I've been told there can be an issue with croatia rising up during the attack on Yugoslavia. Two fixes for this: 1. Do not call Germany into this war 2. Get to Zagreb as quickly as possible, this will prevent the croatians from being able to rise up

The austrian referendum is a two-stage event. The first part is the decision if the referendum will be held at all or straightaway ignored. The chances for that are fixed 80/20 (as long as they're non-aligned) without any modifiers. The second part is the referendum itself which you can influence by opinion, railroad focus etc. to get it up to 95% probability towards annexation. So out of the initial 80% 'only' 95% succeed which gives you an overall chance of 76% on the entire event.
Hatless, it won’t give influence to ideologies if they sit at 0,00%. 0,01% and higher though will get a share in line with a formula based on current influence, gross per day gains and net effective gains.
@@hatless_spider 1 extra thing - Dominions I believe have a rule you can’t build in them as the overlord except via focus, but should check ingame to be certain
this is extremely rng dependent aswell, if you dont get fascist assault divisions you can be delayed to becoming fascist till or around the time of reunification youll have much lower stability too because thats assuming you do a bunch of decisions to get fascist. then your justification wont be over till 38 or even later. unfortunately this is just as much rng as normal if not more since youre so reliant on that one thing the newest dlc the germans also commonly for some odd reason dont go for danzig even on hisorical. it just breaks the AI
Also I’m having some trouble with the war in Italy. I do what you do but when I try to maneuver my divisions to open spots to advance into Italy like you did the Italians always come out of nowhere and halt my offenses. Also the Italians seem to have MANY more divisions in my game than yours, the Germans keep stealing all of my war participation, and my war is taking so much longer so I’m stuck. Am I doing something wrong/do you got any tips?
I will try your strategy, the Austria Hungary Achievement always broke me because some random bullshit messed everything up. Edit: Thanks for the great strategy it worked nearly perfectly. Apart from the one time Croatia suddenly spawned out of Yugoslavia and joined the Axis. But i made a safe before every war so it didnt ruin a run. It actually felt pretty easy which surprised me because that achievement made me quit my all achievement run in the past. Thank you :)
Well you *can* fight austria and still do this strat, but there would be significantly more pain involved, so that's why I recommend a restart instead *if* you get unlucky
Of course this wouldn't be a plain monarchist guide, you just gotta throw in some brown colors to spice it up! I will say though, "rolling the dice" with Otto does Bohemia pretty well, as long as Germany is demanding Sudetenland, beacuse I have yet to see the Czech not fold. I actually did quite a few runs in NSB (unless Paradox again decided to screw the player) before I found out about ironman scum. The only real RNG is actuall the Austria referrendum. This way you can also cheese away the German wargoal by focus timing (I am sure you have heard of this one). After having played Turkey and Greece, I think that having the combined forces of Austria, Hungary, and Czechoslakia and pushing from the north into Yugoslavia and Romania is paradise in comparison. Allies is relatively easy with either a fair fight or a bit of cheezy 66. I persoanlly prefer not to call in any allies (puppet or not), espeially not Germany, to keep the fight controllable and the borders clean :)

Yes that will give significantly better odds! But even if you have to fight the czechs it isn't the worst, but definitely free units would be way nicer
do you know what the exact odds are though? (js curious) I notice you declared on the allies way earlier than when Germany would usually go for the Sudetenland, would the tactic of getting the Benelux, France, and Poland still work just as fine or will it be a bit harder?
@bismarck09 i think it should still work, but not 100% sure As far as the modifier of germany demanding sudetenland, I know it multiplies the positive odds by 10. Which is HUGE! I would guess you'd have like 93% odds of success annexation, probably 3 or 4% for puppet, and other 3% fail

If you improved relations with austria and completed reintegrate the railroads both times, then each time, you had a 95% chance to annex austria. Rolling two nat 1s in a row on a d20 is 1/400
IRRC the ai has 100% on protect Czech; so maybe 1) annex 🇮🇹, 2) start Protect Czech focus, 3) delete units, 4) release - play as 🇮🇹, 5) let ai A-H Finnish focus and annex Czech, 6) reconqer A-H, 7) release and play as A-H

@@hatless_spider 1st time i tried it went well but couldn’t finish england in time since they stacked their ports then US joined. Then I had the two times denied, the third time i got no assault divisions so i had to spend pp on banning dem parties. So yeah pretty unlucky runs 😬😬
I know it's against the purpose of the video - that being getting the Achievements - but it's laughable that the easiest way to form Austria-Hungary is to.... use Czechoslovakia, turn brown and roll over the Balkans using the Germans and calling them into the war so they don't do anything to you.

You have to restart from beginning, you can't savescum the event
