Someone has been habouring some anger and i guess its all coming out in this album and im loving it. I also love the whole sound of it. I love this so much.
the best music, rock and metal especially, come from anger and repressed emotions, and considering the current state of the world and culture, there is alot of that going around

The injustice and lack of empathy in the world is tearing humanity apart at the seams. We have to be "The Human Radio" and put the change out there. Cancel culture has superceded the old choice we had to simply "change the channel" if we were offended by something. Protection if free speech and the right to individual opinions is being erased.

It means some people have totally no empathy towards others, one way to say it is that's why there's so many school shootings. The people with zero empathy are really the one's pulling the trigger.
This evolution of Shinedown throughout the years is easily the coolest thing about this band!
I can still remember the first time I heard the song The Sound of Madness, I was blown away, as I have been by most everything Shinedown has ever done, Diamond Eyes is such a good song, but this one?? Maybe I need to listen to it again, but Im just not feeling it. I like the message, but the song?? Meh They are still one of my favorite bands of all time, and they most certainly dont have to cater their music to me.

Almost 20 years ago I heard 45 by Shinedown. I told a friend of mine this band will go on to become one of the greatest bands ever. Just saying.
45 was my introduction to Shinedown. That was ten years ago

Each Shinedown song is all its own...each song has its own identity. I love that the band is so creative and are able to make each song different both in sound as well as in message. Love it! 🤘

@Kens Kooler i completely disagree. i love planet zero specifically (the song, not the album). i literally spent 3 hours teaching myself the riff on guitar because i was that obsessed with it
Loving the new stuff. Been following them since tickets were 8 bucks at local venues and you could sit at the bar with them after the show. Loved the first and 3rd album, but felt they were getting away from who shinedown really was after that. This album has brought me back in thus far. Well done fellas

I have every album of Shinedown, though I have not been able to see them live. I have played Threat to Survival, Amaryllis, and Attention Attention so many times over and over. It does not get old. Unfortunately for me Threat To Survival was the only album where I couldn't like every song. I only like a good 4 or 5 songs off of it. All the other albums are bangers though!

I love how Shinedown has gone political...without actually becoming political. Its cool because its a neutral stance but exposes the problems at the same time.
The way it's going, they are coming for the neutral point of view.
Just try and talk about the war in Eastern Europe seeing both sides of the conflict and watch how fast you'll be smeared as a Putin apologist.
Taking the neutral route is how I've lived most of my life because I do try to see both sides. Voicing how you feel about it all is so difficult. I admire that they can talk about this stuff in a way that applies to both sides of arguments. I'm so excited for this full album drop. Been listening to these two songs on repeat for a while.

I constantly am labeled as a putin sympathizer just because I understand both sides and don't pick one. It's the exact same thing with politics. In America, they pit Republicans against democrats. It does nothing but separate because most of what the politicians spew are lies and propoganda with the sole purpose of getting what THEY want

That makes four consecutive #1 hits on U.S. Mainstream Rock that are protest songs, all four of them combining for 16 consecutive weeks at #1 so far.
