Gutted, truly gutted. Such amazing talent taken too early. Only found his solo stuff 3-4 years ago and have played his stuff weekly ever since. What a voice. What fantastic musical diversity. RIP Mark
Loads of the Screaming Trees songs that Lee Conner wrote were outside of Mark's natural range, like Black Sun Morning, off of Buzz Factory but he managed them and sang them again and again and again. He is a very rare vocalist of perseverance, natural charisma, long years of practice and a gifted set of pipes. Not just lucky to be gifted with the kind of voice he has, as I'm sure he would probably, self-effacingly, say. They talk about people being 'a national treasure'. He's one of America's; no doubt but I feel very lucky that I've had him in my listening rotation for as long as I have and consider him to be an international treasure, as well.
I have never been the type of person that gets upset and cries when one of my favorite musicians or favorite actor actress whatever passes away and I never could understand people that you would get so upset about it because you didn't know them but they did bring you Joy but I don't know that sounds rude but on that note I did cry when I learned that Mark lanegan had passed away and I didn't know somebody told me within the last few months and I did cry I love him all like to the point of little girl with love Justin Bieber I have such a crush on him not Justin Bieber mark lanegan rest in peace and go give my mom a hug I made her listen to this song and she liked it she said it's a little dark but in my mom passed away in August and I just got too emotional to finish my posting and so thank you for letting me ramble I hope everybody has the best day
I look at the sky, I see an airplane as it flies Is this the way they said Jesus came? Gone through St. Louis, gone straightaway And I hear the winter will cut you quick If tears were liquor, I'd have drunk myself sick Oh, oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh Woman are you home? A house of cards, a frame of bones Here I am earthly bound Said hallelujah, I'm going down And the River Jordan is deep and wide I think I see forever across on the other side Oh, oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh I look at the sky I see a nightbird as it flies Over the old bent cherry trees Shivering in a row Down here the winter will cut you quick These tears are liquor and I've drunk myself sick Oh, oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh And the dead of winter will cut you quick These tears are liquor and I've drunk myself sick
I think he had a decent run, I don't think he wanted fame but he was able to record a lot of music and we have that to treasure and love for the rest of our lives ❤

I came here from supergirl season 4 finale episode. But stayed here for the song. Hopefully whenever leviathan appears in season 5 this song will be played.
Thank god there are such poets, low key songwriters. I was not able to sing any popular songs. It was weird. In a company, everyone would say to me I am a tone deaf. They collectively considered. Thanks. Because I just don't shine when everyone is singing. I have a register break in the middle of where everyone else has a normal diapason. So this was murderous to my voice to sing with everyone in the range. When I try to take octave lower or higher - on borders there I also hit strains or unvoiced notes. And everyone thinks I am a pretentious showcasing tone deaf buffoon. So I am sitting silent when people sing. Thank God my favorite male writers drawn to use lower registers: Lanegan, Cave, Peter Steele, Valo, some of the Waits, some of Morrison. Well, of course, I do not tune down Steele or Valo, I mean, I can sing their songs, but when they go behind C2 and deep into the first octave - I say - 'cmon, man. Tell me - how are you doing that. Some of the standard-tuned songs I cannot sing even full step down. I play alone. I tune lower register songs down a full step, then they fit in my lower register and I sing them perfectly. But I really do not want to play to people. I am really turned down.
Goodbye Mark. Thanks for having us all blessed with your gift.
I cant see him singing this song and not cry, somoene else?
Lanegan is one of the rare singers that sounds way better live than recorded.. his voice is raw gold.
Only discovered Mark's fantastic music within the last few months. Im truly hooked and can't get enough. Better late than never. Rip Mark

Gutted, truly gutted.

Would anyone happen to know the name of the guitarist?
Can anyone share with me the names of his band members? I know Aldo Struyf, but what about the others? Thanks.
It's not the Model, it's the Mileage.
Who gave this a thumbs down? Get a rope!
Who is the guy playing guitar and doing backup vocals?
Steven Janssens is on guitar but most of the backup vocals is Frederic Lyenn Jacques on bass
Is that Johnny cash on guitar??
who is the guitarist?
Bye
this sounds like a gloomy kind of gospel connected with some heavenly line?
NECESITO DROGA.
It's weird to hear a male singer with testosterone these days.
I fucking agree!
