- I decided to purchase the TWSBI Eco Cream Rose Gold and the Caffe Bronze, based solely on the colour. Was it worth it to try these pens again? #fountainpen #fountainpenreview

I am a TWSBI fan. They were my first "step up" fountain pen. I consider the TWSBI Eco to be a great workhorse pen that never fails me
I agree.
I love this! I am so glad I have it another try!
@@KarynaLovesToPlan The TWSBI Eco, TWSBI Diamond 580 (My weakness is the Rose Gold... #I_Admit 😂) and the TWSBI Diamond Mini in... Rose Gold, of course) are my most favorite pens (Even though, I really love my Kaweco Student as much as my TWSBI's)
I'm glad you gave the TWSBI ECO another chance! I love my TWSBI ECOs!! I have 12 of them in my collection now and they're all inked up. Although I have other more expensive fountain pens, I always grab my TWSBIs.
I'm so glad I did too, Connie! Otherwise, I would have missed out on the colour that matched Lucy!
I love my TWSBI ECOs! Great writers and massive ink capacities!
I've had a couple of other TWSBIs that I was not a fan of but I love these two!
I love that brand. I have watched a number of videos with my favs showing the more expensive ones that I thought I needed. I did purchase them, but I also go back to the less expensive ones. Love TWSBI. Thank you for sharing.
I do love my expensive pens but that doesn’t mean my less expensive pens should get any less love!
I have both TWSBI pens as yours. I love TWSBI pens. O ver the years, I have had no negaive experiences at all. Although I do have other expensive pens, I still love TWSBI pens, esp light, earthy tone colours.
So great to hear you have had such good experiences!
I bought the ECO in glow green. I have a difficult time passing up pens that glow in the dark! 🤩 I got the EF nib and mine writes like a champ!
That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing, Steve!
I ordered my first TWSBI after watching this. It will be my first fountain pen. I got it in a fine. I used your link too.
Yay! Hope you enjoy it!
Congrats on your first pen!!! I hope you enjoy it so much!
I didn’t love the TWSBI Eco stub. I was so glad that I decided to try a couple of different nib sizes, because I now love them.
Yes I tried an Eco stub and was not a fan but I love these!
I love TWSBI pens. I am an ECO and a 580 fan. I just purchased the new Iceberg blue one. My next will be the cafe. None of them have ever failed me. ❤
Highly recommend the Caffe! Colour is beautiful in person!
The beauty is we can experience them all. Love your videos and I am thankful you take the time to share ❤
Thank you!
Good morning Karyna!!
I’m a big fan of the TWSBI brand and the ECO line. For the price it’s difficult to not like them. The only TWSBI product I’m not a fan of is their stub nibs. I had an issue with my first TWSBI 580 and they fixed it and no issues to report since.
I really like the cafe bronze. I ordered one and I’m excited to receive it.
I’m a bit guilty on devaluing pens but I was able to snap out of it. My collection is very diverse and I enjoy all my pens very much.
I hope you enjoy your new ECOs.
Have a wonderful day!!
I had a TWSBI Eco with a stub and it was too big for me. It was a smooth writer but way too broad for me. Glad you understand where I'm coming from about trying not to devalue inexpensive pens!
So pretty!!! I love my TWSBI Eco. I use blue ink for work and I have a dedicated ink (S.T. DuPont Royal Blue) for my Eco for work and it works great as a pen that I don’t need to worry about how much ink I have. The TWBSI is a great way to travel with an inexpensive fountain pen (TSA can be a challenge). You chose the best colors!
I love that! Great workhorse pen!
A good honest review of a good pen.
I Zentangle too and never thought about using my fountain pens. I will have to give it a try.
Zentangles are such a great way to use your pens!
@@KarynaLovesToPlando you have any videos showing you zentangling with a fountain pen? I looked back a few months but can’t see anything.
I also have the Caffe except in a broad and it is SO stunning!! So glad you gave them another try; you have such a splendid pair!
It's so good! Glad I gave them another chance too!
