- REEL HAS NEW OWNER! I found a lot of good candidates but one of them stood out because he has been with me since 100 subs and i know him and I know he will take good care of it. It is Scotty, from 'Scotty Hill aka Catfishnfreak' . You can check his channel here : • Video
I watched my dad take apart every reel in our family collection after each fishing trip. He would loved internet and this channel for some of the more difficult reels. He left for that Great Fishing Pond in the Sky over 30 years ago, but would truly enjoy this video. I would love to give your reel a new home! Thanks for the offer.
I love how you have the patience to break it down your informational videos with a step-by-step process what you're doing thanks for sharing
This video was a treat. You are a reel master.
Great job here sir. I picked up a few on vacation a couple yrs ago due to it being what was available to me at the time in a rush. This is a good example of bushings not always being a bad thing over bearings. I really dont think other manufacturers can come close to beating them at $25
Glad you left it as found to show us. That fine silty mud from the Lasalle Lake slowly seeped in. FYI. Harbor Freight has some stuff called EvapoRust. I learned about it from guys who restore old vintage vacuum tube radios. It is non toxic and removes rust very well and does not attack good metal. The results from this stuff is amazing. Fantastic job on the restoration. Good tip on reversing the superline. I have also heard of guys doing this to double the life of their superlines. Especially since it costs so much. Good video. Hope you find a youngster fisherman that wants/needs the reel.
Nice job! Cool to see the process👍
Awesome job. I think I will try to bring some of my old reels back to life. That will be a good reel for someone for sure.
Another great video full of great information - thanks. I have one of these reels and agree with others who have mentioned that they are a great value for the price. I also hope the person this reel goes to will share pictures or a video, you deserve the satisfaction that will give you.
GOOD job! I started out with reels just like that. You are doing a very good thing.
Good stuff someone will appreciate the effort you put forth 👍
Great job cleaning this reel up!!👍👍
Great job!
I have had a couple of Optix reels; a 4000 size and a 500 size. Decent reels for the price. $20-25 at most stores.
Excellent video as always. Great idea on how to handle the giveaway too. Those okuma reels are really nice from what I hear. I think Luke from cats and carp uses them more than anything and I'm pretty sure he could buy about any reel he wants. Thanks for the video and I always look forward to another!
Great video
Nice! Im working on restoring an old Mitchell - Garcia 400 now.
