- This video was made to show how low Lake Tawakoni is at the start of 2015. The lake is 13ft low and all the ramps are in bad shape.
It was a very cold morning and you can still see ice on the water in some places.

Andy, Thank you for sharing! Those of us that live near Lake Tawakoni are saddened by the drought conditions and major impact of water reduction due to it being used as a major water source for the city of Dallas! Most everyone hears "drought conditions" but just doesn't understand how bad it is.
Man, that is some awesome video. I haven't been too Tawakoni in about 2 years and it looked nothing like this. So said, praying that it gets back to normal real soon..

what are those little markers by the boat launch?skinny things sticking out of the water right in the middle of what little water is there
I believe those are PVC pipes that they put as a guide to keep out of the shallow areas. You stay to the right of them to stay in the deeper cut to make it out to the main lake.
Dallas Tx is water hunger. Look at the new lake wanted to be built on the Sulphur River basen. It will be nothing more than a Cooper lake as well.
All lakes west from Lake Fork on are showing the impact of drought conditions. Pretty soon there will be no more lakes west of fork including Lake Fork.
What is it going to take for them to outlaw selling lake water and spring water to the fracking companies.
Very sad to see. I grew up around that lake.
She's plumb full now...and then some. In fact, it filled up shortly after this video. The water level rose 45ft at the dam...45ft! And so much rain now it's nuts. The folks down river are seeing the overflow for sure.

Cedar Creek lake was this bad when We moved away over the summer :(

Major water restrictions and conservation could easily end this. Big middle finger to those who constantly water their lawns, this video is a DIRECT result of those demonstrating excessive usage.

Its been like this well before people watered their lawns in the past. Not it is overflowing as I write this response
Dallas is water hungry! Everybody talks about Drought. Fly over Dallas see how many Swimming Pools they are! Thousands! So much for drought

Goodness, they aren't trying to use this video to promote this lake I hope, I've got a guy trying to sell me property here, This is one of the worst looking lakes I've seen according to this. Wow.

you should see Medina Lake in the hill country, or most any other lake in Texas during the summer.