Thanks for posting this interesting review. I own c. 10 Twsbi Ecos of different nib sizes and divide them mainly between F and stub 1.1 nibs- depending on my mood. Recently, I bought the Dark Sapphire version with an EF nib, which I have found extremely good- combining a very good, precise line with a surprising amount of ink flow. I have the Cream Rose Gold and am now very tempted to get the Coffee Bronze after seeing your excellent review. One of the great things about Twsbis is that they are such good value that it is much easier to 'justify' yet another compared with indulging in yet another expensive Sailor or Platinum pen! Almost guilt free pen collecting...
I know many people who like to collect TWSBI's - like you said, they are at a great price and they are good quality!
I am currently using the Caffe Bronze in my 5-year Hobo; have it inked with P.W. Akkerman Hop Jessbruin. I love the "capping sounds" too!
I have never tried that ink! Still deciding which ink to use in June!
I was just looking at these in person at Pen Boutique. I’ve been really drawn to the neutrals this year and haven’t yet actually acquired a pen to meet that need. I opted not to get them today, but they will stay in the wishlist now that I saw the Cafe color in person. Thank you for sharing your experience!
If it’s meant to be and you’re still thinking about them, it will be!
I have the cream in EF and absolutely love it, still looking at the caffe because I love the colour. I enjoy using my TWSBI Eco pens.
It's so good! I do love both of these colours!
ive got my eye on these two as well as the indigo/bronze. im not ready to pick yetttttttt
Good luck choosing!
After selling my TWSBI pens several months ago, I also just bought these two pens because of the color way. I need to use them to see if I like them more than I did the first time. Thanks as always for a great video.
Have fun! I think I like these more because of the colour ways!
Looks like you got yourself a couple of keepers.
Yes absolutely!
Pen Realm (Kirk Speer) still has both the Caffe Bronze and Cream Rose Gold in stock. Also the Indigo Bronze in very limited nib choice. I have the Caffe Bronze with his Medium Cursive Smooth Italic inked up with Robert Oster's Pen Chalet Exclusive Scorpion and it really matches the pen body color very well. I love it!
Good to know! I hope to see Kirk at the PNW Pen Show and get him to do some custom grinds for me!
Hi Karyna. I have purchased two TWSBI Ecos and both arrived as not good pens. In fact, I have returned the first one, and kept the second just for the tools that came with; despite the fact I also regretted that choose soon thereafter. Obviously, people have different experiences. For me, that was enough. I would not be purchasing ever again any such pen; I respect statistics a lot, even though the tested sample was very small (yet, a 100% failure). 😢
I am sorry you have not had a great experience!
I love my TWSBI’s. They are affordable and work great for me. I also love the Diamond 580s; I use them for my shimmer inks and have no issues. I prefer the Diamond 580 for shimmer because the nib unit can be taken off and I can flush that part with a bulb syringe. I have a few more expensive pens, but my TWSBI’s and Nahvalur pens are my favorite.
Thank you for sharing! I've heard mixed things about shimmer inks in the Eco's so I'll be more careful for sure.
I’m a fountain pen newbie and I love those pens! I thought they were fancy 😂
They are fancy! Especially as a newbie. We all change our opinions about pens as time goes on.
I was congratulating myself on resisting these two pens on my no/low spend! I might now be tempted…..to them both ! 🤣
I was tempted and couldn't decided either!
Twsbis are awesome writers and beautiful pens.
About the same style but with a #6 Jowo nib, there is the Divine Design Eyedropper. Same large ink capacity, works with std converters, cartridges or eyedropped. Writing quality about the same, with large, well tested nib.
Thanks for the info!
My first TWSBI was the Dimond 580 white and rose gold. I thought it was a beautiful pen, the the nib is scratchy! Not just a little feedback but like really scratching the page. I just thought that was what a twsbi was like, till I tried the grape mini (it was too cute NOT to give it a go) And that's when I changed my mind about twsbi. I have 4 now and they are all so smooth. I don't want to get ride of my first one because it was one of my first pens ever but I hate using it. I am glad to hear you gave it another try and found it to your liking. They are lovely pens, that I enjoy.
Sounds like misaligned tines on that TWSBI! Get it tuned by a nibmeister and it will write amazingly!
@@KarynaLovesToPlan That's what I was thinking. I will bring it to the Toronto pen show in the fall and hope it can be fixed.
I love the sound of capping my Eco, sounds like a solid pen. I'm always more delicate with my Pelikans. I just don't understand why the price is so much more for gold or bronze trim on Twsbi. Is it really that expensive to produce? Lovely pens and a great video.
