Living with my Aunt/Uncle during HS, they had a son in my grade. He wouldn’t get up on time, kept making us late, his Mom came downstairs to wake him for the 3rd attempt - mind you, I am sitting in the living room fully dressed with my backpack on as I’m Student Council President and I had a meeting with the principal that morning regarding our dress code. She goes back upstairs. Next, all I hear is a stampede of a sound, my Uncle’s feet maybe touched 3 stairs coming down, I see the shadow of his image zoom past the doorway, my cousins door opens and closes shut, then the walls started rattling. You could hear he picked him up by the collar and literally started throwing him against the walls 😂😂😂 I was thoroughly impressed because they babied him too much for my liking and I thought he might be doing it out of jealousy to make me late.
In the end, I was the only student council member to show up for the meeting and I got our principal to change the policy of our dress code. We shook hands, she told me I should be very proud, she made the announcement - congratulating me for speaking on the behalf of my student body, my Aunt & Uncle got my ice cream to celebrate after school and I told my cousin in front of his parents if he does anything to mistreatment me out of jealousy I’m going to handle him myself.
We all learned something from my Dad that day. Yes, I call the Pastor Uncle my Dad 🦾
