- The Atlanta Hawks fell short to the Chicago Bulls with a 131-116 play-in loss and were eliminated from playoff contention. Trae Young finished with 22 points off 4-for-12 shooting, 3-for-8 behind the arc and six turnovers. The point guard's name has been thrown across the basketball world on where he will play next season and the Los Angeles Lakers have been rumored to be a destination. Skip Bayless, Paul Pierce and Keyshawn Johnson react to the Hawks loss, then discuss whether Ice Trae will be a good fit for the purple and gold or a different squad next season (if he leaves Atlanta).

Trae young plays for stats. He has the most empty 30/10 games I’ve seen in awhile. If he focuses on passing more than scoring, he has a chance to have a Steve Nash lite impact on a franchise but unfortunately he wants to be a scorer.
It's not his final game with the Hawks because no team wants to trade for him. Trae is an undersized guard that turns the ball over at a crazy rate and is a inconsistent shooter. His game does not impact winning at all!

Dejounte Murray is better than Overrated Trae Young. He’s a better scorer, shoots a better 3pt percentage, and has the same playmaking ability. He’s also superior defensively compared to Trae too. Trae is a waste of cap space.
Trae was passing the ball to Murray while Murray was being double and triple teamed. That's not what a high IQ PG does.

The problem is Trae Young thinks he’s Steph Curry but he’s not. He’s an inefficient, ball dominant, turnover prone small guard, that plays zero defense. Take this play in game for example: Casual fans will see his stats and say “he had 22 and 10!”, sure….but he also had 6 turnovers and was MINUS 27!! When the Hawks made that run in the second quarter to cut it down to 4 after being down 18, Trae was on the bench. What makes Curry great is that he’s equally as effective off the ball as he is with the ball in his hands. When Trae doesn’t have the ball in his hands, he essentially becomes a non factor, much like Harden.

This narrative around Trae’s TO bothers me. That series against MÍA, for instance, ATL had no one else to handle the ball on the roster. Then they got Murray for that reason. We completely skim over that Luka also has a ton of TO’s with less assists (more points, yes) and the Hawks were without two of their most important players against the Bulls - and Trae just came off injury.

Luka also turn over the ball a lot, but his production basically cancels that out. If Trae is committing lot of turnovers and can't barely contribute, he's basically a detrimental to the team. Too small to rebound, and those ticky tack foul calls no longer works. So he ended up chucking those long range bomb 3s.
I think Trae Young played his last game in a Hawks uniform last night and he needs to get out of Atlanta. He will probably go to SA and team up with Wemby in the rebuilding Spurs