The capping noise is just so pleasing! I think the higher price may also have something to do with the availability of that material.
I love twsbi pens. I own 7, but not those 2.
Shows how much you love your TWSBIs! 💕
Where can I buy that pen profile stamp?
They are from Everyday Explorers, in the New Pen Day collection.
I love everything about TWSBI FPs except for their octagonal finial and cap. It makes them look clunky.
It’s funny what some people love about the pen can turn others off!
@@KarynaLovesToPlan I do like the cap clicking noise too, that you mentioned. 😅 I love hearing that clicking noise when I cap my pens.
Sorry if the question was asked, but what the color of your momento zero? Thank you!
That’s the Milky Way from Stilo e Stile
I work in a foutain pen store located in 3 locations in Québec (Québec city, Montréal, Rosemère, I'm in Rosmère) and I got to see them a few days before they released. I was also able to compare them between each other, including the white. I was actually pleasently surprised with the Café. We don't see browns often, but that light brown with that trim fits well together!
Gosh do I hate the Cream. I wake up at night just to hate on it. You look at the Cream alone and it's fine, but put it next to the White PGT and you're like "Oh my god so much better!" I swear, it's as if it tries to be white but fails blatantly. It's also slightly... Yellow?! I would've tolerated warmer tan-er Cream, but yellow!?!? I have shivers of disgust writing this lmao
As for my opinion toward the Eco at large... It's pretty much the same as you (won't use the full capacity, slightly too thin at the section, a bit backweighted when posted but a solid writer) Funny enough, my Fine writes so big it's bigger than my Diplomat Aero's Medium lmao. I never bothered changing the nib tho, it's super smooth and wet just how I like it. The best part of the Eco is the wrench. My OCD-ass REQUIRES my pens to be flushed of every atom of ink left in the feed. It's a very godpen but it's not something I'd buy a truckload of. I have the Glow Green, I hopped on the hype train when they released... ...And the purple immediatly released after and I got super jealous for a while lol. I'd say it's a good "second pen". I wouldn't buy it as a first pen since it's not a cartridge pen and requires an ink bottle, but if a newbie wants to do the jump and learn about the anatomy of a pen? Give him an Eco.
TLDR: The Cream lives in my head rent free and we share almost the same opinion
Sounds like there’s a love hate relationship with the Eco. Thanks for sharing the very detailed workings of your mind.
@@KarynaLovesToPlan Ah dunno when I want to I pump word after word after word lol. And yes my teachers disliked me in school!
@@justindesrosiers3145 there’s value in being able to communicate effectively and concisely
Awww, no pic of Lucy :(
I am so sorry! I posted it as a photo on my channel!
For me I’d rather save up for a pen that I really want. I only have 3 pens and 1 on the way, but I love them all. Because knowing me I would buy the pens I didn’t really want to get instant gratification and the pens that I really wanted too. Then I would be overwhelmed and mad that I got them all because I was trying to get the quick fix. I tried the twisbis but they are a pain in the ass to clean.
I totally get that. The pens I thought I wanted (in similar colours) were limited edition and no longer available so I gave these a chance and am glad I did!
Those pens are gorgeous and look so good together!! 🥹 I’m glad your two week experiment had a happy ending. I’m looking forward to seeing which pen you ended up choosing for your 5-year. :)
I’ve really fallen for the latest round of TWSBI colour options. 🥹 After resisting the Indigo and Crème colour options, I gave into the Caffe Bronze after testing a few ECOs at Wonder Pens. No regrets!
Thanks so much! 😊 No regrets on these either! Glad I decided to give them another chance.
I'm considering getting the TWSBI Mini in Grape. Love the colour! My hesitation has been all the reviews of cracks, but if I don't try it I don't know if I like them and TWSBI's are supposed to be easy to clean and I do love sheening and shimmering inks. 😇🩷🙏🙌
Hope you enjoy it! From my friends' experience, cracking has come from removing the nib and feed often. So if you're not doing that, it may prevent cracking!
The TWSBI Eco is one of my fave pens. I have the White & Rose Gold but not these two. BTW Cult Pens still has both in stock as of 25 May.
Ooh thank you! They're also having their birthday sale right now!
