    I had the HRV, it is not even a competition, the Eclipse wins hands down in everything. The Eclipse is just better.

    Definitely Eclipse cross. The interior and engine already win a driver's heart. As for family, the safety features in the EC wins hands down. So I don't see any further comparisons are required.

    Eclipse Cross all the way. God here in the USA the Mitsubishi would have never won they hate Mitsubishi here. I have owned a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage ES (top trim in this model year USA), 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 SE (top trim USA), 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport GT AWC, and now we own two 2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross SEL’s with Touring Package and S-AWC (top trim USA) in Octane Blue and Red Diamond. Mitsubishis are great cars and super reliable. Plus the two Mitsubishi dealers we deal with are amazing and getting close to $7,000.00 off MSRP beat all the competition hands down. Mitsubishi all the way!!!

    1. The Eclipse Cross is not priced a few thousand too much. You get more of almost everything (except space and cornering ability; but who buys a car like this to take a corner fast?) in the EC than the HRV, and the EC is just generally more modern and pleasant to be in.
    2. The tires can be changed once they reach their point-of-no-return.
    3. Stop saying ‘however’ so much. Lol 😛 jks.
    Otherwise, great review and a perfect comparison of the two vehicles.

    I've had an Eclipse Cross for about a month now and I love it. Yeah, it has some body roll but not terribly so and I'm also not driving it like I drive our VR-4. My brother has an HR-V and likes it ok. He says it's "barely an SUV". LOL In fairness, things that might be an issue for other owners, such as needing to put carseats in and out of the vehicle, are not an issue for me. I have 2 Newfoundlands though...they fit pretty well in the vehicle with room for gear on short trips. I enjoyed your video. Thought it was a decent comparison. :-)

    You seem to have forgotten to mention the superior rear vision that the Eclipse Cross has when using the rear view mirror (no visible windscreen wiper as its concealed at the top, and the extra glass section giving a better lower view area) You also didn't mention that the EC has all round reverse cameras, and whilst you mentioned the HR-V's Panoramic Roof, you failed to mention the EC's split Front opening, rear panoramic sunroof. All in all, I feel this review was biased towards the honda.

      It isn't sure or not, it's fact! Then look at 4x4 performance, look at NCAP safety rating, and some more the most crucial aspects that in general makes particularly SUV and any other car better, are better on Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross.

    Bro the eclipse has adaptive steering so base on your of driving it will adjust ....once it detect prolong spirited driving it will form up the steering.... also while the eclipse may feel like its leaning more in corners its awd technology will allow you to go around corner way harder than the hrv... so I will only give boot space to the hrv over the honda, which is not much

    My UK 2015 spec HR-V has 2 USB and 1 HDMI port in the centre console. The head unit has no USB port by the screen, and there's no space saver spare fitted or available. Different specifications for different markets. We have to make do with either a 1.6 diesel or a performance challenging 1.5 130 p.s. (128 b.h.p.) petrol engine. But at least we can have either a manual or CVT gearbox with the 1.5 petrol engine.

    • @chasingcars

    Why are cars in North America better equipped? Is that a discrimination from the dealerships or the manufacturers?
    I wonder what's the name of the Eclipse Cross' new segment since it is slightly bigger than the ASX CX3 Kona HRV and C-HR.
    Great review and keep it up.

    • @chasingcars
      @chasingcars  Před 6 lety +2

      It's definitely an in-betweener car but when you have SUVs through on test currently, the Eclipse Cross is definitely more like the small SUVs in interior space and overall dimensions than the medium class. That's why we don't agree with calls to compare it to the Tucson, CX-5 and Tiguan set. They're meaningfully bigger, in the back and in the boot.

    • @chasingcars
      @chasingcars  Před 5 lety

      Could have gone either way, but given the CR-V is available with a third row, I place that into the clear midsize category. Also, the Eclipse Cross is far closer to the HR-V in length than the CR-V:
      HRV length - 4343mm
      Eclipse Cross length - 4405mm
      CR-V length - 4596mm

    • @nabilm2941
      @nabilm2941 Před 6 lety +1

      Francois Gultig the CX5 compares to the Outlander and CRV not this, and the HRV compares to the ASX. The Eclipse Cross is probably a new segment on its own, but priced similarly to the HRV that's why they are comparable.

    • @chasingcars
      @chasingcars  Před 6 lety +1

      We think the Eclipse Cross is at the large end of the small segment, rather than the small end of the medium segment. Obviously, you can argue that point either way. However, actually living with these two showed that the Honda was the more practical car - it's much bigger in the back and in the boot, which is what is most important for families.
