep a good balance of small fast paced maps to larger maps, in my opinion and a lot of people that I have talked to they like some of the big maps in MW2, and I think putting some bigger maps in would be nice however you could put in a gamemode with just the small maps
