Routing a Roland TR808 into Logic Pro 11

What better way to celebrate 808 day than firing up this vintage original #RolandTR808. This the one all the rappers talk about and electronic producers lust over. It’s rare to see one in the wild so figured I’d shoot a quick one take video breaking down the routing.

could you explain about the sync ? how can you have the control from the Arturia thru the 808 ? Thanks!

Sure! I can go both ways. In this configuration Logics master clock is started by the transport on the Aturia Beatstep Pro. The Beatstep also sends out din sync to the TR808 clock. You could also run the TR808 as the master clock and send sync to the beat step pro. If you wanted to get caaarazy you could use the TR808 as the master clock for Logic routed through the Beatstep. In this case the logic would record fluctuations of the analog clock in its master tempo automation. I'll try and post a video of all the routing next month

I agree I have 30 TR808's all controlled by one sequencer but after 10 minutes I actually don't like the Tr,808 I prefer Tr909 and CR76 the only thing the TR808 has that's ok is the kick and I hate the cow bell
