    I too hadn't thought about why a signal was neither at ground or 5v until you pointed out that the pcm would interpret that differently than a 4v or 1v value... excellent point!

    THAT WAS THE BEST,,,,,,,, NO LONG DROWN OUT VIDEO JUST THE FACTS AND AT THE END GET THIS WE ACTUALLY LEARNED HOW TO DO THE TEST AND WHAT TO LOOK FOR AND WHY. NOW IF THAT WASN'T A DINER AND MOVIE I DON'T KNOW WHAT WAS . THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME PLEASE LET THERE BE MORE !!!!!!!!!!

    Nice walk-through. Good point about the different range, to make it easier for the computer to distinguish and diagnose open or shorted ground, etc.

    Should hv shown top of snap on do u use wire with or without ground

    How much is that u scope it’s nice ya can manipulate the waveform after you stop the recording. Almost had a better pic than the snap on

      I think the scope alone is less than $200 and the complete kit is less than $500 with a low amp clamp and ignition adaptors.

      @@ThePracticalMechanic maybe I’ll learn howto read ignition waveforms in a few more vids from ya. Only secondary ignition I can recognize is lean condition

      Very handy for single channel use and its very popular with the mobile diagnostic guys. I prefer a 2 channel scope and always have the snapon out so I typically grab the snapon first.
