When your Laminate curls like that, you can run it through again and it will straighten out. I have 3 mil as well so what I do is cut down the first one and punch it, then do a second layer of laminate trim down and punch again. It makes it sturdier. The rose gold or gold disks would look beautiful with this! I love the paper! It’s beautiful! I would also use a thicker cardstock. Thank you for the tutorial!

This is old, but I wanted to suggest printing on double sided cardstock. Then you can cut exactly along the paper line and it would be even with your inside paper.
Although I am wondering if the regular flexing of the cover would make it more prone to peeling, which I always wonder about when cutting exactly like that.

The rose gold rings would be adorable with that paper!

Have you thought about printing on both sides of the paper to create your cover? Maybe make the template for the back cover a bit bigger just to ensure that when you cut it out there is no white showing on it. Speaking from experience with creating dashboards that I printed on both sides. Maybe it's just my printer, but even though I have the template centered on the page I create/print, but if I use the same template for front and back I find I still have a bit of white showing on the back side when I cut it out.

Maybe you can try put some adhesive between the pages before laminating?

That is a great idea, I used to have one of those adhesive rollers but it ran out, I need to pick up another one.

I've tried using the HP punch for my own covers numerous times and they don't work well. They get stuck and or you break the punch. I have since moved to the arc punch.

Thats what I use, too, I hope they come out with a better punch some day, it would make life easier for sure.

What printer do you use ? The quality of the artwork is amazzingg!!!

    • @Planninginspired

It's just like a $100 HP, you just have to make sure you print on the "high quality" setting for your printer. It's slow but it turns out great, and I'm sure it uses a lot of ink too but I don't mind it every once in a while.
